  1. It doesn't matter at this point. The bomb will go off period. Whether its a bump or the cell signal there is absolutely no way it won't. The dynamite will sweat more as it ages though to a slower degree since its out of the direct heat, but there is no question that the bomb will detonate. Its just a matter of how and when. Though by all odds its going to be very soon.
  2. Damn. I was hoping it would go off en route. Now since the bomb is placed (and I'm pretty certain its on the Talon) several people we've just been introduced to are going to die. I hate that. I wish it would have been the bad guys that went boom not the innocents. :-(
  3. Actually I don't know if the bomb will make it that far. The dynamite is already beginning to sweat nitroglycerin and since he's now uncovered it and put it in a steel can (propane tank) that should cause the problem to get worse. Any impact of the liquid nitro will set it off and very likely set the bomb off as well. It may never even reach the docks. Depends on how rough the road they have to travel on is I'd imagine.
  4. Its been my experience that alarm companies call the location if the alarm is disarmed outside a specific time frame. Even if they don't they keep records of alarm arms and disarms and who does it so wouldn't they have called the precinct when a master alarm code was used?
  5. I think Lisa needs to get a little more suspicious of Bridget. Sigh.... Even before we found out she's the bad guy I was suspicious of her. I guess her fear of Dirk and for Trevor has completely blinded her common sense. An interesting chapter to be sure. Something that occurred to me. As a hypothetical (and using something that Bridget mentioned) what if the Ares and the Atlantis are the same ship? They fake the sinking go dark so the transponder shuts down and move the Ares back into port under sail. They switch out transponders and viola Ares is now Atlantis. Then they file the insurance claim. That's my theory and it kind of fits.
  6. Yea I bet the 10 year is the tax lien and the 7 is insurance fraud. We'll have to see.
  7. Well obviously murder isn't the crime that Dirk is waiting for the statute of limitation to expire on. Murder has no limitation. What is he is waiting for at least as far as the 10 year limitation is so that the IRS can no longer file a tax lien against "something". I speculate the problem has to do with the alleged sinking of the Ares.
  8. I think it was funny that Gonzalez used what we all suspect as fodder for laying a trap. To be honest I wonder if he was making it up on the spot or if he truly does suspect that Jim and Dirk are having a relationship. I agree with Benji. I think there is a serious miscommunication between Trevor and Dirk. I suspect they are both gay. Trevor thinks his dad hates him because he's gay and Dirk thinks Trevor has a real problem because Trevor thinks he's gay. As to whether or not Jim and Dirk are in a relationship? The entire vacation plan seems to point at that very strongly, but then again it could be misdirection. However I firmly believe Dirk is indeed gay. I also think that Joel should demand to stay with Trevor. I wonder if he'll read far enough into the sea log to find out about Trevor's mishap in the Atlantic.
  9. Yes. Although I feel we are missing another big player. I have a very good idea who the driver of that speedboat is. If you guys think about it you might have a clue as well after all who was in a position to watch Trevor all the years he has been running his boat. Who did he confide in about his solo trips to search for the wreckage of the Ares. Finally who got him involved with Bridget?
  10. This has been an interesting story so far. I'm thinking that the FBI likely won't get involved. Typically they don't unless murders that are connected occur in multiple states or a kidnapping that crosses state lines. Now Dirk could file a missing persons report with them if he wanted the feds involved but so far that doesn't appear to be the case. I'm hoping that Joel stays with Trevor. Sailing alone is always dangerous as he found out in the last chapter. I know that he felt he had no choice, but it appears that at least some of his common sense has disappeared (but then he is a teen and they do have impulse control issues at times). The lawyer obviously has no idea what happened between Dirk and his wife, and they appear to be at the very least close friends (I think the lover angle isn't that far fetched). Looking forward to how this all turns out.
  11. Actually according to the previous chapter we know for a fact that the Scar's body was not destroyed by the explosion as the General thought. If all they found was an arm then its extremely likely that he managed to get away. He's likely to be disfigured however and missing an arm.
  12. The one thing that bothers me through this whole thing is the lack of body armor. Personally if my life was in danger from assassins I'd be wearing the stuff. It appears that none of the protectees were. You are right the Air-Force is being inept. As soon as I heard that this group was being attacked for thier knowledge, even if they didn't want them, there would be snipers in the hills. What they don't know can't hurt me right?
  13. Speaking of geese. Here is my stupid theory about the resolution at least as far as the plane is concerned. It would be rather funny if by happenstance a flock of geese passed between the F-15 fighter and the biz jet. The radar signature of the flock is big enough for the radar to lock on to them instead of the plane. As a result the missiles home in on the geese. The missiles then explode since they have proximity detonators tearing the flock to pieces. Meanwhile the biz jet continues to lose altitude until it falls off of the F-15's radar which considering they are at 1,000 feet is entirely plausible especially since the F-15 is 20 miles out in mountainous terrain. This would turn out to be an interesting scenario considering that they were meant to crash with goose blood on the plane to make it appear to be accidental, but it turns out that a flock of geese saved their lives. As I said, its a dumb theory, but I thought I'd throw it out there regardless.
  14. To answer the question posted in how long it will take the missiles to reach the plane: Roughly 30 seconds. This is if they were traveling at Mach 3.
