My klompen are size 11.5. I do not suspend them from the mantel, however. We set them on the hearth. They take the place of stockings, pretty much. The last thing I hung from my mantel that weighed 175 pounds was myself, and it was totally an accident!

You need to rent yourself out as a research specialist or something along those lines. You are wasting a talent for facts of an esoteric nature!

Christmas has always been an individual experience, most often spent with others of like mind and spirit. For me, Christmas means family and friends, and time spent together. And...a cute bauble or two in my klompen doesn't hurt, either!

I use DuckDuckGo, too. I guess that makes us both quackers. I'm not sure where I got the name Twombly from. I read it somewhere, at some point, though. Seemed a fitting name for a town full of elves!

Kids are pretty much at the whim of the adult world, and the military service of a parent is an intrusive reality. At some point, kids come to understand the dangers of that service, and each time the parent leaves, there is some small worry that they may not come back. The holidays are especially hard on them, and it is far from easy for the parent that is away, either. So every Christmas wish we send them helps, just a little. Thanks.

Oh...I tend to telegraph surprises, just a little. I don't believe in shockers, ever since that little old lady from Pasadena got mad that I sent her pacemaker into a tizzy.

Part Two - It was mid-afternoon when they seated themselves at Myrna's, the small restaurant attached to the ski lodge, and looked over the menu for something to eat.
