Keep the scene. It was nice to see something that happened outside of Aves' pained experience. As always, I love you stories.

Let's see if I can clear some things up. I write late at night, so what makes sense in my head might not make sense on paper (that's why I love my editor). I doubt it will come into effect which child, if either, goes to Gabe and Ryle. I hadn't planned to carry the story out past a certain point. IF I do, it will be first born goes to the Captain and Meg, simple as that. Withe The League of Asshole Owners, wait and see. Yes, Ryle did physically carry the Marines over on the hull/landing gear of the Cana' Star I'm glad you liked this little chapter and I'm surprised no one has yelled at me for how I end my chapters. It's shameless and evil, but I like it.

Most of the time I do just roll with it, but other I have to say nope. She's usually right in matters of grammar, syntax, and punctuation...but the characters sometimes don't fit that.

“Negative kill,” came over the com once again. It was impossible to catch that thing, the pilots thought. Not only was it far more advanced than their jets, the pilot was something special. “I think we're making them feel bad, Ryle,” said Gabe as he brought down another of the jets from the Starcutter. They were out doing some maneuvers, and so far, Gabe and Ryle were undefeated. The newly dubbed Cana's Star was something totally different and they could not even hope to beat it. “It's better

Where is a certain captain's son when you need him?
-
Don't get ahead of me, Scary. I'm building up the good vibes so I can rip them away in my normal nasty fashion. MUAHAHAHA!!! But seriously, keep you eyes peeled for the next few chapters

Okay...I just fangirlled to see I had made someone fangirl. It was probably the gayest thing you could ever witness...giggly fits with the flappy hand thing and squeals of utter glee

To answer a question, because it won't be answered in the story, Horatio was modeled after the "mad scientist/genius" archetype. He was smart, but simple things meant little to his mind. Names mean little to him when he notices everything else, such as Gabe's subscent being the same as the Captain's. As for the mating aspects, the Captain's last surprise(s), and a few other things...wait and see

Ryle was fidgeting with the hem of his shirt as the Starcutter pulled into the docking station. This would be his first time ever walking the station as a free being, and he was nervous. Thankfully, Gabe was right there. As was the Captain. The Cana could not believe he was being shown around OS Vega, the outer most Orbital station in the sector, by the Captain of the most notorious ship in the sector. Ryle had come to respect the Captain. He was a difficult man not to respect. He treated every

I'm glad you've enjoyed it so far, and thank you for the compliment. I try NOT to write the same story with the same characters, although I do like the "coming of age/first time" types. It helps show a good character development and you don't have to have them go through some cataclysmic event...just puberty or first love.

“I haven't had anyone say that to me in so long. It's almost a dream. I love you so much, Gabriel, that it hurts when you're away from me.” Gabe's heart almost leaped out of his chest. He loves me back? He was almost incredulous. How could he love the very thing that had made his life hell. Because you're not them, dumbass, Gabe chided himself. “Ryle, you want to be my first everything, right?” The Cana nodded vehemently. “I want to know how it feels...inside.” “Anything. It may take some ti

THANK YOU! I had that song playing in my head throughout the entire dream and this dang story HAD to include the lyrics. (some slightly changed)

Prompt #256: It's Just a Scratch
Fantasyboy69 commented on craftingmom's story chapter in Prompt #256: It's Just a Scratch
WELL DONE! I was wondering how you were going to handle "phone", but you did it so well you had me cackling with delight. -
I am trying to wait until another author is done working on his part in this story. Colton is based off a friend of mine and he's writing the character's back story when he has time. It's just taking longer than it should since he's in job corps right now.

“I don't need your help tonight, Gabe,” said Cook. “Oh. Really? Okay.” Gabe left the mess hall with a bit of wonder. He had never been told not to help. Must be a really easy meal, he thought, probably soup or stew. That doesn't need me hanging around. Gabe went back to his rooms. It would be the first time he had ever beaten Ryle home. He could have his clothes laid out for when he got off duty, the shower ready for him, maybe even a light snack laid out. With a smile, Gabe hurried back. He g

More will be coming as soon as I get it back from my editor.

His birthday was a small affair in the Captain's ready room. Gabe, Meg, and the Captain were the only ones in attendance, but it was more than Ryle had ever had. Cook had prepared a nice meal and even baked a small cake with a seed and honey glaze. It was not very loud, but it was a joyous occasion. Cana did not celebrate the birth. It was only when they passed that the people whose lives the deceased touched would gather to remember and laud the departed. “I can't believe this. I really can't.

All In Extra--Brad's Demise
Fantasyboy69 commented on craftingmom's story chapter in All In Extra--Brad's Demise
I approve, a Mighty Editor of Mine. -
“All hands, brace for impact!” said the Captain over the intercom. The Starcutter jolted a bit as the concussion missile slammed into the shielding. It did little damage to the shields or the ship, but enough of them would punch through the shields, and then the engines would be toast. “Pilots to the jets. Marines ready for combat.” Gabe and Ryle were helping prep for the fight. One thing they found out was the pilots needed a lot more help than they had to get ready. The duo was doing what the

Prompt #364: Slip of the Tongue
Fantasyboy69 commented on craftingmom's story chapter in Prompt #364: Slip of the Tongue
My friends thought I was insane when I started to laugh loudly. This was a masterpiece. -
Gabe was cleared by the doctor for duty three days after his suspension and he was glad to get up and about. He got up early, having to nudge Ryle awake so he could roll off of him. “I have to work, Ryle.” “K,” was all he said and rolled off, only to roll back into the spot Gabe just vacated because it was warm. After Gabe's shower, he found his work clothes had been laid out for him. With a smile, Gabe put out a note for Ryle. It read: Ryle, Meg will be taking you to the mess today. I'll

The next chapter is a sweet one, really. A bridge to tell the passage of time and life going on around Gabe and Ryle. I just posted it, give it a read if you haven't already
-
"he has come a long way from that frightened, angry little birdman" This is probably the most quotable thing ever. I love your reviews and comments because they tell me what is going on in the mind of the reader. And I am so not sorry to make you cry over Ryle's request.

Since no one saw them return to the Starcutter, no one could comment on their looks. The duo simply walked into their rooms and changed into more comfortable attire, Gabe leaving his shirt off completely. With their new level of closeness, he didn't feel the need to wear a shirt at all since the time Ryle had pretty much spent all night sleeping on his bare chest. “What are you smiling about?” Ryle asked and cuddled on the arm of the couch next to him. “You. How nice it felt to sleep with you

Gabe woke when Ryle tried to slide from under his arms. His smile was sleepy eyed and something that the Cana found more endearing than anything else because he knew that this smile was his. “Trying to sneak away?” Gabe asked teasingly. Ryle knew when he was teasing...most of the time. “I'm hungry.” Gabe laughed and raised his arm. Ryle got up and covered Gabe with a blanket. “Shall I bring you breakfast when it arrives?” “Only if you want. I shouldn't lay around too much. My muscles will cram
