    Chapter 2

Yes, the boys are hot for lunch but also for each other. Having a shower in your office is helpful afterward. Thanks for reading. Mac
  3. I was startled awake when I heard singing coming from the library. The power had flickered, and that was all it took for the stereo to come on. “To make you laugh, I would be a fool for you, Although the people turn and stare, I really don’t care.” Damn, Aretha and her singing. “We’ll blow a genie from a cigarette, Then we’ll take a magic carpet ride.” Fuck, Aretha. No more. No fucking more. “On me, oh my.” I was bounding f

    Chapter 1

Thanks, Doha. It is good, but scary, to be back. Pate and Timmy have some serious work to do. In some ways, Timmy is ahead of Pate in growing up. It will be an interesting ride for them. Thanks for reading.

    Chapter 1

Thanks Pvtguy. Yep, we all have to grow up at some point. Pate is taking a little longer than some.
  6. I walked into the house and looked around. Nothing seemed to have been touched or moved. I didn’t know where Blue may have hidden anything. Where the fuck would he have stashed drugs in my house? There were so many places; I looked around the library and could already see a thousand nooks and crannies. Why had I been so stupid to let him into my house? Surely, it was Michelle’s fault. She had me feed him that first time, and from that point forward, it was all downhill. Duh, of course, i
  7. “Shoulder Season” is the sequel to “The Boys of Summer.” Pate and Timmy explore what it means to be in a relationship over the fall and winter months on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. This book commences on Labor Day weekend after Pate has sent Timmy home with his grandmother to protect him from a possible drug investigation. The ying and yang of their shared life plays out in both challenging and revelatory ways as they figure out what it means to be a couple.
  8. Thank you for a great story. I enjoyed it immensely. Thank you for bringing up the MH issues that Luke is dealing with. I can hardly wait for your next story!!
  9. It is a book I will go back to time and again. I love what Di Canzio did with the story and his homage to Forster's work. The tone and style of the writing felt familiar yet the story line was new. I agree with you about bringing Kitty into the story. However, that did set it up for an unexpected opportunity and ending. Alec did get to cross the ocean, after all. Mac
  10. I read the book in the early 1970s when I came out. I still have that copy and at times think I should read it a second time. Then I look at all of the contemporary fiction waiting to be read and never venture down that torturous path again. It was of a time and place. Mac
  11. I found the book lived into the genre. I enjoyed it immensely and have re-read it 3 times. As one of the older generation, I enjoyed experiencing the youthfulness and it gave me pause to wonder how I would act as a 20 something in today's world. Clearly a fun romp and I enjoyed the ride. Mac
  12. Thank you for a wonderful story that is so relevant in today's world. Your characters are so realistic and easy to understand their emotions and actions. I look forward to reading more of your work.

  14. Pvtguy, Sorry to leave you hanging. I have other books to finish and post (Divine Intervention, Fall Into Fall, & a new book about the life saving stations on Hatteras Island) before I write book 4. I promise it is on my list for the future. Mac
  15. Drsawzell, Somehow that sounds like life. LOL. Mac
  16. “Hey, big guy, we need to have a meeting.” “Okay, little guy.” They both laughed. “Seriously, Ayal, what now? Ayal hesitated and said that it involved Erick and Todd and there would be dinner. Yonatan was perplexed because he had hoped that after his apologies at the very expensive dinner at the Williamsburg Inn, that everything was okay. Not great, but okay. Yonatan wondered why Ayal was coordinating the meeting and why his lawyer needed to be present? To further complicate

    Big Mistake

Yonatan is his own worst enemy....sometimes. He needs a mentor that will help him grow into manhood. Who is that mentor that can be trusted? He had a great mentor in Mr. Fish at Boy Scout Camp though he turned out to be a something of a twit. But underneath that was a great sense of compassion and caring for Yonatan and was helping him grow. Anton, it has been a tough winter and spring but things are getting better. The hospital screwed up on several levels. The doctors discovered a mass in Joe's chest - this week they did a bronchoscopy and determined it was a pocket of infection deep in his lung. He is on antibiotics and that should resolve. Joe has recovered from his heart attack and is feeling better than he has in years. I have recovered from my bout of Covid with no long term effects. I had both Moderna shots. Hopefully, I won't need a booster. So, my life is returning to normal as I try to spend time writing. Mac

    Big Mistake

Remember that Yonatan and Matan are boys. Really they are. They don't have enough life experience to finesse situations. Pure gut instinct to survive. Mac

    The Aftermath

Thank you for reading the book. Todd is involved in the security threat - the question is does he know it? He is a willing accomplice so that Erick and Eron can get their fair share of the family money or is he being manipulated? Love the uncertainty of his motivation. Mac

    The Aftermath

Growth is hard. Often with lots of drama. Ultimately, things get resolved in a way none of them expect.
  23. Mac Rountree

    The Aftermath

Yonatan is in way over his head and is reacting as the boy he is. He is learning to be a man but it is a hard journey for him. Todd's behavior does have an explanation that will be revealed. Thanks for reading. Mac
  24. Yes, he is. In some ways he is mature but still a spoiled child at the most basic level. Mac
