Instead, it simply gives us a glimpse into Loonie’s life and pain. It quietly says, “I see you. I understand. You’re not alone.” And sometimes, that’s not just enough - it’s the only thing that truly helps.

And where does the money come from? $2,000 isn’t an amount a teenager would typically have as pocket money.

I didn’t think demon stories were really my thing - but this one completely changed my mind. It grabs you from the very start and doesn’t let go. There’s a great mix of adventure, humor, teenage drama, and even a bit of British politics and family life. The characters are smart, funny, and full of charm, which makes the whole story even more enjoyable. The plot is especially fun: after a train accident, a seventy-three-year-old philosophy professor, Tainer, ends up in the body of a selfish teenage boy, Charlie. With his original body dying, he’s racing against time while trying to survive high school, family life, and some very complicated relationships—including one particularly intriguing wrestler. All in all, it’s a witty, entertaining read that keeps you hooked. Definitely worth it - and I’m looking forward to the rest of the series!

I thought demon stories weren’t “my thing” … well, obviously I was very wrong - at least when it comes to @Topher Lydon's story! Bravo! 👏

Justin didn’t have to hide from his family or society like Tim did. He has only just begun to understand what precociousness and alertness mean. He simply needs to switch off “jock mode” (but to keep sports' competitive spirit and sense for strategy) for a while and activate the mathematical, analytical side he already possesses.

Just when I think our guys might take the initiative and make some progress in exposing the masterminds behind the game… it turns out the creators are always a few steps ahead. This is amazing writing, @Topher Lydon! For a moment it feels like a dystopian reality show - The Hunger Games, then it shifts into something more like a chess match, with pawns fighting for their place on the board. It’s a huge psychological and sociological experiment, showing how easily someone’s life can be manipulated. The consequences could be devastating - we’ve already seen broken hearts and ruined social statuses, but how long until it escalates to suicide or even murder? As we can see, the Archivists are players too - whether they’re being blackmailed, like Marc, or are simply perfect sociopaths for the job, like Chloe. But who, or what, is really at the top of the operation? Who is the “Christof” behind this game?

Finally catching up with the others… Oh my, as the situation becomes unbearable, I think it’s the right time for our guys to get some luck in this game. S.H.A.D.O.W. strikes back!

This is complete agony… I’ve been wondering for a while, but now I really have to ask - aren’t all these punishments they have to literally survive worse than the photo that started everything? It seems like the whole school is playing this game, and all the students are just puppets on strings. They adjust to changes far too quickly - and too easily. If Justin suddenly decided to rejoin the team, it would probably be welcomed as if nothing had happened.

As if the game drama wasn’t enough - now they have a real-life love triangle too!

This story is amazingly disturbing. I don’t remember the last time I was genuinely afraid of what might come in the next chapter. High school Hunger Games, a twisted reality show - a sick play for a sick mind. Solving the puzzle and disarming the predator is going to be one hell of a game!

Eternity is a curse; hopefully, there’s still time to break it. I’m wondering - did Charlie learn anything from this about love, sacrifice, and kindness? Even if he keeps some of his old flaws, like arrogance, I hope he’s grown into a genuinely good person.

Maybe the ghost’s mission isn’t to haunt Loonie, play on possessiveness, and seed guilt… Maybe Leo’s purpose is to protect Loonie once things go downhill. Maybe that’s his ticket to heaven… 🤔

That was exactly my thought… Maybe it’s because I’m a parent myself, but I was just reading about the shocked dad’s reaction and thinking - that’s how I would react if one of my children came up with such a rushed, poorly thought-out idea. Especially when someone is still vulnerable and hurting, like Loonie. Let’s hope for the best…

Reading Augustus’ Moderation is certainly a way to build character… what I’m afraid of is that our author, by shaping Charlie’s character through stoicism, is actually preparing him for an inevitable destiny! To quote the emperor himself: “Accept whatever comes to you woven in the pattern of your destiny, for what could more aptly fit your needs?”

Oh my… this chapter was such fun. The gay bar scene was hilarious… “Dad, I’m gay!” - “What?! You’re drinking?!” 😂 By the way, are the kids going to change their surnames too now?

I share the others' opinion that everything went much better than expected - the boyfriend meeting the father, then the family dinner, the debt being repaid, and meeting D, who is, surprisingly, young enough to support my theory about being used for a body swap with Charlie. By the way, Tory father is living proof that many politicians don’t actually believe in what they preach.

A marriage proposal out of the blue like this doesn’t come from emotions. This is business - now, whether it’s noble or tricky business… to quote @kbois, we’ll see!

Most unusual plot - two guys pretend to be boyfriends to prove… they’re not?! Only minds this intelligent, analytical, and philosophical could devise such a meticulously planned agenda, with different scenarios for school, parents, and… other parents. And for what - to prove there are no feelings involved? To whom? I’d say mostly to themselves. And why? To maintain a stoic, untouchable reputation. But what if hearts betray their brains?!

Moving on and moving in are not the same thing. I don’t see any other possibility than to wait for the next chapter and see how Loonie will find a polite way to say ‘no.’

This book might help Charlie become a better person. Come to think of it… is there a better way to fight the demon?!
