So, that's one vote for Virginia, one for Bernard and @Summerabbacat 's vote yet to come. -

Oh so true, and haven't we seen a perfect example of that, in real life, over the past four years. -

“Prism! Steadman! Phone! Immediately!” “Right away Sir, shall I tell him what it’s about?” “Yes, you can tell him he’s in deep shit.” “...um...yes...sir.” <> “Good morning Jonathan, Prism seems to think there’s a problem. How can I help?” “I would like to say your resignation will help, but I’m not going to let you off that easily.” “What’s happened?” “Have you read this morning’s newspaper?” “No, I don’t buy newspapers, but which one, I’ll get- 7 comments

You are an evil lot today. @Summerabbacat, wants the Fixer, via Jared to do away with Tom Shand. @NimirRaj, wants Desmond to dob. and @ReaderPaul, wants Thomas, Jared, Andy and Edward all to deal with Tim Shand, a man "only doing his job" as journos and fond of saying in their defense. My twists and turns pale into insignificance compared to what your evil minds come up with. You do worry me. SPOILER ALERT - I don't see any of your predictions in the future, this time. A rarity indeed! Oh, and I forgot to mention what a beautiful sounding word is Paramour. Research shows its use has declined from a rating of 8 in the 1800s to 2 in the 2000s. I guess Mistress has replaced it for females and we really don't have a common word for males. Is that because it's consider ok for males? So bring back paramour!

Yes, off to bed and think about it tomorrow.

The incident at The Candidate did not go unnoticed by members of the media table. In fact one journalist was there for most of the time as he had sensed something happening when Virginia made a pass at Justin and asked him to accompany her to Jonathan’s table. As the two women walked away to the toilet, he attempted to follow them but was stopped by Jared. “Hey, hands off matey, it’s still a free country.” “Only so long as I say it is.” replied Jared “The ladies room is off limits

Everyone, meet @ReaderPaul the poet. I won't even try to emulate your alliterative prose. As for your predictions, oh yes there will be consequences. I hope you don't stay up to such an hour just to catch the next chapter of CWB. @NimirRaj, I am not sure if I enjoyed or was revolted by the image of you loosing control. One would hope that a man of your age would have superb bladder control and therefore you lost control via raucous laughter. And a punster as well! Either way, everyone’s bound to need a stif drink. That's what caused all this. @Summerabbacat, you've got me wondering about something. After reading your para starting with, @Wombat Bill another chapter and another talent displayed, I had a moment of reflection and am now concerned that is may not be a talent but the real wombat letting loose on these occasions. And you have the hots for Snowy now.

That’s Entertainment
Wombat Bill posted new chapter in Catering With Benefits (3) - An Appetite for More
At the completion of the main course, Max whispered to Charles and Trevor “Please keep an eye on Chris. I don’t know what his problem is with Price but can you stop him from bolting over while I’m not here. Try to distract him until the entertainment starts, then that should keep him occupied for a while.” They both nodded in agreement, then Max took to the stage and made an announcement, “Good evening again ladies and gentlemen, I hope you enjoyed the meal and the wines on offer. I didn't think HE would take offence, but the rest of YOU may want equal billing.

@NimirRaj, You do want to stir up trouble, don't you? @ReaderPaul, Knives out for Rani? @Summerabbacat, I will not allow discussion of haemorrhoids on this site. wombatbill, has inadvertently named a character after a CWB groupie, so to correct this imbalance others may have to make cameo appearances some time in the future.

One week after the Dare to Bare party, Daniel presented before a magistrate. When he was required to identify himself and his occupation, for the court record, he gave that as a waiter, which strictly speaking he was. He just failed to mention he was a sky waiter, as any such conviction could be detrimental to his employment. He was given a fine and a two year good behaviour order. *** Thomas had the managers of Poppy’s, Dean’s and Divas all primed and ready to run his first official f

I had to look that one up, as I had never seen it written before. I am familiar with the strange pronunciation of W, but read this as DOO BY A as in city in the UAE. Oh well that's us simple folk.
-
I think it's deliberate to fool the drug dealers. While they are trying to work out the meaning of what's written on the cops car, they swoop in and arrest them.

