  1. Doesn't require more fruit. Maybe more sugar (depending on the ripeness of the gooseberries.
  2. Very belated greetings back at you, Albert!
  3. A heart warming short story by Ron, which truly lives up to its title. Perhaps have the tissues at hand before you start reading it.

    Chapter 1

As is so often the case with me, I have arrived at the party extremely late. Wonderful, story, @Ronyx!
  5. I'm not sure whether my raspberry canes are just a later variety, or if the fact that they are only just starting to form fruits is due to the fact that they were bought with bare roots back around February, and just need to build up their reserves during this first year...
  6. Is there a possibility it might be some reaction to the baby poop you massaged into your hair...? Being more serious, did you hear it when you were lying on your right hand side in bed with your ear pressed against the pillow. If so, it may just be your own pulse you are hearing/feeling. It happens to me very occasionally.

  8. Coming along well, thanks. Especially the vegetable garden. Also got blackcurrants almost ripe, raspberries in full flower, and already picking strawberries. Flower garden progressing. Four clumps of (pre-existing) hollyhocks in flower, but they are all the same colour (pink). Have seedlings in pots of a multi-coloured variety that I intend planting out next spring, and should give a lot more colour. Also have aquilegia seedlings potted on for next year, and some lavender seedlings ready to pot on. Roses are in bloom, along with calendula, lupins, and climbing nasturtiums starting to cover parts of the garden walls. I've some lupin seedlings coming along to replace ones that are several years old and starting to lose some of their vigour. Various other flowers, some of which I admit not being sure what they are, as they were in the garden when I bought this place.
  9. Greetings, Albert!
  10. I have two gooseberry bushes (from which I intend taking cuttings in the autumn so as to increase the number). But I only make pies from the gooseberries themselves. I never knew you could make pies from the bushes as well!
  11. But it helps. My doctor is a babe. So is mine. Not only that, but he is one of the best family doctors I've ever had. He never rushes into any diagnosis, and always discusses anything with me, even what prescriptions he may be suggesting. Some of my friends jokingly say that I have the hots for him when they hear me sing his praises...
  12. He is there to make you better, not (just) eye candy But maybe looking at the eye candy is helping Albert feel better... Sort of a case of....
  13. I am glad your doing it and not me Oh, I'm sure clo would just love to put the colour in your hair for you, Albert!
  14. Look at it positively, your body sees the 'baddies' and fights them adequately, your immune system works very well. Take that COVID! What Adi said!
  15. Greetings, young Albert!
  16. You don't need to mention the cats for us to know that.

    Stranger Kids

    Same thought crossed my mind.

    The Fox

Okay, now I'm getting just a wee bit confused. There are no story tags to suggest this story might involve shape-shifters, were-creatures, or magic. But this chapter suggests that it may be moving in one or more of those directions. Not that I'm really complaining. I'm not sure why Owen seems so freaked out about his brother catching him wanking. It could have been worse - say his mother, or his younger sister. My biggest shock around that age was opening my eyes after a quite intensive self-induced orgasm, only to find the window cleaner at my bedroom window. I quickly pulled the bedclothes over me, and I think it took me about five minutes before I dared look back at the window... (By the way, when you mentioned onion-flavoured chips, I am assuming you meant what would be called crisps in England, where chips are actually what would be called fries - or French fries - in America).

    The Drummer Boy

I, like @Daddydavek, also didn't realise that the interview was only happening inside Owen's head. Perhaps, in a future edit, that could be made a bit clearer...? That said, an interesting and readable first chapter.
  21. Sweet dreams to you, as well, Gary.
