I do. Self-loathing was a part of my life for nearly forty years. I did have a harsh awakening when I realized I was never going to get rid of my gayness. I was not bisexual. I desired nothing from women. I was NOT attracted to any of them. The only time I entertained the idea of being female was when I was attracted to a man and wanted to be a "female" to get with him. I have no desire to be female. I was shocked when I went to my first "gay club" and saw men kissing men. I was shocked. I had to come to grips and accept drag queens. Daniel, my late husband, loved some and one in particular, Patty O'furniture." Yes, I have studied the whys we are gay. I've learned about the Kinsey Scale to determine how gay or how straight a man is. My attraction is toward men that register three or lower. They look and act "straight," until they get to intimacy. I am attracted to the hairy, macho male. I have written on occasion that you put these men in a crowd at Walmart, you could not tell who is straight or who is gay. It doesn't matter. I continue to evolve. I had problems with lesbians. I couldn't figure them out. Now, I live with two...well one is a lesbian and the other is transexual, born a female and now identifies as a man! We all have phobias. I admit mine. Europe and East-Europe have taught behaviors that are picked up by homosexuals there. We have ours. Nature verses nurture. I can send you information to support both aspects of Human nature. I will say, I don't like long hair on a man. I also don't like men that manscape what nature gay them. If you're hairy, FINE. Don't shave anything. Be that man. I love men. I like many that span the whole Human species. I will evolve.

Yes, Epsilon Eridani is next. I haven't been inspired too much for Cinderella III. I know where I need to go, but... Twelve lightyears to Gaea and we'll see.

The evening was progressing and there were people coming that needed to be seen. Or really, they needed to see US. Yuri and Zoya would be the most persuasive proof as to why we were here. Vampires by nature trusted no one. Humans didn’t trust that much better. Kuyvashev didn’t trust anyone either. That was because of how he operated. He used deceit as a way of life. It was sad, really. He SAW what happened. Sergey had bitten Stan and Mark. Kuyvashev was still looking for a lie. There wasn’t one.

We walked down the corridor to go back to what we had planned before Klaus had done what he had. Olek looked at us and smiled, “And what are you planning tonight? The Grotto again?” I grinned back at him, “It’s the hippest place in Makarovia!” I said in English. “Of course, we’re going there.” Olek grimaced, “Hippest.” He repeated. “What you Americans do to the English language,” he shook his head. “You don’t wonder how frustrating that is.” “And you don’t wonder how frustrat

Was it? The Earth is still recovering from a devastating series of bombs set off. The Alcubierre Drive was proposed in the 1990s. Resources were too low to develop a working engine. Joel worried that there COULD be problems in the future. Could. He is preparing for that "maybe." The Earth and other colonies won't be necessarily in stasis. There will be others in two hundred years. I can tell you that. Joel wants them prepared. They have some brilliant people on the Ark, but only about two thousand people. Not the greatest army, if Earth comes. All I mentioned is on the computer. The drive, the power booster, even the music. It's real!! I swear!

The entertainment began, and Joel was very impressed by the number of talents on the Ark. It was known that a brilliant mind was assisted by certain types of music. Sara Beth insisted that all her sons were accustomed to classical music. The most popular music were pieces by Mozart. The strolling melodies helped to stimulate brain development as a baby was forming and growing. She played the same music in their nursery when sleeping. Before the boys were born she had electronic…speakers? That wa

Yes, my next chapter will be about Gaea. I am also adding some chapters to Makarovia, so a week or two on Gaea, then twelve lightyears to Makarovia and then back to Siberia. I'll be tired. I've got the Proposal for Olek to give to Helga and another year at Northeastern, more development to Gaea, and more things to add to the VUN! I will tell you, keep this on the downlow...tell no one. Chuck left his body to science, yes, but he left something very important to Amanda. I won't tell you what it is, but you know George, he'll make it work...with Amanda's help. It won't just be for science. Nicolas won't be alone. You know who he is, right? You know what he is, right? Enough! You'll find out.

“Impossible,” Kuyvashev said to Colin and I in whispered disbelief and not without a little terror. “You CAN’T be vampires! You went outside at NOON! The sun would have reduced you to ash in minutes! You love coffee…” Colin nodded as he walked forward a little in Kuyvashev’s direction, “Yes, we know and have heard it and explained it so many times before, it’s become tedious.” Normally, I would get some pleasure when we blew what people thought they knew about vampires out of the water

Joel looked at Hank as they wandered along the shoreline. They weren’t very far from the air generator. The waves were as waves on any beach were, they rolled in and went back out. Zeus, the Godzilla Planet was not that close now. The two moons, Adonis and Butes. As with the other planets in the Epsilon Eridani System, Joel had not named these celestial bodies. The Greek theme continued and when Joel was explained why, he agreed with them. Adonis was the bigger of the two, though less than half

Come on, Buddy. I know I didn't write on this a while because of personal issues that caused writer's block, but here it is! A new chapter and I am going to keep writing on it. Come on, din-din is waiting.