We are simple folk in NSW. We say what we mean.

Sorry @ReaderPaul, DOG means

Yes, the cops were tipped off @NimirRaj- by their computer. "When the call was received at Darlinghurst police station, the desk sergeant logged it on the computer and was immediately alerted that the address had previously been a place of interest to the drug squad." Remember, the previous tenant was a drug dealer fronting as an herbal medicine shop. OMG @Summerabbacat, now you know, I'm sure you will soon feel the symptoms of FOMO, where previously you may not have.

Over the next month Edward’s redundancy application was accepted, he started his marriage celebrant’s course and with more spare time, spent many days hanging around Dean’s Bar. It was not so much for the drinks but to familiarise himself with the function room and make plans for its use. One of those plans was to have it given a separate name. The restaurant was called Poppy’s, the bar now named Dean’s, so Edward figured the function room needed its own identity. When he put this suggestio

Must be the Shared Genes
Wombat Bill commented on Wombat Bill's story chapter in Must be the Shared Genes
@Summerabbacat, on behalf of Jared - OUCH! What naughty thoughts you have @NimirRaj. @ReaderPaul, no commitment? I am disappointed! -
I was torn between giving you all a love or a wow. Why wow, because there are some clever predictions among your comments. I settled on a love because I love the way you all present your well reasoned arguments. Just one clarification @NimirRaj, the contents of the pockets were from all the clothes that were being washed, not just Jared's. Oh dear @Summerabbacat, even I hadn't thought of Jonathan doing it with a rent boy in the back of the Roller. So that's one prediction you can rule out. But what a delicious idea. @ReaderPaul, your predictions scare me. My replies are minimal because if I say more I might say too much.

The Campaign Starts
Wombat Bill posted new chapter in Catering With Benefits (3) - An Appetite for More
The following day Jared and Thomas went to work at Crystalline. Thomas worked in his office, on ideas for the campaign, while Jared busied himself in the gym, cleaning equipment and working out. Jonathan Price called his secretary and asked “Prism, please get Thomas Steadman on the phone.” “Yes Sir, right away.” When Thomas came on the line, “I want you to come into the office now and bring Jared with you we have business to discuss. It’s time we got this election campaign started- 4 comments

“Oh that hot water feels so good.” said Justin as he came from the shower. “It washed away all the grubbiness of the day.” “Sounds like a good idea, I’m next.” Justin lay on his back feeling good about life and happy that he and Jared had used the evening to talk and rid themselves of bad feelings. Now all they would share would be love for each other. Jared came from the bathroom and sat on the end of the bed drying his hair. “Feel better now?” asked Justin. “Yes, I fee- 5 comments

Only Jessica, Justin, Julia and Jared attended the service at the funeral home chapel, but they did not proceed to the crematorium. Craig had offered to cater for a small after service function, but Justin declined, preferring instead to have drinks with Jared as previously arranged. Jared chose a bar in a pub on the edge of the city. They met there and got down to some serious drinking. “Well Bro.” said Jared, it’s over, he’s gone forever. Now all we have to do is flush him out of our syst

I’ll Find a Quiet Little Bar
Wombat Bill commented on Wombat Bill's story chapter in I’ll Find a Quiet Little Bar
Understood entirely @chris191070. I apologise for the bad timing. @Summerabbacat & @ReaderPaul, Your discomfort with this chapter has been noted. I will not offer explanations as I believe it is your privilege, as a reader, to interpret and and react in your own way. I don't want to put ideas in your head or explain the characters reasons for acting in a particular way, when you may believe something different. But I am left with mixed feelings. Should I feel good that I have created a work that has you so involved it evokes these feelings or have I simply done it for shock value. A writer, like a parent, does their best and them sets their work/children free to find its/their own way in the world. Thank you all, your involvement is much appreciated.
