  1. This both made me laugh and made me want to read A Wizard's War:
  2. Also, I'm sure a vegan version of this is possible!!
  3. I'd get creative. I'd hollow out one of those round soup breads and make an upside down Hobbit home. @Headstall That pic you posted has me drooling. I forgot prosciutto rolls existed.🤤
  4. They look delicious is what they look like! I am going to list all the ingredients I need as my Xmas wishlist!!
  5. YES. I am fascinated by these Charcuterie Chalets. I saw one where it was mostly pretzel sticks and cheese and I want to eat make one so badly.

    Talk Talk

I went on an internet rabbit hole about the benefits of biochar and how no one has been able to replicate Terra Petra yet. 🤔
  7. You keep fighting, @Mikiesboy!!! Not your diet, that you'll have to eat even if you don't want to. What I do (other than drown things in the spices I'm allowed to use) is I listen to music and dance while I eat so I distract myself from the fact that it's probably not what I'd prefer to eat. I was a notoriously terrible eater as a child (no amount of airplanes or threats did anything)...and I'm still suffering the consequences of that in older age. These days, I can eat unseasoned things and even black coffee without sugar if I have to, but that's because I decided to play defensively. "If I don't gently stretch after a long walk, I will pull a muscle or tear a tendon, and it took me 8 months to recover from that, so stretch, I must!" "If I don't eat more fiber-heavy food, I will tear something up, and I had to get a whole operation in which the recovery felt like pooping out a whole child, and hell if I'm going to suffer that pain again." Those are the kinds of things I'm constantly reminding myself about, only because I know what the worst-case scenario feels like already. So, in my head, it's all "prevent, prevent, prevent...and you're not feeling like you were hit by a truck."
  8. *GASP* Let's go!!
  9. Thanks so much, everyone!!
  10. @kbois It’s alright. If there's a hockey fan that happens to read my work and it sounds totally off to them, I can change it then. I had a little too much fun with the one sentence and it's happening either way.
  11. I'm looking for a hockey fan generally familiar enough with hockey terms and slang to let me know if I managed to use said slang correctly (or at least with the right connotation?) in a specific sentence. If you are willing to help me with said sentence, please send me a message.
  12. Status Update: Not me having briefly forgotten my GA password because I almost always have it saved and haven't actually used my laptop to sign in for a while. Luckily I found my notes for the updated password before I was locked out.
  13. *GASP* Eeeeeeeee~
  14. Yesssss. Join us, Jason~
  15. If I went by that logic, I'd never have written anything. I've never dated a werewolf, married an ex with a kid, or been hit by lightning. Yet here we are.
  16. Someone's gotta cheer them on.
  17. This was a very touching tribute and a reflection of grief that anyone who's ever cared for someone at their lowest, or lost someone in some way, can relate.

    Chapter 1

As someone who was a caretaker of sorts (in our Rican family, the youngest tend to take care of the oldest), this destroyed me.😭And I had a severe lack of tissue boxes nearby, so it was a very ugly cry. The skunk shenanigans and family-gossip-hour were much-needed relief. I'm really glad Kenny had Jordy by his side. I don't have a Jordy yet (though in my case it'd be more like a Jolene lmao). I need to find one. Crap. Where was I? Right! I'll save that part for my review. Brb.
  19. Goodness, @northie...I tried more than once to meet a certain word count. Most of my personal stories fall just short of 40k, let alone the "standard" 50k count. I tried fleshing out chapters so far out that they became boring a couple of times. 😂 That is definitely one of the skills I lack, and if you have it and it works to motivate you, go for it! I can't wait to see what yours and @Valkyrie's will be. Mine's going to be full of shenanigans. I just have to figure out which ones are relevant to my melodramatically pessimistic MC. 🤔
  20. Tis a challenge to match the prompt (or, in my case, what the prompt had me hunt for). But once I figured out the tone I wanted to go for, everything else started falling into place. I matched the character to the tone and thought of a theme that would then fit him. I found that randomizing lists of random words until something popped out at me helped. 😂 "Random word generator" gives a similar result, though it doesn't refresh as easily. My method of madness is randomizing things until they speak to me.
  21. I am currently working out my prompt plot...or rather the order of events of the plot and what order to lay it down for the 2024 Prompt Team Event (join us, I triple dog dare you). For once, I am having trouble with what scene to start with, and my scatterbrained mind is not helping one iota by outright SINGING to the scenes "Where do you go? ¿Adonde?"
  22. Hope you feel better soon, Adi.
  23. We still have messages!
  24. I'm almost coming up on half (475,586) and that's still plenty for me. 😂 Plus a bunch of my stories are collaborations, so that's not the correct number (I'd say about half, so maybe I'm actually coming up on 250k 🤔).
