    Chapter 4

My klompen are size 11.5. I do not suspend them from the mantel, however. We set them on the hearth. They take the place of stockings, pretty much. The last thing I hung from my mantel that weighed 175 pounds was myself, and it was totally an accident!

    Chapter 4

You need to rent yourself out as a research specialist or something along those lines. You are wasting a talent for facts of an esoteric nature!
  3. Geron Kees

    Chapter 2

Does sound like a clunky forties car with a big straight-eight, doesn't it? Actually, the little old lady only drove it to the casino on Saturday night. But the mileage is about the same!
  4. Geron Kees

    Chapter 2

    I like it!
  5. Geron Kees

    Chapter 3

    And to never sleep, too!

    Chapter 4

Christmas has always been an individual experience, most often spent with others of like mind and spirit. For me, Christmas means family and friends, and time spent together. And...a cute bauble or two in my klompen doesn't hurt, either!

    Chapter 4

That would be nice. But...wouldn't it make the holidays less enjoyable?

    Chapter 4

Haha. All of the others will return. They couldn't make it this story...but they send their love, anyway!
  9. Part Four - Charlie parted the curtains just enough to look out. "Jeez, we have a full house. Look at the crowd." "The whole town is here, Mayor Snorkum told me," Uncle Bob said. "Except for the two newborns, and their parents. That's why there's two empty seats over there in the corner." Kippy laughed. "Leave it to these folks to set up an exact number of chairs." "It's magic," Charlie whispered, giving his boyfriend a nudge. Because the town hall meeting room also served as a

    Chapter 3

Most nice Christmas presents come in a neatly wrapped package. Merry Christmas!

    Chapter 3

You always have parts of it right. And you DO read lots of stories. Where do you get the time???
  12. Geron Kees

    Chapter 3

Magic is what you think it is! Thanks!

    Chapter 1

I think I knew that. Yes, I'm sure of it!

    Chapter 2

Does this mean you'll ferry me across the Mersey? Always liked this song, as well as Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying. These guys still show up on public TV here every now and then.
  15. Part Three - The world of elves and humans occupied the same planet, but not the same space upon it. It was that way for a long time. Elves were aware of humans, but wisely chose not to mix with them, for humans were not really to be trusted. They lacked the most basic of the civilizing factors that had long kept the world of elves peaceful and prosperous, the main one being an ability to get along with each other. Whereas elves placed great value upon each other's welfare, humans seem

    Chapter 1

That about says it all. It isn't just Scandinavia that thinks they have a lock on Santa. Us Nederlanders think he comes and spends the season with us, too!
  17. Geron Kees

    Chapter 1

I use DuckDuckGo, too. I guess that makes us both quackers. I'm not sure where I got the name Twombly from. I read it somewhere, at some point, though. Seemed a fitting name for a town full of elves!

    Chapter 1

Kids are pretty much at the whim of the adult world, and the military service of a parent is an intrusive reality. At some point, kids come to understand the dangers of that service, and each time the parent leaves, there is some small worry that they may not come back. The holidays are especially hard on them, and it is far from easy for the parent that is away, either. So every Christmas wish we send them helps, just a little. Thanks.

    Chapter 2

Oh...I tend to telegraph surprises, just a little. I don't believe in shockers, ever since that little old lady from Pasadena got mad that I sent her pacemaker into a tizzy.
  20. Geron Kees

    Chapter 2

Yeah, but you're on the Naughty "A" List, which means that Santa loves your sense of humor, but cannot admit it publicly for fear of tarnishing his reputation!
  21. Geron Kees

    Chapter 2

I cannot say I have any acquaintance with Santa's Good List, but I know an elf or two, and they can put in a good word for you!
  22. Geron Kees

    Chapter 1

If there's a reindeer with a red nose in these woods, he's drunk. But, it's Christmas, so we'll let him get away with it!

    Chapter 1

Thank you. Maybe a tour-de-Kippy? Will that do?
  24. Part Two - It was mid-afternoon when they seated themselves at Myrna's, the small restaurant attached to the ski lodge, and looked over the menu for something to eat. The show was pretty much set up and ready to go on the stage at the town hall, and Uncle Bob wanted them to return there after their meal so that they could run through the act one time together. Charlie was sure now that they were going to have a fascinating experience, from just what he had seen of Uncle Bob's equipment
  25. Part One - "Christmas comes but once a year," Kippy said brightly, smiling. Charlie Boone sighed softly, knowing his boyfriend well enough by now to know that this was just the opening volley in a much bigger battle to come."I have heard that, I think. What's your point?" Kippy gave a little pout, but then smiled again. "Oh, Charlie, it's such a special time for us." He snuggled a little closer, and ran his hand slowly over the warm flesh of Charlie's belly. "I want it to be in
