  1. This was a wonderful chapter, and I see you deliberately timed it just so as to leave us wondering what the King's response to all of this will be. If he has any sense at all Granger will be knighted at the very least! I can just visualize all the lords of the admiralty fighting over who gets to read Granger's reports first! Granger has another son! More midshipmen coming up! To say I love this story would be the understatement of the year! I hope Mr. Arbour will continue to enthrall us with stories of Granger and his merry crew for years to come! For me it is one of the most satisfying reads I've found. Thank you Mark!
  2. I think I like Shane! Maybe too early to tell, but I think he's a friend? Maybe more? We'll see, I guess. I've never heard of that stuff Shane's spreading on toast and I've been in Sidney. 'Course that doesn't mean they attack every tourist with it do they? Wonderful people, the Australians...very kind and willing to help. Strange sense of humor I thought, but then I guess they could have said the same about me! Great chapter, I always look forward to each and every one. I know you've got more crap coming Trevor's way, it's the way you do!!!!
  3. I like the way you are putting the chapers out now. I realize people get frustrated when you have to end a scene in an awkward place, but that just adds to the anticipation of the next chapter. Mark Arbour does the same thing, I think, although I think his chapters sometimes are longer than others. Bottom line, you are the captain what you say goes!
  4. And what a great chapter it is! I wish every gay couple could find the love and commitment to each other that Brad and Robbie have finally recognized in each other. I've been with the same man for 37 years and I can tell you it ain't easy, no way! But this was a beautiful ceremony and I thank you for it! The song lyrics were beautiful and most appropriate!
  5. I was searching desperately for an icon to use against you but nothing seems to be appropriate...
  6. Awe no...why did you go and do that??? Here I am thinking, "yeah! They're bonding!" and then you go and create doubt! Evil...evil...evil man!!!! Great chapter, as always...and yes, that did feel like a cliffhanger! I guess the cops have a better idea of Shane's character that Trevor thinks...
  7. gasp!!! (passes out...)
  8. You've caught me off guard!!! Good chapter, and the interplay with Travers got me to thinking...are they growing apart? I'm not entirely certain, but I feel the love they've experienced in the past has diminished somewhat. I guess it would be inevitable that Granger's love would taper off since he's also in love with....lesseee...three or four others and in lust with everyone else! There's only so much room, I would think, for love. Anyway, they'll work it out or maybe not, we'll see. Can't wait for the next chapter, now that he's headed for England. Jervis must have put some recommendations for George in his dispatches to the Admiralty so I'm anxious to see what you have in store. Love this story!!
  9. I'm glad you are feeling better. Rest is still the best thing, I think. Great chapter, and damn your tense endings...!!! I think Shane is more important than what is being let on, you know...hot sweaty bad boy blonde...who can resist? But, before that happens, I imagine Trevor will have to beat the crap out of him a few times to get his attention!
  10. He would be a great Calvert!
  11. I agree completely. I couldn't believe my luck when I discovered this story. It's my favorite genre...oh yes, I love Hornblower and the Patrick O'Brian series and having a gay theme to the Bridgemont stories really was the topping on the cake! Mark writes these so well, it's easy to get absorbed in them and I hate it when there's a long delay, knowing of course that it does take a lot of research to write these. I hope he has plans for many more stories like these to come.
  12. A recuperating CJ is better than no CJ at all!!
  13. How about Commander John Travers?? Or my new love...gawd...what a babe!!!!
  14. Oh yeah, the coughing is the best part!!! Brandy is good...
  15. Well, I've had that before and I know exactly what you are going through. Just stay in bed, DO NOT MOVE AROUND TOO MUCH, and wait it out. I'm sure your doc has told you much the same. I picked up mine from a guy from work! He came to work with Pneumonia and spread it around. We'd rather have you feeling better than exerting yourself too soon.
  16. I think Bradley James from Merlin would be a good Granger. I don't know how to attach pictures so I just dropped this one in my reply: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_NGjAHiIdpuQ/TJA2GSSqpKI/AAAAAAAABt4/U1gryRz6EiY/s1600/bradley+1.jpg
  17. Ooooohhh, yeah! He was great in the Social Network, by the way...
  18. Amen to that!!! I think the Customs guy liked what he saw and that's why he didn't offer any clothes...
  19. All I can say is...whew!!! I knew that the Australians were not asleep, I just didn't know they were that wide awake! Poor Trevor...hotdogs again??? Great chapter, the one I was waiting for, thank you very much, and I am very interested in the next one too!
  20. Those look like Pigmy goats...
  21. This is funny. I have two pigmy goats (mother and daughter) and they're great. You should hear them around feeding time!
  22. Maybe Trevor's Christmas present will be a hunky fisherman...with a big ole boat!!!!
  23. We certainly can't ask for more! Thank you and Merry Christmas!!
  24. I got the impression that Trevor was more or less drifting with a minimum amount of control toward either a nice warm sunny beach or some big old flat rugged high cliffs with huge waves smashing into them. That's what I derived from his wonderful detail of sailing a broken...basically a raft...with a torn handkerchief and a lot of guts. Yeah, a lot of what he'd described went over my head too, but I assume he knows what he's talking about and if he doesn't, well, how would I know??? Let's hope for a fishing vessel to tow him out of harm's way...and soon!!
  25.  are we going to have a Granger Christmas??????
