  1. Dolly, Linda and Emmylou got criticised in some quarters for changing one line of lyrics from "And I felt like getting high" to "And I felt like I could cry" which I thought was rather petty, the criticism that is not the lyric change. Amii was, and still is, very beautiful, although it appears she may now be bald, ala Dee Dee Bridgewater. She has lived in your neck of the woods, not far away in Italy since the mid 1980's.
  2. From one bully to another, Thomas Englert aka Franck de Leuw to Aunt Daphne. Out of the frying pan and into the fire. Louis is obviously far keener on Charlie than I realised if he is prepared to pay another visit to that odious woman, and eat whatever she puts in front of him. I hope if it is something which does not agree with Louis' stomach, it makes its presence known before they leave Aunt Daphne's home, vociferously, even if it does embarrass poor Louis at the time. An amusing chapter to begin with; Charlie and Louis' discussion on what makes an ideal relationship very funny. Both seem to have very real expectations, which for the most part accord too. Excellent chapter @Robert Hugill. I had a very amusing image in my head of Thomas Englert and Aunt Daphne facing off in a room together. He ran away with his tail between his legs whilst she licked her lips like the cat who swallowed the canary.
  3. And you probably thought I was just a disco dolly @Mark Ponyboy Peters, LOL. There is more to @Summerabbacat than meets the eye, or should it be the ear in these circumstances?
  4. Me too, absolutely beautiful, like their rendition of Mister Sandman from 1980 and Neil Young's After The Goldrush from Trio Two:
  5. She did Gilbert & Sullivan opera(s). She also recorded a jazz album, one of only three studio albums of her's I do not have on CD and/or vinyl. Her repertoire was extraordinary, and now she cannot sing at all because of her progressive supranuclear palsy. She was/is quite politically motivated too, much like Emmylou (who is also an ardent animal rights supporter). Alice Cooper reportedly hates Linda because she is a real leftie and he is not. She is of Mexican descent too, which would certainly not fit well with the current regime, whom she despises.
  6. Trio is wonderful isn't it? Not one dud track. Their rendition of To Know Him Is To Love Him with Emmylou singing lead vocal is gorgeous. I was only playing it a few days ago. I also have Trio II which is not as good, a bit patchy, but I still like it. I also have Western Wall: The Tucson Sessions by Linda and Emmylou, released the same year as Trio II and it is fantastic. It includes a song written by Bruce Springsteen and he performs guest backing vocals and it is stunning. I have heaps of Emmylou's and Linda's solo albums on CD and some on vinyl too. I also have the album Emmylou recorded with Mark Knopfler from Dire Straits (whom I dislike intensely, the band not Mark himself) entitled All The Roadrunning and it is wonderful. His voice is really well suited to that country/roots/Americana music sound. I also have an album Linda recorded with Anne Savoy as the Zozo Sisters entitled Adieu False Heart, which is essentially all cajun music. Very interesting and enjoyable. And Linda's two albums of Mexican mariachi music and her three albums of standards with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra, sumptuous delights.
  7. Perhaps a little Diamantina Cocktail might help ease the pain @Mark Ponyboy Peters, and a little Witchery couldn't hurt to ensure he gets Home On A Monday, but definitely not to Raelene Raelene. I did not like them at all as a teenager, apart from the song Emma, but have grown to appreciate their musicianship and harmonies. The first album with Curiosity Killed The Cat, It's A Long Way There and the aforesaid Emma is really rather good.
  8. We know how much you love your country music @Mark Ponyboy Peters, but this better not be Rick's fate: 'Cos if it is, @centexhairysub's warning "Okay, first of all, if Rick dies; you better go into protective custody" may bear thinking about, so much so that perhaps you should follow more words of wisdom from Dolly Rebecca, LOL: This is one of the first album's by Dolly I bought and it is a gem. Not a disco song in sight, but I still love it.
  9. "Everything seemed to be spinning around, and the pain in my guts was unbearable . . . as if a red-hot poker had been shoved right through me and out the other side. With some difficulty I managed to look down at my stomach, where I soon found the cause of my problem . . . the wooden handle of a knife was sticking out of me." I assume the knife still being embedded in Rick's gut has saved his life. Thankfully Joe was at the scene and would have had the presence of mind not to pull the wooden-handled knife out or touch it in any way, or allow anyone else to do so. Both Rick and Joe should receive medals, the former for bravery (at least) and the latter for quick thinking and decisive action. Adam and Nick should receive a tongue lashing from Helen, but I imagine their current state of mind is torturing them enough, and frankly they deserve it. Both so incredibly fucking stupid. Riveting stuff @Mark Ponyboy Peters, the cliff hanger worthy of a "Who Shot JR?" award. Luckily it is the long weekend and I don't have to wait until Monday evening to read of Rick's fate. Luckily for Rick no one followed Amii's request. Love this song and Amii was scorching hot.
  10. What fucking part of stay together, do not get separated, did Adam and Nick not understand. If Rick dies, which I think is very unlikely, Adam and Nick should feel very, very, very, very fucking guilty.
  11. It's Martha Wash @weinerdog, one half of The Weather Girls (the other larger half was Izora Armstead), lead singer on a few of Black Box's singles (I Don't Know Anybody Else, Strike It Up and Everybody, Everybody) and vocalist on C&C Music Factory's Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now), to name but a few. And she loves gay men. All the other aging disco divas are either dead (Izora Armstead, Sylvester, Loleatta Holloway, Sarah Dash, Sharon Redd and of course Donna) or would be very unlikely to appear at such an event because of their religious beliefs (Gloria Gaynor). It could have been the stunning and vastly underrated Amii Stewart too (whom @Summerabbacat adores), but she usually has short hair.
  12. Even I am hotter than them and I sure ain't purty.
  13. What an idyllic location @ObicanDecko, and a relaxed charmed lifestyle, working in a kiosk and living within walking distance of the beach. The perfect lifestyle for @Summerabbacat. Noah and Leo, the best of friends, perhaps romance is in their cards.
  14. "I saw the kiss after your tryout. I don't care if you like guys or anything, you're a good player. Anyone ever gives you any shit about being a fruit, you let me know. That guy your boyfriend or something?" Kiwi, grape or passion @Lee Wilson? Given his recent "performance" with Luca, Darren is definitely a passionfruit. The origin of the word "fruit" as applied to gay men is not completely negative from what I have just read on the 'net. Quite fascinating reading. I know next to nothing about hockey. I have never played it, have not watched it being played with any regularity, but on the odd occasion I have watched it I found quite enjoyable, and at times very violent, especially ice hockey in Canada.
  15. I have to agree with you Doris. It seems almost mandatory today's young (and some not so young) gay porn performers have tattoos. Anything from an unobtrusive couple, to a leg or arm sleeve, or to virtually the whole body covered. As for the PA, I find it fascinating to look at, but I just cannot get my head around how much it must have hurt.

