Blast. I completely ate this sequel up so fast. If you ever revisit this series, I'm certain that my face will be glued to my computer screen once again. Now, let me think...the suspense and danger in this one felt like higher stakes than the first book. I feared for Buzz's and Jed's lives, almost the entire time. I liked how we were shown some of the other packs when they all gathered. I loved the collaborations between the packs and that Parker and Colton were able to keep Christopher. We saw Jed's woes progress from one frustration to the next (PTSD, disinterest, mate overload, rejection...). Poor guy had it rough for a good while there. I liked that Buzz was assimilated into the pack seamlessly and that we got to see his and Jed's point of view whenever they observed Colton and Parker's dynamics, like when Parker was ticked off that he wasn't allowed to fight, ha ha ha. The 'circle' fight between Jed and Roy was both great and gross (in the visuals that it prompted, I mean). The hormonal Shell was hilarious, as well. I freaked out when she was taken, as I didn't expect it. I'm also still quite surprised that his old pack allowed Buzz to stay with them, but I won't look a gift horse in the mouth, it was a relief. As usual, the interactions between the couples were progressive and searing hot. I really enjoyed it; just as much as the first one!
