If we all are lucky, Tony might have some answers about that magic sticking to Ben. For the second part, I think it's a mix. Emmett did see the interest, but since he had Dex on his mind (and I mean it did seem to get serious before it turned into a desaster) he most likely dismissed it. And therefore actually missed how deep that interest is running. @drsawzall Emmett has healing powers, yes. But in opposite to druids or shamans for example, he has no defensive/offensive magic and a high instinct of flight if physical/magical conflicts arise. You do have a point there and there is a reason why we literally skipped an Emmett chapter Growing up next to a twin like Bomb made Fin keep his head down, standing up for himself is not something he's used to. But for his hoard? He'd burn down the world. Dragons are matriarchal, yes. Since dragons get several hundred years old, there's lots of time to make babies we do learn more about that later. (Not about how to make babies, I think we all know. Do we? Anyway, I mean the dragon babies. Why there are so many.) Emmett opened up (not fully, but kind of) to his last boyfriend, Jason, and that asshole had nothing better to do than try to kidnap and sell Emmett cause calming aura and healing abilities are useful in the criminal world... That's why they left the place they lived before and came to St. Beatrice. Plus, he was raised to not trust anyone. We learn more about it later. We know Mo is a childhood friend from school, means he grew up in a Western nation. But what "branch" his family comes from, we don't know. Is he deflecting his own feelings? Did he turn towards his roots? Was he simply hiding his honest opinion to be "one of them"? We will see, I guess... Thank you all!
