Wow is right! Lovely chapter, though...

Dang...this story has more twists and turns than a 40 year old pole dancer...here I was all ready for some more Trevor and Shane action and you've gone back to Florida for a bit...dang! I know it's necessary plot-wise but you need to pander to my prurient needs... Then the garlic crusher shows up...bad news for Trevor, what with all the press storm coming! This seems just a little bit like a hanger of the cliff type...if you know what I mean!

I too am breathless...probably not a good thing for someone my age, but what the hell...wasn't this a good chapter??? I was waiting for Granger to rip that lieutenant a new one, but I guess we'll have to leave it up to Calvert.

Great chapter!! I'm liken' Shane more and more! I'm curious about what happened to him earlier on to have had those same panic attacks...I have a theory but it makes me shudder to think about it. I think it would have been better if Trevor's location hadn't popped up in the conversation with Joel...just the mention of Carnarvon is enough to start the enemy rolling to the attack...but I'm sure that is dramatic necessity and possibly a mild cliff hanger... and after all we don't know if Bridget and co. will hear of it...but you just know she will!

I'm no expert on the cliffhanger thing, but boy that sure felt like a cliffhanger to me... Gawd, I agonize for Trevor over his panic attack or whatever it is. I've had panic attacks before and believe me, they can hurt! Mine felt like my chest was exploding. Great chapter CJ, and now things are out in the open...or are they? There seems to be some mysteries about Shane that have yet to be revealed, and I don't for a minute believe he's really straight...or maybe I just don't want to believe that! We know that CJ would not dangle Shane in front of Trevor (figuratively) just to be mean, would he?

Dang! I don't like cliffhangers...dang it! I've decided that it's going to be a Spaniard frigate that's going to show up in the nick of time and save them! I mean, Spain owes Granger a whole lot, don't they? This is a great time for them to repay some of his help. That's my theory anyway! Back me up here, Mark...

Interesting chapter...sometimes it feels like the investigation is taking root, but then...well, maybe not... And then there is the Trevor/Shane thing, or not thing. Well, maybe the barbecue on the beach might generate some real talking between the two. If Trevor reveals himself to Shane there could be trouble, although Shane needs Trevor to con the boat back so I guess he wouldn't go storming off into the sand dunes, would he? My dirty mind says, well never mind and don't worry about what my dirty mind says! Although, I guess there is really no reason to tell Shane anything, is there? Doesn't matter, I think Shane already suspects... Gawd! I'm going in circles! CJ I think you are deliberately trying to drive us insane...

Oh, Yes!!! I've been keeping up with that one too! Kinda triggered my response here, I guess! I'm lovin' it, although I don't know how the mind of teenagers work anymore now than when I was one! :wacko:

I have a simple question...would iron tanks be all right to hold water for a long period of time? I would think there would be problem with rust after a while. Now if they could figure out how to galvanize the iron (can they do that?) it might work. Maybe if the tanks were tightly closed there wouldn't be any rust. Or lined with copper... I see the Granger has a new squeeze...one of these times it's going to come back to him, I think. I hope not, I hope not indeed, but knowing a little about human behavior (being human myself) , I'm worried one of these young immature men is going to get jealous and have a hissy fit as only young immature men are wont to do... :boy: I don't blame Granger at all, but his neck is stuck out there a piece. Another great chapter non the less!

Or, maybe Jason Kline is gay, will hook up willingly with Trevor or Shane or both...hmmm, sounds like a cliffhanger...

Great chapter and I love Shane and Trevor's banter, but now I want to see a little man on man action happen between them...so I guess a little honesty between them would be appropriate about now...Sooner or later the truth will come out. Well, at least I hope that is what will happen. It would be too cruel for something not to happen, don't you think? We all know that CJ is neither a cruel author nor does he leave cliffhangers...