    Chapter 34

Anchovy and chocolate chip cookies. It sounds like a craving a pregnant woman might get, but for anyone else no, no, no. Mind you some people eat and enjoy kale. West is mad, the only saving grace is he did not suffer a concussion when Brad and the thugs bashed him. Brad was suspended from school.

    Chapter 33

"Well," Matt grinned, "you know I said that I wasn't picky...right?" "Yeah..." West said cautiously. "It's not Patty Drover is it? 'Cause that is desperation..." "No," Matt shuddered, "not her... it's Blake." I like Matt, but the comment in bold really rankled me. One could turn the comment back on Matt and have Blake say "I'm not picky either short arse". I know she is only child, but Sammy grates on my nerves. I suspect it is because I have an image of her like Cindy Brady, and I could not stand her. I liked The Brady Bunch when I was a youngster, especially Mike, but loathed Cindy. Actually I did not like Marcia much either, she was a stuck up bitch. Mike was definitely my favourite. Woof.

    Chapter 32

Stunad - that's almost a Hugillism @drsawzall. I have never seen it in print or heard it before. Brad deserves more than a hiding, a fucking hiding at least. Joey was stupid to not at least remove the drugs from his person before he started railing on Brad. What a week for Jonathan and Martha Harding.

    Chapter 31

I wonder if the tall blonde man Joey ploughed into is Brad? If so, don't leave him standing Joey. Peter is adorable. Hawaiian shirts and all, in fact, especially because of his Hawaiian shirts. I don't have as many as @drsawzall, but I have a few and they are very "loud".
  20. You're no fun. Is it the old Sydney vs Melbourne rivalry? Or is it because Kylie just has you: And you have to admit, surely, Kylie looks hot hot hot in this video. At least they are better than those trashy Kar&%#$ian creatures. They make me wanna puke.
  21. Ouch! OMG @Robert Hugill, it's just gotta hurt. And the thought of an infection, which I am all too familiar with. Pissing razor blades is no fun. Irma is a trooper, not at all phased by all the open frank discussions about cocks, balls and butt sex. Rory and Slav continue to surprise and delight each other. What a refreshing relationship they have.
  22. And now for the theme of the party: Brilliant chapter @Mark Ponyboy Peters. I felt I was one in my 20's and 30's again, eagerly awaiting viewing the parade, checking out those in the parade and those watching it. And like a few of my fellow readers have said, and to quote Dannii's gorgeous sister, the Tension is building.
  23. Showing once again why they ruled the charts in Australia in our youth @Mark Ponyboy Peters, a song so fitting for this chapter it's as if Frida and Agnetha read this story before any of us.
  24. "There is one other thing that I think everyone needs to be aware of, sir,’ I added. ‘Which is?’ ‘Corcoran has recently taken to changing his appearance, so if we are looking for him today chances are, especially for anyone who hasn’t actually seen him yet, that he could walk right by us and not even be recognised. He has become something of a chameleon . . ." OMG @Mark Ponyboy Peters! Corcoran is not going to be dressed as his cousin, Daniella, a dyke on a bike, he is going to be dressed as the most famous and most fabulous Danielle in the world, one who is no stranger to Mardi Gras, one who along with her sister, is a gay icon, one whom I imagine you are as rapt in as her sister. Another Melburnian goddess.
  25. Thank you Vernon.
