    Chapter 6

I woke up at 6 in the morning. When I walked into the dining hall, Jeff was sitting there. “You’re up early Jeff, didn’t you sleep well?” “Why are you doing this? This costs money, and how are you going to keep Child Services from interfering.” “The answer to your first question, I’m doing it because it hurts me to see the depravity of young children living on the street. Selling their bodies to eat or to find a place to sleep. It isn’t right, and so I’ve decided to do something about it

    Chapter 5

I ordered two pizzas for delivery and waited for the children to come upstairs. The delivery came before they were finished showering. I think the smell of the pizza made them hurry and finish. Their parents had died from an accident, hit and run, rather than take the chance of being separated, they ran away. I asked them what their names wer

    Chapter 4

That evening at dinner, I was getting excited as I told mom and dad about all of the warehouse’s activity. “Brad, you’re going to have to come up with a name. You can’t keep calling it the warehouse.” “Yes, your right. What do you think I should call it?” “Why did you take on this project?” “Because I wanted to provide a haven for the street kids; where they can be fed, sleep safely, and not have to depend on strangers on the city streets.” “There are other words for a safe place

    Chapter 3

I was anxious to get to the warehouse and start ordering material for the dining area. The tables should arrive today, and once they are in place, I’ll know where to place the vending machines. I marked off the space for the counter and refrigerator across from the tables. The painters arrived and started to spray paint the walls. I received a call from the supplier of the vending machines, and they acknowledged my order. Shipping would be within the next seven days. Calling my mom, “Mom, co
