Yes Ed is definitely defensive. For him that building is his fortress of solitude in a way so he is a little bit in a denial about it.

Yes the building is a soviet style housing block. The story takes place in former east Germany (DDR). I keeped it a little bit ambiguous in what war Ed fought because at the end of the day war is always the same. The location and weapons maybe change but it still stays the same. When it comes to their nationalities: Ed is German and Alex is half German, half Russian. -

Oh calling him Eddy was not really a step back but 🤐 I'm not going to say more for now. Lilly is short for Lilith so it's not really the name of a person. I'm glad you like the writing and flow.

14 only if the other person is under 21, otherwise 16 is the age of consent where someone is allowed to sleep with who ever they want (like in most of Europe). And yes Alex is almost 17 at the beginning of the story.
