Yes. The ring apparently determined that Garvin was better suited to use it. Crillis seemed to feel that, as long as it went with someone in the group, it would be okay. Guess the ring had a mind of its own!

You're thinking of pipes and rust and sediment and bacteria and AGE. Suppose the water is simply MADE behind the counter, from oxygen and hydrogen, and no pollutants permitted? Sort of like the food! 😁

Thanks. I feel the need to present the idea that being gay is no different than being anything else. That how others see us must never be allowed to damage the way we see ourselves. And, that there are others out there that will see who we are, and love us for it.

The only type of atomic weaponry we are familiar with is hugely destructive. But the science is already there that suggests that there might actually be ways to cancel the bonds that hold matter together, like the old science fiction disintegrator rays of the comic strips. But for REAL. Such a weapon could hardly be selective, though. Aim it at a man, say a mage, and you might just take down his shop and the ones to either side, too!

Nope. Heinlein was a different sort of animal than I am. I grew up reading his books, though, and admired his ability to tell a story greatly. If he's not really dead, it's just that he wrote it that way in his latest novel. More likely, he's Lazarus Long!
