He also knows that my threats could go either way. It could be my love language... or it could mean I'm debating on whether or not I'm in the mood to travel and then sway a jury. So you know, I guess you're getting a taste of that, he's lived with it since 2007ish.

Can penises be bi-polar? I mean you men can be asleep and it decides it wants attention, the needy critters that they seem to be.

I need to finish my trainwreck of a Prompt. I even poke fun of it early on in the writing. It's going to cause a lot of people to lose faith in my ability to write, I'm thinking. If this story hasn't already, I mean.

It has been eye-opening, the engagement. I've only had bits of it here on GA, because I've rarely had a project done in a timely manner that allowed for a nice posting schedule. Most of my comments were... "when is the next chapter going to be posted?" When I was struggling to write, "The Best Year." I saw with the small project "Ridley," what real engagement looked like, because I allowed for it more than I used to. But I never expected this. And I would say that some of these discussions were far better than the chapter written above them. Either way, very much loved and appreciated... especially on days/weeks like these...

Keep in mind though Davin and Gavin's school schedule could have shown Davin very willing to go to Football games in the past. So he could be breaking from his norms. And he's breaking them suddenly and both Gavin and Colt have noticed him doing so. So, it may not be something that Gavin hasn't had much of an argument with his brother over. Friday night football and maybe an after party, but now he seemingly does... and why could that be? It may be a small town thing where people know one another well enough to clue in on such things. And breaking from those being bigger than they are. Now if Davin had a good reason, I'd say Gavin would've dropped it. Like for example if Davin were to tell him that he had a night out planned with a special 'someone.' Which he probably did... but since he didn't want to out himself or Joel in that moment, he couldn't give that reason. So all Gavin and Colt saw was Davin suddenly not acting like Davin. Joel could've gotten away with telling them no, but that wouldn't have given them Davin's answer. Joel saying yes bailed him out.

Give Colt a chance, he's been trying...
-
Yeah, he can't be doing that. Sigh... I'll have a talk with him later.
-
Sighs... didn't I mention fickle. I can't believe the lengths I've gone for you in the coming chapters. No more. and yeah, I tend to slide in descriptive things here and there, but for the most part I allow people to form what they wish.. with some guidance. Like we know Joel has brown hair and brown eyes. Davin and Gavin dark brown/almost black hair, a darker complexion, and darker brown eyes. Colt has darker blond hair than his sister, and duller blue eyes than her as well. Roy is a lighter brown haired guy than all of them and his eyes are a softer brown with more reddish and yellow tones. So, there's that little run down if you want them. Davin has more small moles and body hair than Gavin. Gavin is more lanky in build than Davin who is more toned and shorter. And I'll save the rest for later.

Well look at you, you are good for something. Gold star to you for the day! Congratulations.

When I was dating jocks I was behaving myself. So, I wouldn't know. My husband is tall though, but he wasn't jock-ish in his younger years. He was athletic, but didn't play sports. He loves sports though, but he was more into outdoors stuff and sports got in the way of all of his hobbies. But I am also tall. Me and my husband are the same height at 6'3" and I was very athletic. As small as my HS was, I was the fourth tallest student on campus, third tallest athlete. I was taller than most of the men's basketball team. So the girl's team won a lot more games than they did.

I'm not sure he'd risk the wrath of a mother that's shown she's willing to cut out a child. He has to know to keep his mouth shut, at least as far as that goes. If I went that route, I'd have it backfiring, but then I'd also have Joel staying at the Benton house. It was something I sort of planned to do if I decided early in the writing to put him back there... or for him to never leave. But I liked the thought of him leaving more. I do wonder what kind of story would come along if he never left?

I'm listening. Listening is probably best.
-
Hmm. If they do, I hope they 'measure up,' to expectations.
-
Likely. Have faith in yourself, unless Whiskey does horrible things to you... but even then.

He is the one that keeps me from posting early. It is him you have to convince, not me.

You'd be surprised how many perfectly straight guys I've seen kiss one another. Most of it playful, but a few full on impressive with wandering hands and everything. It is refreshing to see men in general so centered and relaxed with who they are. And yeah, Joel isn't going to have the intervention and Jaxton isn't going to have the restraint of them either. Small town loyalty can be a little tricky...
-
I completely read that has penises too. Wait what am I doing? I totally read that as pennies. You dirty minded little thing.
-
I wonder how many pennies you're willing to wager? Or if it is cheating if I know the outcome? What can you even do with pennies anymore anyway? Aww, I know of someone that did something similarly, but it was a guy kissing a girl and she punched him. And no, it wasn't me. But, surprise kissing... hmm. It isn't a third person advantage. If I wished to follow Gavin on a deeper level, I could have spared him the writing to do it. It would've just taken place with Joel being given information or witnessing the events and whatever that would look like. But, it could still happen. A day out with the twins where Gavin takes the lead role and we learn more about him, it wouldn't be a bad thing. Just not something I've done. But yeah, going off narrative with voices other than main narratives is something far easily done in third omniscient, not as easily done in third limited.

You cannot be done with Colt before I give you your gift. It happens next chapter, my goodness... if I thought you this fickle, I wouldn't have done what I did to that boy. *sighs* I'm a bit worried about Joel's mindset. At least with this chapter and the next a bit. Quite a bit. For reasons I can't explain at the moment, but y'all focused on Gavin, so at least this chapter I needn't have worried. Maybe that was the intention all along? Dangle Gavin in front of you and you forget to look too closely at what Joel says/does... am I that clever? And you're right I am the author and I may have done Gavin a little dirty, having him just being a bit of a distant clown in the background. Colt reeks of sandalwood, not bad hygiene, I think he bathes at least. You just may not appreciate how he does it. Maybe he needs pointers. Maybe he needs someone to give them to him. I'll not accept any Celia or Trace bashing, behave yourself sir. But yeah, they do like to 'talk it out' it might turn into.. 'talk it to death...' but I hope not. They are dealing with Four teenage boys, seemingly.. and a scrappy little eleven year old girl that probably has more fight than all four of them put together. Lol! I don't know if I've won any round by Colt forgetting his tent. He showed up single, but does he end up that way? 😮 That whole PS was pure entertainment. Blaming me for shenanigans before I've shown my cards. How dare! But I'll still take the win.

When you're the smallest dog in the fight, you might have to pull out a few bags of tricks. You never know, the kicker might be willing to do things to win that a bigger dude might not think they need. Like bite soft tissue...
-
Possibly. If they treat him like crap, then who could be motivated to win with a team that doesn't treat you like you're a welcomed part of it? It would be a terrible dynamic. I think he'd say kiss my ass before he stepped onto the field though. He'll miss baseball, but getting out of a toxic place is worth the missing of something.
