I feel your pain, Gary. I really do. Hang on in there, buddy. The vaccine is slowly being rolled out. I find myself keep repeating the mantra: "This, too, shall pass."

When all this started it was suggested it would last until the summer of 2020. Now I hear government and health spokespeople suggesting it might go on into 2022. I try to look on the bright side as much as possible, but I'd be lying if I said there aren't some days when I feel really down. Apologies if the poem bought bad memories back, Val.

Nicely done! Both the senryu and the poem. I particularly liked the way you sprinkled a number of religious words and phrases into the poem. Gave it a sort of mischievous blasphemy.

I'm somewhat worried about saying this to a self-confessed smile thief, but thanks for making me smilE. Actually I do tend to smile a lot of the time, so I can afford to lose the occasional one.

Brilliant! I think the whole isolation thing can be even worse for those of us that live alone normally. Although, I have heard reports that some abusive situations in couples and families have got worse during lockdown. I'm just hoping we get some semblance of normality back before too long.

Typical Weather eventually dried up and I got out in the garden for a few hours. Finished the first turn of the potato beds, and also did bit of other general tidying.

And that was probably just in the last 5 minutes ... In which case it was behind my back as well, as I've not spoken to anyone in well over an hour. Bar-stewards! They don't have the courage to say it to my face!

Currently just after 12:45pm here. 11°C/52°F with intermittent rain for most of the morning. My weather app is suggesting the afternoon/evening should be mainly dry, so I should be able to finish preparing the ground for the potatoes. It's currently looking as though this period of unsettled weather will be with us for the next number of days.
