@Mikiesboy has given us an exceptional story of loss, grief, and finding one's way. Every journey through grief is different and this one shows us unabashedly the raw emotions that can come along for the ride. We know how hard it is for those left behind and tim has also shown us that it can be hard for those who left us too.

Excellent job, my friend. xoxo

Response from the author:

Thank you. This one was difficult to write... maybe I should have dedicated it to Danny. It began in my thoughts after he passed away. I've not felt his ghost or presence, but perhaps that's for the best. Thank you for editing this for me. I'm grateful.

A wonderful story of love lost and love found.  We walk with Lonnie as he picks his way over the stony, uneven path of grief and loss. It's a journey always taken alone, no matter how many people are beside you.

I recommend this story.

Response from the author:

Thank you, Michael. xo

This is a bittersweet story about letting go, moving on, and the messy process that goes with it. It's about plans, suddenly and irrevocably upended, and about the struggle to adapt to a new way of living and loving. It's about what life becomes for someone left behind.

It's a good story, and it deserves a read.

So, sit down. Grab a coffee or a beer. And treat yourself to a journey you won't regret taking.

Response from the author:

Thanks very much, Wayne.  I appreciate you reading this and for your comments. This one was challenging to write. I'm glad you enjoyed this one. xo

@Mikiesboy brings a deeply intimate and personal story about grieving the loss of a life partner. There’s no universal formula for healing - no simple way to make the pain disappear or to move on quickly. We often hear about the stages of grief: shock, denial, anger...but they’re not linear, and they’re different for everyone. There’s no real timeline either; grief can last months or years and still return in waves.

What makes this story stand out is that @Mikiesboy doesn’t judge Loonie’s choices or try to offer lessons on what should have been done differently. Instead, it simply gives us a glimpse into Loonie’s life and pain. It quietly says, “I see you. I understand. You’re not alone.”

And sometimes, that’s not just enough - it’s the only thing that truly helps.

Response from the author:

Thank you for your review.  There's a trick to writing that's taken me some time to learn. That is, less is more, aka, trust the reader.

We feel like we should explain things or tell readers things, the truth is we don't have to. I'm glad you felt this in this piece. Not writing some things and going back to take parts out was hard.

Thanks again, for reading this and for your wonderful comments.

@Mikiesboy has given us a wonderful story, that will make us stop and think.

A truly amazing story of love, lost and found.

We join Lonnie as he stumbles through loss, grief and the many emotions that it left behind.

Loss is never an easy for those left behind and tim has shown us that it's never easy for those we lost.

Give it a read, you will not be disappointed. Highly recommended.

Response from the author:

Thanks very much, chris. I'm happy to know you enjoyed this one.  Hopefully Lonnie and Ty will be happy and successful together. xo

An excellent story showing one person's progress after the unexpected loss of a partner.  Well written and thoughtful, also showing that every person's thoughts and reactions to grief are different.  I heartily recommend this story.
