Here is my favorite quote that sums up my life so far. My only regret about being gay is that I repressed it for so long. I surrendered my youth to the people I feared when I could have been out there loving someone. Don't make that mistake yourself. Life's too damn short. Armistead Maupin i also want to add I have gone from being hidden in the closet to be PROUD of being gay. I proudly wear a Rainbow bracelet. I found one that means a lot to me. The funny thing is I was expecting negative comments but just the opposite. I have made a few new friends. So take care.

I cried the first time I read this chapter and I cried again. Guys and gals this really did happen to people. It never happen to me but if you know my story I had to have that “heart to heart” talk with my Doctor in 1973. I still remember that talk - he told me I was sick and I needed help and he offered to put me in a mental hospital to get cured. Just think I’m 22 years old just coming to terms with who I was and I could talk to no one. I felt so weird I look at guys and they did something for me. They stirred feeling in me I didn’t understand. So I hide who I was kept it inside for a long time. This was a struggle and I kept it together for a while. Then I had my night this was part of the day I tried to end my pain. That’s a different chapter in my life. So I hide myself and didn’t open my heart and let anyone in. That talk with the “so called doc” had affect me. I had to play the game playing straight never really being myself. I then started to see things getting better for guys like us so I took baby steps. I came out to family - it went well - Came out to some friends it went well. I then had some discussions with some Good Sirs and DiC friends and I finally came out at work. The feelings after that was unbelievable so freeing. My wish is that every gay guy never has to go thru that “talk”. On a positive note I had this same gay talk with a new doctor and he said “so, thanks for sharing” like it was ok. So guys yes it is ok to be GAY. So guys it does get better. The times are so much better they may not seem like it but they are. Please hold your head up and be PROUD of who your are.

tim sorry to hear you are sick - I learned a long time ago Clorox handwipes and Lysol spray is my friend. I have both in my office cube area and use they often. So take care

excuse me please Sirs, And good DiC friends I going to a lurker this weekend. I have a medical problem that is giving some concerns. So spending day with friends and family. Staying positive and upbeat. I have to wait till Monday to see doctor but we have talked. So please enjoy your weekend.

Fae I’m not taking any chances with this. 1 was bad enough but I found the 2 nd one. So I’m have the doc appointment on Monday. Thanks for the good wishes. Trying to stay positive.