I've just finished reading chapter three and it's left me in tears. I know that George was worrying about Travers and himself growing apart, but the sudden finality in this chapter really hit me. Sailing about in wooden ships probably may seem glamorous, that is...until you find yourself slugging it out in a unequal battle, death and destruction raining down about your head. In the past, I've watched movies about fighting in wooden ships and never really thought about all the splinters flying about, just the rigging coming down or cannon balls smacking into you. But the real danger is the splinters...like fragmentation grenades, I suppose...that and fire. Be that as it may, I had a feeling Travers would probably die in battle soon, and now I need to see if George has the strength he needs to go on. Personally, I feel he does have that strength, as his character has shown, but death can be a debilitating thing, and grieving too long for a loved one can be devastating too. Great chapter, despite the sadness, and now George needs to go kick that Spaniard's ass...

Excellent!!! I can't wait for the next chapter! What a wonderful surprise...I wasn't expecting anything about Sir George so soon! So, please don't be too slow about posting!

First of all, congratulations on your win...and...umm, as for this chapter, I guess you've cleaned house a bit! I'm not sure about the killing bit, but it's your story after all...and I guess some people are beyond redemption. It was a riveting chapter, that I can say, as all of your writing is. I can't wait for the next chapter!

Awesome as usual. Thank God for cooperating Customs Officers! That reporter guy worries me too, but maybe he'll be put off after they go to Shark's Bay???? I think this guy will find out about Atlantis by snooping around the yard, see all the damage and put two and two together, don't you? A thought struck me, and I will go back and check, but do we know Shane's last name? Could he be the Blake's son or nephew or something like that? They seem (the Blakes) pretty accepting when it comes to him, allowing him to charter the boat and all. I just wondered. Damn...now I have to wait another week...damn!

You haven't said anything about the O'Brian novels, which I think are too technical for a simpleton like me to follow sometimes, especially when he uses of-the-period english. There are a lot of terms used that I have to stop and look up if I want to understand what he's saying. Dr. Maturin uses even more. The battle sequences are good though, but some of the books I've read seem to go on and on about the details and that gets exhausting for my little ADD mind! :wacko: I think I enjoy the Hornblower series the most, well...after Mr. Arbour's, of course!! :wub:

Yes! I am presently reading the Bolitho series and caught a hint of midshipman love with his friend Martyn (sp) whom he lost much too early, I thought. I've read a little background about the series and he does have a long lasting friendship with another but I can't remember his name or rank. By the way, this is a good series to read if you are into this era of naval history. I've also read a lot of the Patrick O'Brian books before I discovered the Mark Arbour series on line. Oh, yes...I have the complete set of Horatio Hornblower books too! I guess its a sad case of being an obsessive git, but I don't care! :wacko: I think Mark's stories compare very well with all the others!

I haven't read a single one of your stories that I didn't enjoy all the way through. I do have to confess that I've read and re-read the Granger stories a few times, though. I get so wrapped up in them! I do hope you continue on with that genre...Napoleonic wars, that is, for quite a long while! I'm being selfish, 'cause I want to continue reading them! Above all, thank you for all your hard work! By the way, I've decide that Bradley James from "Merlin" is Granger, hands down! Or Henry Cavill with his hair dyed blonde...hmmm! Gawd, could you imagine them both on the same ship... Sorry, I'm rambling...

Wow, good chapter! But you know, I just wish someone would go through that bungalow and discover the bugs in there. Lisa and Joel might not intend to tell Bridget anything but since they don't know about the bugs they might do it inadvertently...you know like talking dirty while they're...doing stuff... The bugged bungalow is really bugging me! I liked how Trevor stood up for himself with the gun...he probably should have reported it to the customs, but after two attempted hits on him I don't blame him for wanting to keep it. Besides, he didn't really import it into Australia, he more or less sorta slammed into it like, kinda...well damn, he almost missed the whole island! I guess it's a good thing he didn't booby trap his hiding place or the police would really have been pissed! I don't think Aries is sunk at all! I think it's in Australia too! Gawd...I hate that the final chapter is coming up, although you did say you were working on some more. This chapter was great, as usual, with the reunion with Cavendish and all, but dammit, you are making us wait for the presentation!!! Oh, well, anticipation makes it all that much more...or so they say! Can't wait for the next part, especially what you have in store for Granger! Actually, I would like to know what will happen to Mann! I know whatever you come up with will be worth waiting for, you always deliver!
