  1. Arrrrrrgggggghhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!
  2. Of course...Bridget could use a drone to locate where Atlantis is moored, it only needs to be a very small drone to take pictures so she could do it from across the fence in Cuba, then maybe do a surgical strike with fast boats, in and out quickly. If the drone were small enough I doubt the Navy would pick it up and if they did they might think it was a bird. She could use a suicide drone with HE and ram it into the Atlantis, too. Hmm! What is on your devious mind, CJ???
  3. I wonder about the ability to attack Guantanamo...it is, after all, based in a hostile country and guarded by vigilant marines. If the base commander is worth his salt he would have put forth such a scenario in training exercises, wouldn't he? But of course Pearl Harbor was also put through similar scenarios, and look what happened to them! Because of Gitmo's location, I am sure they have protected the approaches to the bay with some pretty sophisticated gear, most of it being highly secret. The attack in Afghanistan surprised me also, but I'll bet they won't be able to do such a thing again. I bet they have a new commander there too! Back to Guantanamo, if the cartel were able to successfully attack the base I would think it would have to be a suicide attack because I think the Navy (at least I hope so,) would be very vigilant if for no other reason than to guard the terrorists). Of course, if James Bond were in the mix I wouldn't give much hope for either Trevor or Shane! Being a naval base I would think there would be units in the area including high speed guard boats (probably the same as used in Somalia)cruising around most of the time. I myself am not clever enough to come up with a plan to try something like that (no, no...withhold your protests, please) so I will await our wonderful author's expertise on the matter! I know this ain't a cliffy 'cause CJ doesn't use them...much!
  4. Heresy!!!! I think Humphries and Fitzwilliam were still on the same brig...and if they had to take the brig around the horn I wouldn't envy them! Only Mark can clear that one up.
  5. Mark, you may have an Odessey frenzy any time you wish! This was as exciting and swashbuckling as any Errol Flynn movie I've ever seen! What a surprise to find Humphrys and Fitzwilliam there. What assets! So there is at least one other French privateer in the area and I believe a spanish 64 gun ship of the line somewhere in the mix to deal with. It's a shame he burned the Saphiro (Calvert, that is) but a necessary evil, I guess. If he can take that 64 gunner, he will have what amounts to a squadron, I think, two frigates and a battleship, maybe more. I love the way you write!!
  6. Wow...you sure paint a dismal picture for Trevor & Shane...but, fortunately for us we know you have something up your sleeve! If the endgame is anything like any of your other writings the endgame will be messy but things come out okay in the end. (How many times can you say "end" in a sentence??? )but I digress, I know it's a secret but Cuba to me is risky even with all those hunky marines and sailors to protect them. :mace: :2hands: :battleaxe:
  7. I was merely referring to my understanding of JJ's attitude, as I had no personal experiences with molestation in my life, thank god. I am sure I would have been as lost as JJ is portrayed. Just as immoral are "chicken queens", probably just as damaging, and most certainly very prevalent within the gay community. I've seen it, but I certainly don't like it.
  8. OH.MY.GOD!!! Well, that might explain JJ'S attitude somewhat... I'm not even going to try to analyze JJ's head right now, but I think it might explain a lot of bad attitude. Wow...I wasn't ready for that Mark! Poor kid, Jesus!
  9. Well, he could leave the smaller ships in Madras and take the galleon on to England...Spain might have a problem with taking the galleon to England, I would expect!
  10. Awesome! The only bad part of the Granger series is having to wait a week between parts! I'm looking forward to the next part and I'm sure everything will go smoothly like always...let us hope! If he captures that ship in the harbor he's going to become Commodore Granger! So if he captures any more Spanish ships he'll become a Rear Admiral very quickly! Wouldn't that be a sight if he sailed back to London with three or four captured ships... Thanks for the chapter Mark. I always love it when you get into the Granger mode... If he was to capture that spanish galleon they'd have to make him a duke!
  11. Being from a potato growing state, I fear I must denounce the author for abusing potatoes... Okay, enough of that! What is Trevor up to now? He's pretty smart, but I ain't, so I can't really figger dis out... Whatever is going on I hope they give the Argentine Customs a black eye and maybe point out some of their (Argentina's) graft. CJ, make Trevor remember to put the battery back in the phone! Another great chapter, CJ...even if it does feel a little bit like a hanger of the cliffy type...
  12. Here I was, all relieved that they'd made it to safe ground and suddenly...RING, RING, RING!!! This is definetly a cliffy if there ever was one! I may have to retract an earlier statement I'd made about CJ not using cliff hangers... Great chapter, CJ and thank you very much for putting us through all that...I never felt to cold in all my life! I used to bitch about shoveling the drive back home during the winter because that was so cold, but with almost 20 knot winds in freezing seas...man! I assume they had a heated cabin at least, can you imagine sailing around the horn without any heat at all in a wooden ship? They probably had to make the topmen reef sails at gun point! I can't wait for the endgame in this story, although I might have a heart attack until Bellvue is dealt with!
  13. If I were Trevor or Shane I think I would be having serious doubts about trusting anyone right about now...is everyone one Bridget's payroll? Well, If I were Trevor I would keep right on sailing, maybe stop at Bora Bora for a few days before taking off to the mid pacific...at least there, unless Bridget has a battleship, I think they would be safe! Wouldn't surprise me if she had one...a battleship, that is... I've decided that I will re-read the whole story after it is finished, that way I can clear my mind better about the progression of events! Excellent chapter, Mr. James. Thank god there was no cliffhangers to disturb my own tranquility...
