So to you, simply walking down a street to grab a coffee is seeking publicity? Because that's what most paparazzis shots (which are such on high demand, as you say) are of her. And obviously, the more they harass her, the more likely she's going to snap. I know you want to think she's some Goddess who can take anything, but she's only human. When she shaved her head, not only was she at a difficult point in her life but the constant bullying from paparazzis took its toll. Obviously, since they're always there, they caught that moment. Logic. And excuse me, but Britney Spears doesn't need paparazzis to stay in the minds of people. It's not by being in a tabloid for eating doritos that she became the 8th Best Selling Artist in American Music History. Way before this mess, she already marked her name down in the music world, whether you like it or not. Publicity stunts she did, or participated in, were the famous kiss with Madonna (Christina kissed Madonna too, but that went unnoticed), dancing with a snake, wearing a illusioned-diamond outfit in Toxic. She didn't ask for paparazzis to violently tail her through her daily routines. If that sort of publicity helped to sell, then Paris Hilton's album should be the best selling album of all time, or Lindsay Lohan's movies should've been incredible blockbusters. Were they? No. Because that sort of publicity doesn't serve any purpose but to ruin someone's image. Again, I'm pretty sure a lot of people here went through periods in their lives where they went "apeshit bersek" which would compare to shaving a head. All you have to do is go in some parts of this very forum to find some stories of the like. But hey, those people are in need and were in a difficult position, so we can feel for them. And we would be cruel to not feel for them. But if it's Britney Spears, then no, she's just seeking publicity and there's no way she's going through a hard time. But contrary to Britney Spears, your actions are not recorded and discussed at length. And you have the luxury to deal with your issues on your own and at your own pace. Simply saying "oh any publicity is good publicity" doesn't work all the time. The paparazzis have always been ferocious. Go ask Lady Di.

When was the last time a pack of aggressive paparazzis chased you while you were driving your car with your kids and knocking on the vehicle and windows, trying to take pictures at the same time? When was the last time you went for a coffee and 30 paparazzis tailed you within inches yelling and screaming and blinding you with their camera flashes? When was the last time you were walking with your baby in your arms and have several paparazzis bumping into you and blocking your way? Please, do tell. I'm curious to hear about your experiences.

So, what is shocking isn't the fact that photographers go as low as possible to get shots such as the "vagina" shots? (Oh by the way, classy Christina Aguilera also showed the world her vagina, while being pregnant on top of that, but apparently since her name isn't Britney Spears, it doesn't matter.) The car incident; she was getting away from paparazzis who don't even care that there're babies around and blind them with flashes and scare them but I guess one must think that's alright since people were shocked that Britney didn't wear panties and not that someone bent down to have that angle shot. But then again, why not keep the babies in the house all the time, right? They don't deserve to go out or anything, since they're Britney's babies. Those superstars, what do they think? That they can take their kids out to enjoy a nice day? Fools! If they do, then they're just attention seekers. Good for them if the babies get hurt or worse. That'll teach them! Making a fool of herself at parties? So, she doesn't have the right to enjoy herself like everyone else? How many of you here have made fools of yourselves at parties? Or elsewhere? And if you're going to use the "but she's a mother" argument, then I'm guessing mothers are condemned to not party and have a good time? (And let's not forget that she doesn't party with her babies in her arms.) With that said, she should've known better than not to wear underwear given her situation, and driving without a seatbelt was dangerous but she made a mistake while rushing to get away from people who were scaring her children. (But I'm guessing the biased opinions about her, it's easier for people to think she's a terrible mother and all that. Makes them feel better about themselves, I guess.) I believe she's at a point where she simply doesn't give a f**K about what people think of her. Whatever she does, she'll be burned to the stake. She can't leave the country to go to a saner place because of her divorce in process. No wonder she enjoyed her stay in France and other places in Europe, because guess what? Not one paparazzi shot of her was taken during her visits. Why? Because the law is so severe against those people that they leave the country for the USA, otherwise they'd need to find another job. I wonder how long would all those who easily spit on her would last in her shoes, being constantly bullied by the media and the tabloids. Constantly criticized for doing what everybody else does, like apparently, partying is a no-no for her. Or go to the supermarket. Or buy food that she wants. And have your every little mistake showed to the world and being pointed at and laughed at every time. P.S. This isn't personal against rknapp, just responding to his post.

Oh you mean Britney became famous like Paris Hilton? Did Paris Hilton sell over 80millions albums worlwide? Is Paris Hilton in the top 10 best selling American artists of all time? Does Paris Hilton bring happiness to thousands and thousands of people worldwide with her music? No. Therefore, not the same deal. The reason why paparazzis and the world focus on Britney Spears is because she fascinates them. I mean when Britney goes to buy a chocolate, the whole world will read about it even though they say they don't care. You say she seeks these things out, eh? Like when she does normal things like going to a restaurant, grocery shopping, etc? That's asking to be criticized? What does Matt Damon's mom along with other celebrities mothers have to do with this? They are not artists those mothers. Their children are. It's not Christina Aguilera's mom who is a singer, it's her daughter. Britney IS a mother. Have you seen the media harassing Christina Aguilera during her pregnancy? Has the media called her fat because she's pregnant? So for Celine being underage and being with Rene, her manager, who's old enough to be her Dad, that's not a big deal? Nice. Good to know only some people are judged for their actions while others can do as they please because "it's not a big deal" or because "they're famous. We can insult them as much as we want!"

