Recently i came across a story on a different site and liked it so i started reading more from the author. The site on which i was reading was a free site that operates on donations. When i reached a certain part in a story, it asked to go to the authors site for a special chapter. I did so. When i wanted to read the special chapter however i found out you had to be a member of the site. I went ok lets see if they offer free membership, turns out they dont. So i figured the special chapters probably has no bearing on the story. However as i started to read the next chapter it referenced a key event that happened in the special chapter. At this point, as a reader, i became a bit angry as if youre going to tease an special chapter you should tell us if it has any influence on the story. I felt cheated because it involved the engagement of two major characters and the next chapter its like oh yeah they got engaged. They also had a crossover between stories and would just say after so and so happened. They would make these allusions to events in the first chapter in each story involved after the special/cross -over happened. My question is as an author do you feel that it is right to do that to a reader just for the sake of money? And to readers how would you have reacted?

I mean you could if you wanted to... I honestly dont think he'll do something to cost this relationship with his mum. I honestly think chase saying "you can have your mother back, some of us arent so lucky" made something click inside of hank.

He can also at the very least have a best friend back as well.

This is what ive been trying to say! He constantly blames others when in fact hes had the bigger role in a breakdown than the other person did. He goes off half cocked! And i do agree WE might have an ally in Lilah. I still firmly believe there is hope, even if my comment inferred something different.

Yes it is something. But his choices always hurt more than one person, and usually the other being hurt was chase. Yes he chose to reach out to his mother, but i have to wonder did he do it of his own volition, or did his therapist suggest he do it. And if the therapist did, why do it now and not when chase suggested it earlier.

Im not saying him being damaged is on him. But any of his recent sorrows are mostly on him. He chose to believe he was cheated on. He chose to believe Chase moved on with dawson. He chose to believe things that attributted to his own misery.

Im not off the idea, i just think these guys need to start over tabula rasa. Btw @Headstallif they do start over and go on a date i hope you use the name tabula rasa at some point as a chapter name!

Well a lot to unpack there. So dad was at the very least bi. That explains his acceptance. Seems like theres plenty of blame to go around. Now Hank has sorrows guess what pal any you have now are on you. You projected a bunch of bs and as a result may have very well lost the best damn thing that ever happened to you. You acted like a petulant child out of blind devotion to a person you really never knew much about, and lost out on a relationship with your mother. Thats on you not her, she reached out constantly. Chase honey, honestly I'm beginning to wonder if hank was ever worth the heartache you had to go through over one mistake. He seems more damaged than i previously thought.
