Edward and Romel were invited to the radio station end of year party where Edward was surprised to get compliments on his work for the program. It seems the management committee had already heard the program and all were full of praise for Edward’s work. When Romel went to get some drinks, Edward was approached by a young man who introduced himself, “Hello Edward I’m Scott, the Chair of the committee.” “Pleased to meet you Scott, this is a great party you have going here.” “Thank you Edw

By now Justin was appearing shirtless at most functions so he decided that a little jewellery might be added to his look. He had his nipples pierced and bought a set of nipple rings. Craig had never even thought of having any piercings but was impressed with Justin’s. He thought the nipple rings looked quite sexy on Justin as they really accentuated his perky nipples. This gave Craig an idea about a more exotic way of serving some of his food. He purchased a gondola shaped sterling silver s

Craig had previously promised Justin a night at a drag pub, so he spoke to Edward and between them they arranged a night at Drag City for a special show headlined by Anna Sole, a friend of Edward’s and a top drag queen of the time. It was an old gay pub that had recently undergone a make-over and upgraded to specifically stage drag shows. It was a typical club set up with a bar at one end and a variety tables, stools and booths set around a catwalk that led to a stage at the back of the room

HIGH HEELS, SEQUINS AND BIG HAIR DON’T REALLY WORK ON RADIO
Wombat Bill posted new chapter in Catering with Benefits (1)
The ‘In the Mood’ project was eventually approved and rehearsals were planned to begin six months later. Tristan was appointed lead male dancer and could not be happier. He was keen to tell his friends of his latest dance role so he texted them to meet for drinks. They all met at their favourite bar which was very busy on that night so they all crowded around a small table normally meant for two. “Glad you could all come tonight, how is everybody?” asked Tristan, hoping to be able to ope- 3 comments

When Tristan heard there was a new work by his favourite choreographer, Dale Spender, to be workshopped by the dance company, he lobbied hard to get the opportunity to be part of the cast. Dale Spender had not yet named the piece and felt a title would come to him during the workshopping period. Tristan was successful in getting a role for the workshop but this did not necessarily guarantee a part if and when the work was eventually staged. The piece was workshopped for three weeks. During t

Craig, now confident about his abilities to cater for larger parties, was using a waiter and sometimes an assistant to do food prep. He was so successful and spending more time catering for Sydney’s medical fraternity parties that he found it difficult to juggle the two careers. When he turned up for a small dinner party for some doctors wives, he had just begun his prep work when the waiter he had hired for the night called to say he had a minor car accident on the way to the party and expected

Edward had long wanted to participate in a radio program on 2GAY fm, a local community station that caters to the tastes of Sydney’s gay community. But he did not want to be a DJ or even a chat show host, and that was about all the station was airing at the time. He had been a financial member for many years but had not formally approached the station management for a role in on-air broadcasting. He received all the newsletters and had occasionally done volunteer work to promote the station or r

Some beautiful thoughts Summerabbacat -
A few weeks later, when Justin finally hinted at Craig’s unexplained availability sometimes, Craig had to tell him what he was doing. Craig loved his nursing career, but also had another passion that he had turned into a part-time business. He had about two years ago started a small business catering for private parties. He had learned his skills at the same time as studying nursing. To supplement his study allowance he worked part time at a restaurant. There he had started as a waiter but when

Bugger! I wrote this and didn't notice that the chapter title has a second reference. Well done Chris.

While they were cleaning up, after the dinner, Craig asked Justin what he thought of his friends. “I think they are a really cool bunch of guys. Tristan sounds like he could be lots of fun. Raj is quiet but seems a really nice guy. But Romel and Edward seem like the odd couple. How did Edward become so bitchy and why does Romel put up with him?” “The second part first, Romel can give as good as he gets.” “Well, I did notice that.” “...and they do seem to love each other. I’ve not act

You Might be a Slut After All

Interesting question Chris. OMG I just looked forward and the question won't be answered until chapter 33. Stay calm and keep guessing. -
Upon arrival they were introduced to Justin and gave him a man hug, to show how pleased they were to meet him. Justin took their wines and put them in the kitchen while Craig whispered to his friends that he felt his new man was something special. Last to arrive were Romel and Edward, who were introduced to Justin. Edward took in the full view of Justin, who was wearing a very tight T shirt that showed the shape of his upper body very clearly. Edward was impressed and gave Craig a look that was

Raj asked for the night off from his family’s restaurant, even though it was a Saturday, because he really wanted to be with his friends to meet Craig’s new boyfriend. Raj was born in Australia of Indian parents from the north. They had migrated under a skilled migrants program in the 1990’s and Raj was born shortly afterwards. His father was an engineer, so got a visa and permanent residency on that basis. His mother was an office assistant with Indian Rail and both spoke English. Raj’s fat

Readers who have read the full story made the following comments:- - Wow! What a read! The blurb promises surprises and delivers. - Wow! What a collection of characters to keep this reader wondering what can possibly come next? - For me, the spectrum of sexuality just took on extra hues. - The pace is fast, the situations fun, and the story constantly entertaining. - ...and did I mention surprises?

Romel said goodbye, as Edward left for work, then cleaned up the breakfast dishes and took a shower. He was excited about picking up his new car today, the first car that would be truly his. While in the shower his thoughts went back to the day when his father took him to a used car lot in Manila to buy the family’s first car. Romel was only eight years old at the time, but was just as excited as his father. While his father walked around the car yard, closely shadowed by the salesman, Romel wen

Thirty six years later, Edward was in his kitchen preparing dinner. His partner, Romel was in the living room watching TV with the sound turned down. He thought this might help him learn to lip read. Not, that he had any deaf or mute friends; it was just that he thought he could eavesdrop on other people’s conversations from a distance. He called out to Edward “CAN YOU HEAR ME OUT THERE?” “YES SWEETIE, WHAT DO YOU WANT?” “I RAN INTO CRAIG TODAY AND HE INVITED US TO DINNER ON SATURDAY