  14. Jesus...what a great chapter! Mark, you outdid yourself! It makes you appreciate Wade Danfield even more! He's a great guy, honest, generous, loving, hot...the perfect man! Oh, I forgot...rich! At least rich for now. I wonder what nana will do with her money now? I also wonder what Wade's mother will do now. Well, I don't expect Wade will get much of a Christmas present this year...at least from his mother. Thank you, Mark!
  15. It makes my head spin, some of these intrigues you come up with, Mark. So, is some of this stuff based on factual events uncovered by the British navy or did you drum up these ideas alone? I sometime wonder if your Granger character is based on some historical figure or maybe a composite of several figures of that time period. If there were a real Viscount Captain George Granger of the British navy I would think he would be right up there with Nelson in the history books. He sure makes an interesting, noble figure. Back to the intrigues, I wonder if Bertie did uncover what was afoot and decided it was even too reprehensible for him... George will prevail, I have no doubt about that at all. There may be some hell to pay in Rio in the next several episodes, but I have a feeling there is alway hell to pay in Rio! Good job Mark. I always look forward to anything you write.
  16. Awesome chapter!!! Still no death and destruction of Bridget but I'll happily settle for the Kookaburra being saved! Let's hope the Atlantis survives as well. It is a shame that the Fantome was destroyed, she looked to be a beautiful ship. I think I may have seen pictures of her before, when I was searching for large sailing vessels on line. Fowler is a good policeman, I think he should get an award when this is all said and done. Shane in drag was a hoot, and I do wonder what his revenge will be....
  17. I also thought this chapter was great!! Will is quite a guy for his age...fourteen, right? Sometimes I think he's the leader of this family! I think he and Darius may have made their peace and I am glad. Will is my favorite and I think when he gets older he is going to be an awesome force to be reckoned with. He has the personality and the mojo to do whatever he wants, and if people don't like it they'd better stand aside! I also think Will will end up in the sack with that Carter jerk...
  18. Thank you, Mark, for another great chapter! I think Conway might be more wily than we think...especially if he has a history of underhandedness. They guy with the hook bothers me only because Mark made a point of bringing him aboard, or at least since he mentioned him he must have a purpose for him. We all are aware that Mark has a devious mind, aren't we? I for one am willing to believe the worst! We also still have the other two trouble makers on board to do just that (make trouble, that is). Conway seems to be the one goading them on, or... maybe it's the guy with the hook? Maybe it's both of them... I think there will be hangings in the future. I think a three way right now would be a bad idea, with trouble-makers on board. All it would take is to have one of the trouble-makers barge in on them and all hell would break loose. The word would get out. I urge caution!!!! This may just be what Maidstone may be trying to find out to denounce Granger... Gaaaah! I love this story and I love this series!
  19. Wow!! This was worth waiting for...as I knew it would. My suspicions about Mr. Conway seem to be well founded and I can't wait to see how it will be resolved. I still think the man with the hook is a plant. This may turn out to be one of Granger's biggest challenges yet. He probably should cool it with Calvert until this gets figured out. So glad to have you back, Mark!
  20. I loved the travelogue of Australia and I especially loved Shane's reunion with his friends and family. I can't help but feel this is a lull before the storm, though...almost a cliffhanger except I know you don't use those! Gray should be ecstatic...he's got both targets right in front of him... I don't know how anyone could be so calm within spitting distance of a salty though...
  21. I did reply to this chapter but I can't find any sign of it anywhere. Oh well, I loved the chapter, I just wish you'd hurry up and kill Bridget very painfully. Perhaps in her favorite alligator pool? As you can see, there are a lot of responses to this chapter and I'm sure for every one response there is probably hundreds of people who don't. Doesn't mean they don't enjoy your writing, it just means they might be busy and don't take the time. I am not too busy to take the time, I am just plain lazy... I know, rather pathetic of me, but I'll try to do better! I always love your chapters...always!
  22. Oh no, you can't end this yet! There are a lot of people to punish before this ends. I don't like this Kline guy at all, but there is also the cartel and of course Bridget. I think a smart bomb would work just fine if they ever find out their locations. I still think Bridget should go swimming with the alligators she's so fond of... I know you have this all figured out, but unless you are trying to bring the bad guys out into the open so the cops can get them I don't understand all the publicity with Trevor and Shane. Surely the bad guys would figure out if it's a ruse or not? I've read this story from the get go and I will be saddened to see it end, and be even more saddened if you end it early. I understand your frustration when you don't get comments on the story, I've been in that situation too. If you only have five more chapters please hang in there, for every one person commenting there are probably hundreds who read this story religiously that don't comment. I think you are a fine writer who absolutely doesn't use cliffhangers...a fact that I am so grateful for.... I hope you have a sequel to this story too!
  23. I think Trevor's car may be full of drugs, after all that's the reason Bridget bought the thing, wasn't it? To set up Joel and Lisa or something like that? Of course it may be full of gold for all we know. So many things have happened I am perfectly willing to think anything evil about Bridget. She never does anything without a reason. That asset list bothers me too.
  24. I'll give my own bias...I had a hell of a lot more than 11 partners before I turned 30. It was the times. I think if you ran the poll in the Bay area you'd need a Cray computer to keep up with the numbers...
