  1. Same browser Samsung 17.0.7.34 the latest version
  2. @Myr I don't have an ad blocker only a pop up blocker which if active asks to allow or not pop ups which doesn't happen here.
  3. I also have a problem using the Publish Chapter button. I click the the tag to publish now, no date, time, required, click Publish Chapter, nothing happens. After going backwards and forwards through different screens, trying to publish from different places, manage chapter or the green label, by hazard or chance the button works, but not without trying at least a dozen times. I realise this doesn't help you much in finding the problem, but I have no more information except hitting the Publish Chapter button never works first time, which of course it should. It does work if you persevere. I have only published three chapters and they all come out of the moderation queue approved ready to publish.
  4. I have a simple question for you and your answers will help me as a new member decide what to do. I am posting a fantasy story and I am considering changing the genre, I'm wondering if it isn't more adventure than fantasy, or fantasy adventure, that it might be mystery, mystery, adventure, fantasy. My question: would you change your story genre halfway through the posting of it (or at any time)?
  5. I only just arrived here and started posting a story. I have loads of questions and like to knows. I will start with a like to know, then post a question in another thread to keep it clean and not mixed up. I'm posting a fantasy with a touch of surreal and what I would like to know is do you check facts when you write to be sure you got things correct. As an example: in my story the protagonists fly in a private jet from Morocco to Japan, I checked the speed and fuel consumption of a small jet, I checked the flight path, and I worked out how far they could go before needing to land to refuel, so where they might stop off. Remember, I said it's a fantasy story. In could have ignored any semblance of reality, but I like to know if a reader checked then they would find it was correct and I think stories grounded in reality, even fantasy stories, are more believable. What do you think? Do you go to the trouble of checking facts?
  6. I'm new here (just found the club) so my opinion doesn't count for much, anyway here it is: there are a few gay story sites, some give nothing they just publish your story, some give page views, and some like this site give, page views, likes, comments, and reviews. I don't think you could ask for more. Of course you have to join up to like, comment, etc. and probably for every reader who is a member there are ten others who are not. To my way of thinking, if you get one like on a chapter or story, you've got ten in reality, because all those readers who can't like it are still reading it. Everybody takes and only a few give, that I guess is how life is.
  7. Nope. The forum company choose not to provide that as an option. I was looking for that too. Guess you just have to do whatever you do and badges pop up like decorations on the cake!
  8. This is my first online publishing attempt, apart from a short story competition. I like to think of this story as my first book, actually I have visions of it being a series. Chapter Two should get published later today (it's been in the moderation process, waiting whilst I get my head around how you publish stories here. It was @Cia the nice moderator who guided me through the process who suggested posting a discussion here was one of the things to do, to get noticed). The crunch, getting noticed. This story definitely needs some readers, followers, and comments. From the page view numbers, only half of the people clicking on the story go on to read the first chapter. That's okay, I guess it is what you would expect, although I don't have a clue about any of this. Seems logical half the people aren't into fantasy with a little surreal, maybe a lot of surreal. Anyway they look at the genre and maybe the tags, and go! The tags: I wasn't really sure about how to use them. I can easily talk about the story I'm writing, but not so easily label it. I don't, for example, want to label it no sex, although there is nothing graphic so maybe I should. This is where you come in (if you're still here), I need feedback. I desperately need you to give your advice. Your advice about the story, the writing, the style, and yes, even the tags! If you find it a half interesting story, then perhaps you can help make it better with your comments. This is a cry for help. No, I shouldn't exaggerate, I would like some readers, lots of them, and to know what you think. I'm investing time in this. Of course I like writing. I like disappearing into this world I've created and interacting with the characters. If you can spare a little time too, that would be fantastic. Here's the bumpf, the story summary and link, take a look... please -
  9. Growing up as a queer, undocumented, Polish immigrant in Chicago, I always felt my identities were in flux – in-between cultures and across borders. They also brought a sense of tension and shame, as I often saw my identities demonised. Today, however, I see my experiences – whether migration, or gender and sexuality – as strengths that allow me to embrace complexity and build greater solidarity in my activism both where I now live in the UK and across the world. I was born in Białystok – a city on Poland’s eastern border. Białystok made international headlines in 2019, when its first ever Pride parade was overrun by the far-right. The city received attention again in 2021, when migrants were illegally pushed back across the Belarusian border. My childhood home, suddenly emblematic of Poland’s rise in homophobia and xenophobia. read the rest of this personal history... https://metro.co.uk/2022/06/30/im-a-polish-non-binary-migrant-my-communitys-rights-are-under-attack-16907841/
