The source can be a) an evil being "corrupting from above"; b) tainted beings/objects rubbing off (though this kind of taint can be rinsed off, so to speak, mostly it doesn't last) or c) self-taint. I love how open they are in their letters. As many other comments said already, a letter gives you time to choose the words and form the thoughts, but it still requires some courage to write about some of the personal stuff, especially with a still-stranger. Now I'm wondering whether Adam, a guy with so many ritualistic preparations, will be able to keep this kind of talk going when seeing face to face. The letters feel so soft and warm and flowing nice, but in a real-time conversation you don't have the time to choose the perfect word. Curious and curiouser ❤️

Adam's preparations to read the letter make me smile, truely a guy for rituals; you tickle out the romantic in me, thinking how those two could build their little rituals together. Interesting and quite straightforward of Kai to ask for a picture and instantly adding his own one. I like his humor.

If it comes to a confrontation, it smells a lot like BBQ. Though i guess not like one anyone would enjoy. (Apart maybe for Finley. Roasting enemies surely has something satisfying.) Getting corrupted and self-corruption (for example through going against the own nature). Corruption is a slow process and especially the one who embrace it are able to hide it for a long time. Knowing Finley is a trained soldier and a dragon who can spit fire even in human form this sounds like a precise and effective encounter, but who can predict the outcome in terms of collateral damage? And apart from roasted deer I don't think Emmett would like this encounter much. Emmett is something rare and precious.
