I have a friend I was really close to in High school who we had this kind of bond. We're both bisexual, but we never had a thing for each other, which meant that we just ended up with a really close friendship. We always told each other our secrets and had each other's backs, and I like to think that this chapter was written from that friendship. Can't say much about the cliffhanger though.

You'll have to tell me if you're right or not when it resolves. This is one of my two favorite chapters. The other one is likely chapter 22, when Silas writes the letters. The way Adam and Silas talk to each other in this was based off of late night talks in high school that I had with some of my close friends. I've felt that calm, too.

His crime is for raping and murdering a teenager. Believe me, prison will do quite a bit to him for that. They're not too kind on crimes against kids in there. Adam will heal. The good thing for him is that now he knows the truth of what happened and can move forward.

I'm sure Ian and Amy already expected such a reckless action from Silas. As soon as they told him not to, it should have been a guarantee.

Yeah, I went back and changed it as soon as I noticed, haha! I knew I was going to be one of those kids getting a long lecture if I didn't. Adam's always been one of my favorites, and to think he wasn't even going to be a major character when I first thought of him! Originally the scene in the pet shop was going to be the last we saw of him.

I was told recently on another story that my character development was weak. I tried to be better on this story than I ever have before, and I hope it went well.

Yeah, but there is a tricky thing with hostage situations when you only have one hostage. The last hostage is never expendable, because once they're gone you lose all your leverage. At most, Simms would have continued to use Silas as a shield to prevent himself from being shot. At least that's how I see it, but maybe I'm just a bad criminal? lol.