Some of them were being homophobic, others seemed more like they were teasing. But overall, yeah, just like on forums and other places where you are annonymous, it's easier to spread hatred. Never played Halo, looks pretty awesome though. Wish I had an XBox360 and a PS3... Wish I had money to buy them. lol

"Gimme More" skyrockets to #1 on Q100. This is a radio station in Atlanta, and after the VMAs, the song was requested by HUNDREDS of people. Here's what the DJ said about it, "I don't know HOW this is possible, but the requests for this song are going crazy again!" Right after the VMAs, this DJ said he thought the song would now flop as nobody would request it. Guess he was wrong. Very wrong.

Well, MTV 'officially' confirmed that they screwed up with her performance. They are not even allowed to show the performance in reruns anymore. Oh, and her single has just entered the Billboard Hot100 with only 2 weeks of airplays, which is quite a feat. And her song didn't even drop a spot, even after this one bad performance, it actually gained positions. So... I don't think she will have trouble selling her album when it drops in November.

Lol, well, it's his choice. I've met metal heads (what metal fans call themselves sometimes) who make him look quite tame. Besides, when you're passionate about something or someone, you always tend to be over-the-top about it. And we live in a time where "bloggers" get air time on television now, people starting their 'careers' via YouTube and such. The more 'eccentric' you are, or are perceived to be, the better the chances of you getting a spot on some talk show somewhere.

The effeminate fan who has a huge collection of her things? Yeah, I've seen it.

Meh, I do agree the performance was a lackluster but the thing I don't agree on is people giving her so much crap about it. She never claimed she was going to do the most amazing performance of all time, the media did, the people did, and now they act as if she said "I am going to be the hottest shit at the VMAs". She never hypes herself up. Never, not once. But people still make as if she's some "Kanye West" type, that just runs his mouth and filled with arrogance. Also, I have seen backdrops fall on a stage, knocking people performing, people forgetting lines, moves, stumble, bump into a prop, and I myself even made mistakes but I kept going on because that's the only thing you can do. And she did continue performing. But you can't compare her to just any performer who had bad things happen on stage. I don't mean in the "oh she's better" way, but in the "the media is going to rip her apart as soon as one flaw appears" way. Yes, you say photos were taken for the things you mentioned and were on MySpace, but were they all over the news media? Did tons and tons of people rip them apart? No, the scale is different. Love her, or hate her, she is the person everybody is talking about at the moment when it comes to the VMAs. The pressure in that case is a bit different. And yes, she can handle the pressure, but she's only human.

In the past 48hrs, the only person people are talking about when it comes to the VMAs: Britney Spears. What do the media ask other artists these days? "What did you think of Britney's performance?" And whenever the "VMAs" are mentioned in an article, it's only to talk about Britney or how someone reacted to her performance. Was there any other performers at the VMAs? Was the show about anything else except Britney's performance? Doesn't seem like it when you read the articles and the discussion threads. Anywayz, wanna know why she didn't dance as great as usual? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DoiS80H4YEo And guys don't worry, her single "Gimme More" is still heating up, and one 'not so great' performance is not going to end her career. A lot of things happened backstage at the VMAs which contributed to this performance not being what it should've been. Her album is still one of the most anticipated of the year, and you know what's gonna happen next time she'll perform? Everybody will be watching, again.

Further proves that The Rock is awesome!

Concerning JKRowling's attitude to slash fanfics, I think she actually made a few winks to those fans in the last two books. The 6th Book, Malfoy had a big part and Harry was completely obsessed with him and at some point, it was told that he enjoyed having power over Malfoy (when he realized Draco was in the Room of Requirements and couldn't get out because Harry was there). I laughed at that because I thought it was JK's way of a wink to those fans who love the Harry/Draco slash. And in the 7th Book, the scene where Harry saves Draco has the latter holding onto Harry for dear life, can you imagine that on film? It's nothing"gay" but has Draco ever held onto Harry like that, ever? And also, Lupin's werewolf status is basically a play on the "homosexual". He is fired from the School in Book 3 (I think) because parents were "outraged" that a "werewolf" was teaching their children. Finally, Dumbledore and Grindelwalt (sp?) relationship can be seen as ambiguous. So, no, I don't think J.K.R. is homophobic at all. She may have her own vision of families, romances, and stuff, but I doubt she dislikes the slash fans, etc. Also, the first 4 books, at least, are aimed at children. This is, after all, a children's book series, though the last three are of a more mature level, but at the base, it is still a kids' book, so having themes such as homosexuality, or even bisexuality explicitly in the text would cause censorship and stuff. It is a sad fact of today's society... Anywayz, I did enjoy the book. I really like the character of Voldemort, because of his rich background especially. I loved book 6 because of the backstory we got of Voldemort. He's a despicable character, and is pretty much the Hilter of the Harry Potter world, but a well written character nonetheless. Rowling did hint that she might write more Harry Potter stuff, but not anytime soon and it would be for charity.

Omg. You know what? I was wondering what that actor's name was. A few days ago, I was thinking about a R.L. Stine series episode where a young boy faces some monster in a new town he moved to. I remember thinking he was cute and I even found out his name back then, but forgot about it until a few days ago. And no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't remember his name. Now, you just posted it... haha. Funny how things work out sometimes.

That's really funny. It's one of my favourite shows. Haha. By the way, you don't have a link to the skit of the guy who thinks everything's indian? I remember one of the most hilarious skits I had seen was the one where that guy said Superman was indian lol I'd love to see that again.

Thanks, Graeme. By the way, you can call me "Cloud", that's the nick I use all the time but it was already taken on here. Probably by myself when I registered long ago lol. But yeah, I shall poke around, as you say.

Hey people, I've been here before, but I forgot what was my username and password or even what email I used when I registered lol. Anyway, I've just found this again through another website so here I am. Again. Sorta. Heh. I've posted a link to a story I'm working on in the section at the bottom of the forum, hope you'll check it out and stuff. Feedback is always welcome. XD Glad to be here in any case. It looks like a good place to be.
