  1. And look at the record high temperatures in the Arctic and parts of Siberia. Current indications are that the melting of the ice sheet on Greenland is increasing quite dramatically, and predictions are that if it all melted it would raise the sea level by around 6 metres (20 feet)... Hey, Gary!
  2. The Marsh Family have a new video out... I'm sure Alfie (the oldest lad) was shorter than his mum when they started these parodies near the start of the pandemic...
  3. Sad indeed. Some of the news footage is heartbreaking.
  4. The ‘Spanish Flu’ pandemic killed an estimated 228,000 in the UK, making 1918 the first year on record in which deaths exceeded births. So far, in the UK the total number of deaths with COVID-19 on the death certificate is 152,856 (‘Spanish Flu’ is a misnomer. Spain’s neutrality during Word War One meant that its press was not subject to the same reporting restrictions, and so were among the first to report influenza cases, giving the impression it originated there.)
  5. The toes are excellent, thanks for asking!
  6. Greetings, Albert!
  7. You and me both. Drew has been very quiet recently. Hope the little guy's okay....
  8. Well you can use it to tidy up your chest if you want. My grandfather, actually used that type of razor. As a child I saw him shave a few times, and he would terrify me by jokingly make his hand tremble quite severely as he was bringing the razor up to his his throat. At the last moment the shaking would completely disappear, and he would stroke down leaving his skin as smooth as a baby's bottom. When he was having a shave he would tell me he was going to have a dig in the grave (an example of Cockney rhyming slang). I suspect that the weird sense of humour I can sometimes exhibit comes at least partly from my interactions with granddad when I was a child.
  9. And he doesn't charge all that much for his services either...
  10. Well past my bedtime, so goodnight my friends! I was planning to leave you with "We're Not Gonna Take It" from Tommy (A Rock Opera), by The Who. However, when I was searching YouTube, I came across another song with the same title by Dee Snider, which I'd never heard before. It affected me that much that I decided to use it instead.
  11. Marty offers Gary a loan of his razor...
  12. Hi everyone!
  13. I'd opt for the above. Thank you both for your offers to hep. I think I'll keep using my cute podiatrist, however.
  14. Greetings, young Albert! 4.1 doesn't seem too bad... I'm about to head out for an appointment with my podiatrist. Will be glad to get my big toenails cut back to a length that I wouldn't be in danger of causing severe damage to anyone I might decide to dance naked with.
  15. That's great news, dugh! ❤️
  16. Good to hear you had a nice time. * Marty carefully resists making the "size isn't everything" comment...
  17. Because I had two separate Zoom meetings this evening, I cooked myself a quick dinner of chips ('fries') and cheese omelette.
  18. But you're still a kid in my eyes, Page!
  19. Happy Tuesday, Gary! I'm guessing he wasn't the one that made you feel nauseous...
  20. Once again.... Belated greetings, Albert!
  21. I'm off to bed. Good night, all. I think I'll leave you all with this one tonight. Sadly, with all the news about climate change, wildfires, melting of the polar ice, and the like, I am beginning to wonder if Bowie is maybe being a bit optimistic when he says we've got five years...
  22. Sleep well, ma fée. Have a great time tomorrow (today now). I'm looking forward to heading to England at the end of he month to celebrate my youngest nephew's 30th birthday (my mother's youngest grandchild).
  23. Sad to say that I can believe it...
  24. Define "normal" 'cause I wasn't aware that "normal" was our default setting. Perhaps that's why Gary only said almost normal...