As Kuyvashev backed up a step he pointed at Vlad and shouted to the two men who had come with him, “Stop him!” Vlad glanced behind himself at the two men and then looked back at Kuyvashev. “They can’t.” Vlad smiled, but the smile was not friendly. “Can they, Gaius?” “No,” Gaius smiled. “They are…preoccupied.” He waved his hand in front of the closest man’s face. They were both in their thirties, one had dark hair and the other was bald. Neither of them was responding. Neither of them e

Inside the Ark, it was beginning to bustle. What had seemed cavernous and sparce with few, now with people, it came to life! The Habitat Ring had many souls out and moving to do…whatever they had plans to do. As Hank and Joel walked toward the Control Room children were playing. Children always ran. They had energy and used that energy graciously never worrying it would run out. Joel grinned as he dodged a couple that played that game all children knew. Tag. In his attempt to avoid being caught

Hank was stunned but when he moved his left arm he was wracked with pain. He heard Sara Beth’s voice. “Hank! Joel! Someone, answer me, damnit!” “We’re coming to you!” Xolani’s voice said quickly. “The lander is not nearby where Joel and Hank are,” Sara Beth said over the com system. “You need to fly the lander closer and get Hank and Joel onboard! I don’t care who flies the lander, just get there!” “We’re on the way!” Kurt reported hurriedly. Hank tried to straighten his arm

I mean this with no sarcasm, no jokes, and sincerity. Thank you. I think of you as a veteran writer. For you to think what I write is good is a great compliment. I write. I do not consider myself a great writer, but there are people that like it. That still blows me away. I'm selfish. My stories are the reason I get up and keep going. I want my stories to last long after I'm gone. Once again, I'm not going anywhere soon, I hope. I became obsessed with stressing love, commitment, and honesty in relationships. Find the right one, not the one right now. Gay men and women can find it! Look! Yes, especially guys. I know our world. Find love! I'm doing it again, getting off topic. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I really appreciate your words. R. Eric 🙂

Water and wind. That's it. Look what happened in the Grand Canyon! Water is the great eroder. Wind is next. Those two together destroy everything.

Yes, it was. I did it on purpose. I want you to be unable to wait for the next chapter. It's what writers do. Evil, ain't it? Heh, heh! 😈

(Part of this chapter is for Cindy. I won’t tell you which part.) Joel walked with Sara Beth, their three boys, and Robbie back toward the Nesmith quarters and this time he paid attention to what he saw. The lighting in the Habitat Ring was dark again, reflecting an evening after the sun had set…on Earth. There were the familiar night sounds from crickets and even a frog was croaking out his call for potential company from another frog somewhere in the dark. Or maybe he or she was ju

Discussing Future Problems
R. Eric commented on R. Eric's story chapter in Discussing Future Problems
Is it paranoia or just caution? The world they left became a very dangerous place. Joel was a military officer and knows firsthand how bad things had gotten. We are talking about two thousand souls on the Ark. If anyone came to threaten them, how could they stand up to them? The paranoia started because of the enclosed communities on Earth. Walled neighborhoods that protected citizens and armored trucks that delivered groceries to a secure grocery store? The mentality was forged by events on Earth and reenforced. These people took a huge chance by taking a vessel out further than anyone had gone. They took their families and left the Earth knowing they could die. Joel knows they won't stay hidden for long. If someone does come, if they want to risk coming out where they are to look for the Ark II, that would be risky, too. Come on, it's me. I know people are nice at times, but many are just plain evil, selfish, and mean. That's reality. We will not all agree. Fact. Joel thinks it's better to prepare for what may not happen, than be unprepared for what does happen. It's military thinking. Sunshine and roses! But look for clouds and parasites at the same time. -
It was the new normal. Joel opened his eyes, and his first thought was stasis hadn’t happened yet. He remembered the drowsy feeling he always got and told his mind that it must have. There was the additional feeling he got from some stiff muscles. Just barely felt. That was his proof he had gone into stasis. He smiled as he stretched to get the medicine he had inhaled to revive him from stasis was done. He would now know he had been in stasis when he felt like this. His proof! He also notic

Discussing Future Problems
R. Eric commented on R. Eric's story chapter in Discussing Future Problems
Farther along on the planetary evolutionary scale? How? Let me explain. I am a science geek. When we had movies in class, I was the kid in class that paid attention. Be it biology or another form of science, I paid attention. It was fascinating! Carl Sagan! I loved that man. His excitement as he discussed everything from Astrophysics to Planetary Evolution fascinated me and kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved to hear his talk about the “billions and billions” of years or miles. He did that show “Cosmos” that also kept my attention. Joel’s hatred of math is me. I hate math. Now, Astrophysics held my attention, too. The idea of mass, gravitational pull, velocity and other factors just made sense! Bill Nye is another scientist I found very interesting. Gaea. I chose a planet that had all the elements needed to build a world. Geographically stabile and has water. Water is everywhere! Even on our own moon! Yes, there is. They found it in 2009! It’s in a molecular form but there on the sunlight side of the moon in the shadowed craters. There will be more discoveries. Anyway, back to Gaea. Will there be life on Gaea? The beginnings of life? We were there! We just don’t remember. That was only about three and a half billions of years ago. Theory. Observation. Stephen Hawking. Don’t forget him. Again, Gaea has what is needed, but it didn’t get the needed start for life. I’m bringing life to Gaea. The habitable zone and elements will allow a biological cycle to live there and be maintained. Like I did with Makarovia, I created a planet they can build on. I am a god here! Well, I am. I can add or delete any planet I want. Or anyone. Relax. My head is not that big. I’m a writer and love to create stories. R. Eric -

Rita chose to go with the Boeuf Bourguignon, or Burgundy Beef for those that didn’t know what it was. She decided to go with escargot as the appetizer. This meal was less about what they ate, but how they ate. “In my home, we would occasionally entertain,” Rita remembered. “Only twice was it a formal affair.” She chuckled sadly. “When we could get what we needed, my mother and father would ask friends over and have a casual dinner. The two times they had the formal dinner, they had some fri

After the good time, they returned to do their jobs. Sara Beth had more of the pods to check. Joel quickly checked over any messages to see if there was anything new. It had been ten years since he last checked the messages and there were many he hadn’t seen yet. Hank was checking for any potential problems. Rita checked Athena’s protocols for receiving messages and diagnosing problems with the Ark. This was really a wrap up of this time out of stasis. This journey hadn’t been bad. Yes, it had r
