Just when I was finishing my latest reread this new chapter appeared 💜 So now the big question is who tf is Juno and how are they connected to all the different factions and players? Can't wait to find out! Note on the chapter titles: personally, I am not a fan of them reemerging, as you can enter a chapter and see the title for the following one, thus potentially spoilering yourself. Also: this way the chapter numbering disappears in the "next" and "previous" chapter buttons, thus taking away a feel for how far into the book one is (more important for completed books in the series as you know the chapter count for them).

You may wanna go back and change that around then, cause the security guy in the Goodwell chapter is called Ramon and his colleague is Jorge 😁 Just for all of us nitpicking rereaders who have Will's fuck list open next to the story 😇 Content wise: still like the setup with Facebook, Google stock etc

To take us away from the heavy topic of war: I mean, he was adorable, and that was really sweet, but I wasn’t Will. No way I was sleeping with the help. I love this quote, it shows JJ's personality and thought process in a beautifully humorous way! I feel like it also shows how much JJ loves Will, having him in his thoughts in such a throwaway situation

Well, we actually had Gathan co-narrate "Poor Man's Son", so it's not a first, but it is rather rare. We've also had Matt who is a Hayes in all but name, Marcel who is Hayes in all but name and even an absolutely non-family narrator in Jeff Danfield's death scene. Having said that: I always feel weird reading Zach's POV because his thinking is so very different from the other characters, even the Hayes-adjacent ones, as well as my own. But I'll get through this and just look forward to Will and JJ 😁

“I know how much my father loves my sister.” That was true, and the answer was ‘not much’. I really love this little wordplay, it shows how deeply Wade thinks about his word choice and the way people read into what he says. Kudos to the author (and the team) for a well written character!

Brad is such a hypocrite. Telling Darius to always use condoms and then turning around not using any himself, even encouraging Jeanine to take Robbie's load like that and butting in himself right after ... Ah well, he wouldn't be the character we love to hate on if he did not have his flaws ...

"It’s like the house fell down the hill, and you want to paint it." I think this is one of my favourite analogies for relationship issues and I think about it every now and then in real life situations. Very sad about this unbalanced view on how to fix things, but happy that there is love left that makes reconciliation seem possible and even likely

I was just about to comment and then saw that I had commented on an earlier reread as well 😂 Matt is still one of my favourite narrators, his storyline brings new topics to the series and I feel like Bloodlines is the start to the "next gen" of CAP with all the following books basically flowing into each other time wise So yeah, I spent the last 10 days reading the first seven books and always looking forward to this one. Can't wait to see the storyline unfold (and then refold, get ripped, patched back together and ironed only to be tossed aside and remade) from here. This is CAP, this is what we love about it 💜

I spent yesterday fangirling about this series to a friend of mine, opened it to see how many words it had (close to 5 million) and then just minimized it instead of closing the page. And now here I am, starting another reread. I love seeing how JP started out, how much he evolves in the next few chapters alone! Always happy to find my way back to this, one of my all time favourite book series 💜

Gaaaaaah, cliffhanger deluxe! 😫 Nice chapter, like how Will manages to control the situation and get the California crew on board to handle it. Pictures taken of the creepy stalker guy will hopefully help identify and find him before someone gets hurt. Please, please don't let anyone we care about get seriously hurt in this!

Hear you about the communication, it needs to be open and honest with no bullshit games and holding back, which seems to be difficult for these characters ... I read it as Matt and Wade being monogamous but talking about having a one off together, kinda like Brad and Jake. He was an assistant of some sort when JP went to France in the 60s, he was a friend and a pimp of sorts to Stef when he was hustling and he was the one Brad cheated on Robbie with (under duress) when they spend his 16th (?) birthday in Paris. He might have slept with Jeff as well, can't remember that. Timeline should work if Fab is Will's age as long as Marc Sievres did not die before mid 1980s and I can't remember when he did exactly.

Wonder what it will feel like for Fab to realize he slept with people his dad had sex with as well? Glad this openness is happening, Will is really maturing and finding his voice in the family! I spent the last month rereading the whole CAP saga and I love that this very diverse group of people get shown in such fine detail and with such attention to each of their personality quirks! Just a continuity question: is Jorge supposed to be the guy Will slept with during the Goodwell ambush? Cause that guy was named Ramon in that situation. Or did he just sleep with multiple of those security guys?

"I'd fucked lots of guys by now, but nothing like this." Correct me if I'm wrong, but as Matt is mostly passive he has not actually fucked all that many guys. I recall JP, Stefan, Alejandro and Matthew - and now Cody. In relation to who all fucked him (especially one-offs like the cop and the trucker) his partners for active penetration have not been that many ... Love how they deal with emotions in this, regarding the kidney transplant as well as the love confessions!

"Probably about as plain vanilla as it gets in bed, I thought. He'd probably freak if he found out I fucked two 60 year old guys in a limo. Twice." I so had to laugh about these few sentences. Always love a reread of Bloodlines, Matt is a very deep character with lots of flaws and even more personality highlights So yes, Robbie is freaking out - but not because he slept with two "old" guys (never mind that Stef is only 52 or sth in this, right? He'll be right pissed to be described as 60!) but because it was these two. Also: love the plain vanilla assumption, especially Unrelated other comment to the cop scene (which is kinda disturbingly hot) : he did have unprotected sex before - with Cam. He was leaking Cam's cum when he was fucking Ashley on prom night ...

Dear Will, welcome to the world of polyamory issues - a whole new can of worms you just opened :DD I'm looking forward to seeing how this self-discovery will go and how people in Will's life will deal with his new outlook Great chapter again!

I am embarking on another reread now and I am already smiling from the first chapter alone. I love your quip about the church: "They'd have buggered him every night. No, that was not to be the fate of his son." Awesome introduction, this. I hope your health keeps up and you are not overly handicapped by the current situation!

When I read through this series for the first time, this chapter had just come out. Now, a few rereads and some chapters later, I still find the start to this story, the whole setup and the cornerstone of unfolding events, to be spectacularly thought out and written. I applaud you, dear Mr Arbour, for your ingenious storytelling!

I know this really is not the right chapter for it, but happy 59th (?) birthday Brad! can't wait to see what trouble you will get into next!

You might not want to put this in the open like that and majorly spoiler first time readers ... I agree with the sentiment though.

Now that I knew what to look for regarding hints for this story arc I totally asked myself how I could have missed it before, it was that obvious Nicely written as always, very tasteful portrayal of death and personal crises - even though I really can't condone the dubcon scenes inbetween ...

I just love how JP starts out in this - as a return (return return) reader I absolutely appreciate this side of him - and his early views on the world, sex and people in general. I especially love his naivité towards Thank you, Mark, for this awesomely epic series - I totally fell in love with that family!

Aaaaand, I'm also waiting for the big reveal of it really being Alex who pushed Carter in front of the truck, not the other way around
