His uncle didn't want him specifically dead or hurt. The uncle fell into the "mad scientist" category and invented lots of stuff, of which many things were/are actually useful. Why did he invent such harmful thing? Because he was a very weak battlemage, unable to do most things his brothers could do, and was very envious. His father (Kellen's grandfather) and some others of the War School staff kept a close eye on him, but of course they could not prevent everything... That's another mystery for another story He now remembers enough to use his knowledge for the case. "Do something about it" in the sense of reversing the loss of magic? I don't think so. 😅 ❤️

~Kellen~ Nashville was far less impressive than Kellen had imagined. He couldn’t even say why he’d imagined it to be so impressive—maybe because his mom had lived here before she went to War School? He didn’t know. But he’d met some nice people, several wannabe musicians, had some good meals, and a couple of the guys had invited him to a basketball game in the park. The thought that he’d have to return to the base tomorrow afternoon because his leave was over made the idea even more

Measured by the status of his bruises and cuts, Sam had been in jail for a little over a week. He had only been left his thin undershirt, pants and socks, but he couldn't remember how it happened. His last conscious memory before waking up in the tiny cell was that he left the dragon hill behind Romy, quite unchivalrously admiring her butt in her tight pants... Sam's stomach growled. At irregular intervals he was given a tasteless broth with a few pieces of vegetables (eating and drinking i

Couldn't agree more. Also true. But time will tell! -

Looks like it. But we will see, I would say. Anyway, yet another princess-rescue that didn't go as intended, it seems -

Right? Seems like he is not frustrated/desperate enough. But on the other hand, our prince is very traditional and takes the unwritten rules of this very serious, follow the knightly virtues, do knightly deeds. And a lover? He might faint at that suggestion -
The task is simple: travel through the kingdoms and come back only when you have found a bride. But after four years Prince Sam is quite frustrated and dares to go to Darkmoore- and ends up in the dungeon. Indeed, Princess Romy intends to use him for some ritual, but what the captives of Romy's sister Ellie are telling, doesn't give Sam much hope...

Isaac moaned all the time. Sometimes he complained like a little child, sometimes he scolded, but Sam faded him out quite successfully. "Sam!" "Hmm?" "You're not listening to me at all," Isaac finally complained offended. "Why so? You've been repeating yourself again and again for four days." Sam gave him a quick glance and shrugged apologetically, but Isaac's face continued to darken. He pouted for a few minutes, then he asked: "Shouldn't we have reached the border by now?" -

Sam reached the last step of the tower and tried to wheeze as quietly as possible. What did evil wizards find in these silly-high towers? The door to the room on the last floor was slightly recessed and concealed by a high shelf from which scrolls were swooping - a good cover for Sam, who now carefully peered through the scrolls and discovered two guards leaning next to the blackwood door, looking bored. Behind Sam his squire Isaac reached the top of the tower and sounded as if steam was coming -
Jas and his here nameless partner were once a loving couple and adopted Dario|James. He should be 15, I think, and was adopted at 6 or 7. His official name is James, and he's calling himself Dario. Why? Because he believes he's the son of Dionne Saphhire and twin to her daughter Dunja. To be fair, he's right on that, but for the greater picture this will never get relevant. The nameless Pa, however, will be one of the MCs in a different story later on.

He hated the fluffy bedding with superheroes on it. He hated the cheap furniture in his room. He hated this ugly run-down city. He hated his apprenticeship place. He hated his boss. He hated that his fathers fought all the time. "You know I don't have time for this!" Pa shouted, upset. By now he was so loud that Dario understood every word. "You never have time for anything!" Jas shouted back. "When was the last time you did the groceries? Or paid the bills? Or

Indeed a dangerous game... It was hinted at in the end of the main story that there was a spark. As Tom said in his earlier chapter about adopting a boy, it's not going great. They are on/off. When they just have a bad day, Tom and Frank go to the Rosy Cheeks, a sort of all-in-one bar for men in Townsend, have a drink, watch a dance show. When they are off, Tom and Dante go to Westshire, into the queer danceclub Smoky Eyes. To have some more fun. Frank hates dancing. He likes music okay, but not the danceclub type of music. Since they agreed on their open-relationship-deal, Dante takes this opportunity to dance, flirt and make out with some guys (or maybe some more...?), basically to just have some fun.
-
Dante danced. The music washed over him. The bass vibrated in his bones. Alcohol ran through his veins. The lights, faces, they flickered by. Sweat clung to his skin- his own, strangers'. The night was old enough for none of this to matter much anymore. The club was celebrating Luna-Light's new album, celebrating their 'fuck the Inquisition' attitude which they were now living out from exile. While this was more the sweet culmination of the club's already valid 'be who you are and have

Surprisingly, Dante and Val became friends. Not the closest ones, but still good enough for this kind of talks. Val was an important pillar in Frank's and Alice's childhood. Since Anthony is no more, his is the only memory we could still get. Therapy, I guess. But it's not that easy to get that for a slave... And do we know whether Alice is even aware of how bad it is? Absolutely agree. If you have ideas or wishes of what you would like to see or hear more of, just tell me

"What do you think of the exhibition?", Dante wanted to know after handing the menu back to the waiter slave. "Pretty meaningless," Val replied, leaning back. "I'm not sure I liked even one of the paintings." "There was one that looked like a sun dying in the sea," Dante replied, smiling wryly. "That was quite lovely. But why the artist called it a 'milk-drinking fish' is beyond me." That made Val laugh and shake his head in equal measure. "I'm not sure I really want a rationale f

If you mean Dante and Frank, than it's only 6 years at this point, because they went back together a year after the main story.

Let's say Dante and Matt negotiated a temporary truce, to support Alice in this important book event while being pregnant with twins. Dante and Alice have their amicable moments, but it really depends on the situation and mood, and whether there are common enemies around... Could be. Or could be that he throws a fit of jealousy. Because, they might have agreed on an open relationship, but Frank is still possessive and very jealous and he can't always control his temper. Matt was having a blast seeing Dante embarassed to hell and back 🤣

After one last sideways glance at the Legends Never Die booth overflowing with artwork, Dante moved on. He had already bought a few things here yesterday, but he couldn't get enough of some of the pictures. "I really wonder what you see in it," Alice said from beside him. "The style is... nice, I'll admit, but why this Jayce of all people?" "I just like him," Dante returned simply, having no real answer. Or rather, all the answers he could have given were very vague and probably Alice

Sawyer is plagued by his ADHD, is barely literate and not really educated, but he has the purest heart of them all. (Not counting the kids, of course.)
-
Sawyer loved Frank. Not in a romantic way, not even in a sexual way–he was a good-looking guy, but a bit too much–but honestly in the best way a slave could love his master. Frank didn’t treat him like a slave, but… like a friend? A bit of a brother? Sawyer had no word for this that captured the feeling right. The important thing was that Sawyer was treated better than well, that he got to live with Dante and Tom. And getting presents was a nice bonus. For the festival of lights Tom, Dant

Let's just hope this doesn't backfire or Tom realizes it was mostly a selfish wish and gets overwhelmed by this new responsibility. But in general this sounds like a great thing to do. (Adding a new boy to the household means giving Dimmi another "brother" )

Pride filled Tom as he let his gaze wander over the playground. The sight of the colorful wooden play equipment was nothing like the sad picture he had seen a few weeks ago when he happened to pass by. "It looks wonderful," Sister Harper whispered choked up beside him, and he nodded. He had passed the children's home on the outskirts of Townsend absolutely by accident- accidental in that he had taken a wrong turn somewhere- and had stared in near horror at the useless outdoor toys in t
