    Chapter 196

The blue bird was GG's signature on her painting. You would have to go back to earlier chapters to remember that. She pick the blue bird because there was one outside her window. It is equivalent to Armands, ARROW

    Chapter 196

New Year's, we celebrated at the Home. Roger called and I needed to make another trip to Paris, only this time I took Carl with me. Arriving in Paris, we were met by Jean and Roger. “How serious is it?” “The doctor had said it was time to get his life in order. I’m guessing he has only a few weeks left. You won’t recognize him. He has lost a lot of weight, it’s like he has shrunken.” “I suspect it’s more of acceptance than giving up.” We took a taxi to the house, dropped off our l

    Chapter 195

The relationship between Armand and Grandmere was a two-way street. In her eyes, he was the grandchild she never had and in his eyes, she was the grandmother he never had.

    Chapter 195

Thanks for the compliment. It is difficult to face death and the unknown. Armand had a history with this woman and I wrote the interaction in the hospital as if it was me knowing Armand's history with this woman. How would i feel and how would i react.

    Chapter 195

Thanks, death is hard to write about. but as we get older it becomes harder. Maybe it's because we think of our own death and wonder how are families and friends will react.

    Chapter 195

The boys were tired as we pulled into the dock, I made sure the captain and first mate had their share of the catch. The men helped to carry the coolers off of the boat. The shrimp and lobsters were put in my car along with two of the large cod. I headed to the club. The others headed to the Home. Charles made a pit stop at his place to drop off his cooler. Walking into the kitchen, "Brother come and make your selection for tomorrow's dinner." He opened the lobster cooler, Took out all five

    Chapter 194

If I were there I would be as well. Arnaud is an intelligent man but age takes its toll. Christian has lived in his father's footsteps. He knows the family. I think fishing will continue as long as the weather doesn't pose a threat. The question is, who will be next after the Italian guests leave

    Chapter 194

You are right, Arnaud needs to protect Christian. I will bet he has already thought that issue through. he probably has a job for Armand as well. I am assuming the smoke isn't posing a problem for you. Be well

    Chapter 194

I know that was Carl's idea. Armand has recognized that his parents and Colin's mother are getting older. And now is the time for him to create family paintings.

That's a possibility. I do know they sell lobster rolls. i wouldn't mind one of those now.

    Chapter 194

Arnaud is the oldest of the family. You remember the hall of paintings in his home, He also controls the family's wealth. Now facing the future he must weigh any decisions he makes. You can let me know. I do know they sell lobster rolls.

I am assuming you will read all of the comments. This fishing area is one of the best.

    Chapter 194

There is always plenty of fish. The captain knows. I read an article that said the best fishing grounds were off the coast of Maine. I guess the captain read the same article.

    Chapter 194

As long as the weather is nice I expect them to be fishing. Armand should stock up on a few rods. After the Italian boys will be friends.

    Chapter 194

yes, it appears we will have paella on Sunday. Arnaud is up in age probably either the same age as Gandmere or a few years older. His family, not Christian, but the extended family has been a problem for him,

    Chapter 194

He has carried on the family interests which is a tremendous weight. Besides being the oldest one in the family, he has had to resolve some family issues that have been a burden.

    Chapter 193

I am a rice devotee and the more styles of cooking rice the better I like it. The paella I had in Spain was at the top of the list for me. I had read that there is a paella festival where huge pots of paella are prepared. I forgot which city this ritual took place in. Tony, you may recall where this festival took place

    Chapter 194

Arnaud heard about a painter in Poland. I could never understand these painters that followed the style of Picasso. “Do the doctors know what is wrong with Arnaud?” “From what Jean said he is just worn out. I didn’t realize the responsibility he has. He is the titular head of his family and from what I gather, he has a few loonies in the bunch. One cousin goes around dressed as a king in the 14th century.” “Christian will have his hands full.” We hadn’t seen Roger for several week
