Viktor broke Jany's heart. He respects him for his age and for not being as cruel as other vampires his age are. However, January doesn't like having to display his mates for entertainment against their will. They should be better friends than this, but Viktor is too selfish, he won't provide help without recompense. What Jany meant when he said he doesn't want to see Viktor again was that he didn't want to be in Viktor's debt the next time around. They got off easy this time only because Viktor owed Jany. Every member of their 'pack' becomes stronger with every new mate (even if it's a human like Quin) upon consummation. So when they solidify their bond to Quin, his strength will increase a bit and he'll age slower. As for the vice versa, the boys gain a touch more empathy and adaptability from Quin.
  4. Just posted a Jany and Quin sketch to the Crossing the Moon Album! Check it out below:

Yes, remember when I said that there were hotter scenes than the ones we read before? I was referring to this one!

I can't help but grin at the idea of January as a ringmaster. And yes, I just about died laughing at his outbursts and the "Count Voyeur" jab.

We had just begun chapter 17 and I was all but drowning in homework. I needed to take a break and work on something more fun than assignments, so @Rambling Robin gave me the go-ahead. Yes, the next update we see what Quin and Eli were up to. Goodness, yes, quite the show! I remember Robin's reations when we were working on this chapter. She really enjoyed the Jany parts. Pax did need some love, agreed. I can't promise we won't see Viktor again, though in much different circumstances.

Jany's cabinet- Yes, and Pax allows him to transfer all of it to the cabinet back home, as well. Viktor- Yes, next chapter (which should be up in...10-12 hours). Age- Pfft, nothing shows our age better than chapter 17. We've a ways to go.

It's not his "influence" (his peaceful powers) that's causing it, it's the bond that urges Elias to forge the connections full circle.

Don't drag Gin into it! Ha ha ha, Gin's completely impartial. He's just trying to do his job. Plus, he's actually quite hilarious which we will see more of later. Quin is...well, he's still confused, but he has small bits and ideas of what's going on.

Not quite. They do become a bit stronger when their bonds are fully forged, but they are by no means invincible.

Funny that you mentioned that! Yes, Pax deserves some love, ha ha ha.

Yes, Viktor is quite the manipulative guy. I wouldn't call it bad blood, more like a bad break-up.

Yes, poor Quin's so confused. But, he trusts Jany and his judgment.

He is indeed not very likeable. And Quin will have a lot more than just his hands full.

Well, we do take a few weeks off for honeymoons, so if we look at it in that perspective...it's just a fantasy tale, either way. Fantasy, ha ha.

Yes, in their culture, Omegas and their mates acclimating to their "pack" is prioritized. A month is usually the longest any "pack" has ever had off (the biggest recorded in that town was 4 -5 members, if I'm not mistaken...*thinks* 1 Omega + 3-4 mates tops...yes 4-5 altogether). The same goes for our boys, except they can't claim a vampire mate. For them, it's even an insult that Jany can't be reported in as any other mate, as it's quite 'species-ist.'

First of all, once Omegas find their mates, they have their own pack/family unit and that is respected. Secondly, humans are cared for and revered by werewolves (you'll see this more illustrated in further chapters). In the case of an Omega and human couple, the Omega is the one that protects the human under the assumption that, some day, the human will choose to be turned by them and take on the more dominant role (be it male, female, or intersex). In the case of Maribelle, her moving in with him is perceived as if she's going to a human area to watch over those humans and report any vampires. Both werewolves and vampires adore humans, it's what the turf wars were all about years prior. In a way, humans are like a bounty to them, ha ha. Treasure. He's not moving them in. Mari's doing all the leg work. She just told him "I'm telling my parents and I'm moving in." The reason that Maribelle did not bring him right away is because the guy has little to no idea about anything dealing with werewolves. She hasn't prepared him yet to face her strong, beloved cousin and his equally as strong werewolf mates (not that they'd do anything to him). Once again, humans are revered and protected, so she wants to ease him into it. "You see, my cousin and his mates are all gay and they're all total sweethearts...I promise they won't eat you" I'm sure it took her quite a bit to explain what being the mate of an Omega entailed, to start with. We will see him later on, though, generally acclimated.
