Hopefully we can settle on the issue of well-meaning "interjection" ...
-
It is probably my own personal shortcoming, but husband and I very likely would not have survived the interjection of "interested" str8 couples "all up in our business". My lack of skills in what a mental health professional I know describes as "non-judgmental communication" prevents me saying more...... Tom

I really love this story, but personally the earlier concerns expressed about Grant and the journal are minor compared with the "concerned" gossiping among the "squad". Tom

Oh holy cow!!! What a chapter... the elephant in the room got up, moved in close, did the ole frotage dance, "and then the fun began"!!! It's been over 25 years ago for me, but I remember oh so well the "dances", the feelings, and the undeniable realization I was gay. You've done an incredible job of describing some of the many possible scenarios surrounding that realization! Tom

Oh let's see here... was there a 1 ton "elephant" in the house for the holiday? Is there a "denial cycle" for people in Grant's situation? Really great chapter. I do love to see a plot thicken... Tom

What an incredible chapter!!! So many positive things beginning to happen for the guys. But in addition to his domineering mother, Grant is in the beginning stages of adding up the occurences in his life (like his engagement not "working", and unexplained interest in Troy with wood springing up). Let me just hazzard the guess that Grant has an "oh hell, guess I must be gay" moment coming. Been there, had one of those moments... makes the pattern way easier to recognize. Tom

What a quandry for BOTH our guys... in how many ways. Generally speaking I'm a big proponent of looking for the safe and rational way through situations, but sometimes totally clear thinking is really hard to come by. In some situations total adherence to the safe path results in missing opportunities we need to grab and run with. Just an observation from having lived a lot of life out in that terrible "gray area" on life's journey. Tom

Great chapter Wayne! Going from a "keystone" chapter to an "emotional cliff-hanger" makes me ready for things to really start rolling. Count me in for the ride... Tom

Funny thing about excellent carpenters who will take on small jobs... if you own property it's pretty easy to be ok with them. They are a real treasure when you can find them. Tom

Great chapter Wayne! Eagerly waiting to see what the keystone holds together... Tom

I guess if it is Thursday, then it will be Barre.... Tom

This chapter has been like dancing on egg shells for both Grant and Tony, (and empathetically for me too). There's a terrible amount of stress on Grant trying to find the way to help an unsettled Troy, and probably an even greater stress on Troy trying to deal with his unresolved grief and accept help at the same time. Hopefully Grant can find the skillset and Troy can find the acceptance to begin moving forward. Tom

GREAT chapter Wayne! Grant still makes me smile, but Troy pretty much just makes me cry. I have high hopes about these story lines meeting... Grant knows enough already that the meeting can't really be easy, and heaven only knows how gut wrenching the meeting has to be for Troy. Tom

Great scene setting chapter. I read Grant and I smile... and I read Troy and I sigh... (yeah and cry some too). Once again, the structure, development, and writing just keep pulling me into the story. I'm already bought in, and I'm petty sure I'm not alone. Tom

Hey Wayne, It's great to be back in Barre. Count me in for the ride again. I can already relate to Grant's location situation.... I spent my first 20 years trying to get out of SW MO, and the rest of my years trying to stay away. Tom

All of us in the LGBTQ family owe the folks at PBS a tremendous thank you for their support and being the lifeline they have been (and continue to be) for so many of us. Tom

As a story "for anybody who has simply wanted to hold their dearest and most incredible desire close out in the bright light of the sun but couldn't because of fear" you have absolutely hit one out of the ballpark!!! This re-write is so well done that I had an even bigger rush at the conclusion than I did the first go around. Tom

I absolutely wouldn't miss it for the world!!! Tom

Seroconversion can serve as an excellent filter for who is worth moving forward with, and who is just as well left behind. There may be some who can get up to speed with some education, those who don't come up to speed are probably better left behind. Tom

I really love this chapter, the chapters that set the stage for it, and those will follow on. All the elements work together to pull the readers in to experience the story almost like participants. It leaves me with a wonderful warm feeling inside... Tom

Interesting intro and characters, well written. Let's see where we go from here. Tom

This was truly a joyous chapter. What a great read! And this story has seemed like a short read, I had lost track of the fact we only have a couple revised chapters left. Btw... did I catch a drift that Corbin and Paul have new furbabies? Tom

Hey Wayne, Great chapter and thoroughly enjoyable read. Hope we get good resolutions for all our protagonists in spite of their being ill at ease. Hoping you are back up to speed shortly. Tom

You have a whole crew pulling for you... get well soon. Tom

Great chapter Wayne. There's progress, but is there danger? I'm really proud to be along for the ride. Tom
