  1. It was a busy week for Stacy, with a family to look after. He also spent a lot of time contacting staff and volunteers from The New Boot, enlisting help and support for a new show. As if that was not enough, he was organising a surprise birthday party for Charlie and Michael. Compiling the list of proposed guests was the easy part. Planning the food frustrated Stacy until he spoke to Kate, who offered to help. Kate was a lifesaver, and Stacy was very relieved by the offer from his friend.
  2. Aloha Albert, are you and Steve prepping for the new year yet?

    Chapter 12

I hope the familiarity with the places brings back some good and happy memories for you. The expansion of Ian Kevin's business is loosely based on a small local chain of pawnbrokers that my father and I had connections with, unfortunately, they no longer exist. One of their shops was in Sale town centre and another in Chorlton, it was a time that has many good memories for me.

    Chapter 12

I like that description of Max's reaction. After all, he was provoked by the steward's behaviour toward Liam. Thanks for the comment, I hope to see more of them in future chapters. 😀

    Chapter 9

Thank you @Gary L, the author did have help from an excellent editor, so it was a joint effort. I hope you had the tissues ready. I'd suggest keeping them in reach, just in case, lol. Thank you for the comment, they are always welcome.

    Chapter 4

Thank you for joining us in reading about The Baxter Boys journey. As you point out there are a lot of good points and weaknesses in the NHS, it felt right to include both in the story. I hope you enjoy your visit to Birmingham, I haven't been there for a few years and high time I paid a visit. Thank you for commenting, I hope you stick with us for the rest of the journey.
  7. What! You mean he was drugged 😟
  8. Hi Terry, it's busy but good. How's it going for you
  9. Aloha Albert, I hope it's a good day for you.
  10. Quarantine is one of those necessary evils, for want of a better expression, but I'm sure it would be just as effective if shortened. Benjamin and Joseph's relationship is close, they are 'brothers' brought together by circumstance. I hope you will join me in wishing them well on their new adventures and a life in the UK.
  11. Whatever decisions are made about Ariel she will be looked after. Sometimes we have to make hard decisions in life, we can only do what we feel is right at the time.
  12. To quote what I was told when I asked those same questions, "If I told you I may have to kill you to prevent it from getting out", for that reason
  13. Benjamin's circumstances will become apparent, I can't say more.
  14. Unfortunately, many people do experience hard times but it is a fact of life. Benjamin's actions may not have been well thought out but they were not intended as cruel, as luck would have it he chose a family full of love and understanding. Please @Summerabbacat, take care of those 'allergies'.

    Chapter 12 Haifa

If Joseph had any doubts about his future and if he was loved, they are now gone. He now has what any boy should have, a loving supportive family.
  16. I cannot say what Associated Executive Car Services are working on as it is highly confidential. Many religious people do some unspeakable things and claim it is in the name of religion, my answer is simple, if that is your religion then you can keep it. Many houses in Israel are built with some fortification and or/ a safe room. Like you, I cannot imagine living where you are in constant fear of terrorism unfortunately some people do as recent events have highlighted.
  17. Manny lived by a simple philosophy, to not do harm but to do good when meeting someone in need. Very few know Manny's past and it is a closely guarded secret, given his age it makes me wonder what happened in his past that influenced him. Maybe that past will one day be visited.
  18. Joseph is mostly used to the way of life with his family and the village he grew up in. Living with Isaac and Shamira has given him a taste of family life, but until he moves to the UK he has no idea what to expect. I think he will like it, I hope so. My portable aircon is put away until next summer, the heating is on with our current temperatures.
  19. I can't say anything
  20. Up to now, everything appears to be going well, let's hope that continues. 🤞
  21. Isaac knows his stuff and has every intention of using all legal means possible to make things happen. Ian and Kevin being in Israel makes matters easier. Joseph wants to make a good impression on 'his brothers' and does what he believes is right.
  22. You assume correctly that it was Joseph's family that treated him badly, he is yet to discover how fortunate he is to be rescued by Manny. While Manny was of the Jewish faith and honoured most of the tenets of the faith he could never accept all of its teachings. He concentrated on the teachings that tell of love and acceptance and lived his life accordingly, in what he considered an honourable way.
  23. Sometimes I wonder why is there so much red tape, but then I do understand the necessity of thoroughly checking backgrounds. But then the rich and famous don't appear to have that problem. Ian and Kevin are neither rich nor famous, so I wonder how they will get on with the system as it is.
  24. As grown up as Ian and Kevin are, they still need the level-headedness of their Pop and it's good that he is there for them. They, and we, will discover more about Joseph when they arrive in Israel, and keep the tissues handy for those allergies when they meet. Benjamin is from Israel and enters the story in later chapters.
  25. Manny, like The Major, took to Ian and Kevin and had a special place for them in his heart, they were like the family he never had. Ian and Kevin's love and respect for Manny equalled their feelings for The Major and he became a second father figure to them. This made their decision an easy one to make, if it was important to Manny, it was important to them.
