I think Dad knew what it was about choosing a path of study that didn't follow his father's. Dad's father and older brother were lawyers, but Dad was different.

Albin has survived several attempts to be seduced. Would he have done better financially if he had listened to Teddy and taken advantage of his age and looks? We don't know, that road led to misery and loss of self-worth. What is next for him? Maybe we will find out or maybe not. He has opened the club to potentially the opportunity to meet women. Yes, he did well. There was one business left undone. His Swedish grandfather was a little upset. Losing his son in the war, Albin was his only connection to his dead son. Now, it appeared he lost his grandson as well. Or did he???

Albin did graduate with a Masters Degree in Business majoring in Accounting. He still worked the parties at the club and had not made a decision to go to Sweden, for the time being. Summer seemed to pass quickly and I was on the train heading home. At that time, I didn’t realize what the future held for Carl and me. Yes, my father worked on several of these projects. I don't remember the name but I think the initials were WPA, or something similar.

Yes, a lot of bankruptcies as well as deaths occurred during that crisis. I think Chapter 14 reflects that.

You are right. Albn never got around to investing, at this stage in his life. Mom needed help.

George is still a close friend and will be very influential in Albin's life. The stock market as history will show wasn't a sure bet. Albin never got around to investing, the crash of the market would have destroyed him if he lost what little money he had.

This story took place just before the crash. Albin's money was safe but his mother's wasn't. I believe Albin's willingness to work at the club was in some way to help his mother. People with skills were employed by the State to work on projects.

I was anxious to see Carl. Peter seemed to know his way as we headed west. Chatting about the cabin and Uncle Harry getting a porch built on the front, helped to pass the time.
