no in my stories a lira is worth a lot more . The great thing about fiction is that nothing is true. This gives the author a great wide road to travel. and yes I knew that the Italian lira has a limited value. We use to joke about the denomination of the lira where 10,000 notes were in circulation. There were other jokes as well about the lira. When Europe went to the EURO, there was a debate about the value of a lira versus the Euro. I was going to use a Euro instead of the lira, but this story is in the 1960-1970 time frame. Actually the point is well taken, 100 lira in this time frame is 16 cents. If I ever decided to publish this story, I'll take into account the conversion. Thanks for reading and commenting

Yes, she was adopted in Italy and had an Italian passport. The paper Scott and Brad signed when Grandmother came out of the office were the adoption papers.

You are right and I agree. I think gay couples that adopt have more love to give compared to natural parents who come to resent their children if they don't turn out like they want them to to ;I've up to their expectations.

Yes it is greek and yes it its the same meat they use in a Gyro. It is also cooked the same way on a vertical spit and the meat is shaved off. It is wrapped in a pita, the pita is thinner that the pita for a Gyro, they also include a salad and sometime a hot sauce. Now I wish I had one.
