    Alo Chapter 34

Something tells me that the title of this series just became inappropriate. Lloyd is going to have two teens and two rug-rats living with him, so he will be no longer "alone".

Foster care has such a bad reputation, even in this country because most of the people involved are in it only for the money and couldn't care less about the children. There are also frequent stories about molestation, unfortunately. I feel that the restriction on gay foster parents is unreasonable. Gays, especially gay couples who enter into the foster care program, are usually in it because they want to be and frequently have a double income so the payments mean little. Just another place for equality to take root. I am pleased to see a few married gays allowed to foster older children as they are so hard to place. There must be a special place in paradise for these gays because fostering an older child frequently carries with it an additional burden of previous failure and psychological scarring.

good, I was worried about Lloyd going swimming in long pants then dripping all over a vehicle afterward. By the way, the word is 'khaki', Snort, I just had to sneak that in!

I think there is something wrong with my internal computer, $600, 800, and 500 add up to $1,900 each, not $2,9001

At the rate, he is going Lloyd is going to own half of Western Australia soon. He should find a mate to share it with. Do I remember reading about a mechanic with an adult son coming to work after the Easter break? Hmmm.

    Alo Chapter 26

I suppose Lloyd is wearing slacks or jeans, possibly shorts, but no mention was made of stripping those off to tie onto the mired vehicle. Damn, a missed opportunity to impress his ex Brother in Law. I guess he is saving himself for the young man who is arriving shortly.

Please check a reference for standard voice radio procedure. Many times in this story one or another of your characters has used the expression "over and out". That is improper voice radio procedure and would never be heard over the air. The station which is controlling the message stream would say "out" and that is all, the operator at the distant end of the communication is not turning the operation over to the base station, the base station already has control so the expression "out" is sufficient by itself

I am embarrassed by the bad habits of the Australians about whom you are writing, Quorra, I thought Aussies were better mannered and law-abiding than us Yankees, it seems they are acting just as badly as a group of 18-20-year-olds on Spring Break from the US. But I guess you are more familiar with the bad habits of your peers than am I. Maybe it is only Canuks from whom we can expect good camping manners! I would advise your employees to watch very carefully where they step -- it is not only bears that poop in the woods!

It would be just like Nicholas to be the trespasser, but isn't he in jail?

So many events in his chapter -- I am going to hold off on any comments until I read a bit further,

    Alo Chapter 13

I will agree that Lloyd is punishing the wrong party at this point, but I feel he may be doing this to impress upon the parents, Jeremy and Angela, the necessity about doing something about Nicholas and his anger management needs. Nicholas may be ending up in jail as a result of the assault, but I feel he needs counseling more than incarceration.

    Alo Chapter 12

It seems to me that Angus may be having a problem with frequent urination. Frequent urination in dogs sometimes signals a health problem. a bladder problem, bladder infection, kidney disease, bladder disease, liver disease or diabetes. Perhaps Lloyd should have a vet take a look at his companion although the dust-up with Nicholas will likely be taking precedence now. What is it with Nicholas that made him so aggressive? Did I miss something in my reading? The sources I checked about using salt water for mixing concrete all agreed that while salt in mixing water may increase early strength, after 90 days it will cause rapid failure, and if there is any rebar used, it will accelerate rusting and failure there too, so it would seem that seawater is a no-no for concrete.

If I understand correctly, Lloyd is now a part owner of the station. That will give him added incentive to do a good job on the repairs and getting things going again even though he seemed to be taking hold well even before the change in financial arrangements. The storm certainly ravaged the station, but it is great to see him working in so smoothly.

    Alo Chapter 10

This is the second time I have started reading this story, though the grammatical errors in the writing are bothersome. It is not the job of the author to correct the grammar of the story, that is the job of an editor. It is the job of the author to be creative. Apparently, your editor is not doing an adequate job, if you are using one. If you are 'self-editing', please consider seeking editorial assistance. Correct grammar would make the reading much more interesting and easier to read.

    Alo Chapter 1

Okay, a North American can be a Canadian so a North American southerner would be from the US and we sometimes call ourselves 'Yankee' though as a strict interpretation a 'Yankee' would have to have been born north of the Mason-Dixon Line which was used to separate the northern states from the Confederacy during the Civil War, and would have been a member of the Union Army. Google ''Mason Dixon line" to show it exactly.

    The Fifty Quid

I have no difficulty reading a story that uses British spelling, just don't ask me to use it in my writing! I can even understand many British slang terms, but not Cockney, I do have my limits. If I come across a British slang word in a story that I am not familiar with, I will use the internet for an American equivalent, but many British terms are understandable to even an old American like me without translation. Now if I could just figure out how to use the Brazilian telephone system, I would be well integrated. My Portuguese partner has escaped back to the Continent to visit his family and will be gone for two months The couple he has hired to feed me while he is gone do not understand English, so I am incommunicado for that time. They are doing a good job, so far, in feeding me and taking care of all the animals that Jose seems to collect, but I am surrounded by silence until he returns. I guess I will get a lot of reading on GA done.

Apparently, the uniform for karate is a gi and the word can be spelled either karategi or karate gi thought my spell checker objects to he one-word spelling.

"If you were seen with a woman, you had to be fucking her, unless of course, she happened to be your wife." It is little throw-away one-liners like this that make your work so humorous. Question: whenever I get used to Brit slang something pops up! Wouldn't a Brit say, "I am going to hospital." rather than "the hospital"?
