The story continues with "The Bearded Bromance". When this story was initially released I was told my a large number of people I had to continue it. I hope you'll check out part 2 as well.
He's scared that his past will catch up to him if they hear the song, and given that Emma showed up, it's a valid concern. But time has a tendency to heal wounds.
I have been known to do some pretty nasty things to my main characters before. Pastor Simms is a total cretin, and he deserves total hellfire, I'd say.

The sequel is going to have a lot to do with Emma, once I get a chance to work on it. I'm hoping to release it sometime next year, though I have other stories that are far nearer in completion, and I try to not release more than one serial at once.
Not only did Silas have Adelaide to protect him, he also had his years of survival training from the boy scouts. He knew what it took to survive, but it did have its costs on him. Thankfully, he finally found a home with people who can help him heal from that.
By now you know what Ian was doing during this time, and I hope you'll forgive him for not being around. Silas, although capable of surviving on his own, certainly longs for that sense of belonging.

Thank you. The song was actually written as early as chapter 3, which is when I decided to keep the band in the story. I knew what had to be done after that.
Unfortunately, Silas isn't the type to tell her to seek professional help. He's too much of a loner to think along that route. I suppose you'll just have to keep reading to find out what happens.
Silas might have been okay. He knows a thing or two about survival, after all, and this is hardly his first winter storm. But for Chelsea, certainly, it would not have ended well.
It's true, he has met some people some awful people in the past. Some of them may be mentioned later. I'm sure you already have the answer to your other question by now.
I won't spoil anything about Ian's personal life.
Chelsea is great. The epitome of being a good Christian, I think. At least that was the intent of writing her.
