  5. Well, as I am the only child of my parents, I don't have any siblings. But I got two Rakhis today from my two cousin "sisters" who stay in town. They came around at 1:00pm and made me wake up and go take a bath (Anyone who knows me knows that I am NOT a morning person and I NEED atleast 12-14 hrs of sleep... Yeah right! Go ahead and call me a lazy A$$. I can't help it. I just love to sleep) Back to the Rakhi occassion.... Well, I got up, cleaned myself up and then they came and tied those beautiful threads with miniature teddys and a Ganesha in it. They were beautiful. My cousins then gave me a feast of my fav. sweets - Kaju Katli (Barfi), Gulab Jamuns, Moti-Pakh etc. Those sweets were delicious. But then came the demand thing I had to shelve out a 1000 bucks for each of them (Man, I need to curb their demands next year). But I got a kiss on either cheeks by both of them and I swear I would have turned pink if I had a Caucasian skin But the event was good and it ended with me promising to help, guide and protect them as long as I am on this earth Anyway, I just hope that this tradition should be celebrated by every brother and sister in this world as it helps in making the bond stronger and makes you feel more closer to each other HAPPY RAKSHABANDHAN to all !! PS. Thanks Beasty for starting this thread
  6. Woah!! I really missed it I was in Delhi and was staying in a hotel room (as I didn't get a hostel yet) and had to stay inside the hotel and watch the entire I-day parade on TV (I didn't have a pass to go watch it LIVE). Man, I was in Delhi and I couldn't go and watch the parade!! F**k!! And yeah, sorry for posting late. I didn't have a computer with me to access the net and the mobile servives are way too high (I was on roaming that time) As for Beasty, I know he's one of the most patriotic guys I've ever come across. And in no ways, I come close to what he can/wishes to do for India Its a good thing that you started this thread Beasty

  8. Beastkid, did u ever come to the North-East of India?? If you do, dont forget to visit me Well, Beastkid has already described a lot about India, so I dont think I need to say much. Though its a beautiful country, its also one of the bigotted societies. I had a major discussion with Viv about this sometime back. She was like... Is that so?? I was like...Mmhmm But yeah, with all the beauty and the not so beautiful stuff, India is one amazing place and I am very happy to call myself an Indian (maybe not that proud like Beastkid ) The country that I would love to visit is the US to meet Viv. As I've already travelled to Canada, I can vouch for it as a place-you-must-visit

  18. Happy Friendship Day to you, too, Beastkid. And of course, to all you guys "In poverty and other misfortunes of life, true friends are a sure refuge" - Aristotle "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends" - Jesus (John 15:3 - The Bible)
  19. Am smiling today cos after a month long struggle to write the first chapter of my story, I completed it at last
  20. OMG!! U girls really love kittys I thought Viv and my mom were the only obsessed kitty fans...but now I get the picture Well, I have lots of pigeons and one of them broke a wing by falling inside the chimney shaft. Don't ask me how it fell in...I just found it cooing inside the fire-place. Thank god its summer here. Or else the piggy would have been toast or "tandoori" as we call it here in India I took it to the Vet but they told that they wouldn't be able to reat her as the doc is away or something and asked me to take it to the vet again tomorrow. But they put some bandages to hold the wing in place. So I think I did my best that I could and helping the piggy was HUGE for me today..hehehe
