I'm learning something. I'd never heard that saying but it's a good one
My French teacher at school used to use it in class, whenever one of us would deny being involved in whatever our latest bit of mischief might have been.
He said it translates to "He who excuses himself, accuses himself."
Of course, it could also mean "She who excuses herself, accuses herself." (But I went to an all boys school.)
I just read that, Val...
I'm a bit worried that it might say something about me that I am the first reader to give it a Laugh emoticon after reading it...
What's that French expression again, clo...?
Qui s'excuse, s'accuse ... if I remember my school French correctly.
(Hopefully my French is a little better than Val's Latin, and I haven't just called down a plague of locusts on us all.)
She's awake anyway. She just gave a Love emoticon to my Black & White photo from last night.
[Edit} And even replied to that effect as I was sending my previous comment.
She posted in here yesterday. Mentioned something about some sleep study thing she was to be involved with last night. Maybe she hasn't woken up yet?
Although she was on the GA site 8 hours ago. Could even be she's busy with the Fall Anthology, whose submissions ended at midnight on the last day of November... I understand she has some role on the site to do with the Anthologies.
You may have branded him, but you obviously didn't keep a tight enough rein on him, my dear.
Good job @Sherye spotted him wandering loose. I'm sure she'll take better care of him than you did.
*Shakes head, and wanders off mumbling about the lack of awareness of people who allow their livestock to roam free on the public highway...*
Okay...
So here's my week 36 offering in my challenge to take and unload a new monochrome photograph every week for 52 weeks:
It's the concrete steps leading from my lower garden to my upper one (on the left), and also to the upper story of the old two-story stone cottage in my garden (on the right).
(Just out of interest, that window in the old cottage, that I used for last week's photograph, is about 4ft 6in (1.4 metres) to the right of this one.)
