A steady beeping. A strange double hiss. Both monotonous in a way that was equally soothing and unnerving. His body felt like it weighed a ton. Or was he floating? Was he lying down? Was he sitting? The sounds were mostly coming from his left, he was sure of that, but otherwise he was completely disoriented. A while later, it occurred to him that this was probably a heart monitor and some kind of breathing apparatus - he was in the hospital. But why didn't he feel anything? Was he

I'm not dealing with those, thank you very much
-
Of course you don't, but are you - or in this case Alice - aware of this while in such a situation?

The blood had dripped into her dreams. A dream in which Deimos laughingly turned a garden party into a bloodbath, taking a badly injured Dante with him. She screamed, reached out pleadingly- -and awoke with a flinch. A strong heart was beating under her cheek, firm arms were holding her. But she was still stuck in the nightmare. It was Matthew who held her. Matthew, who had been sitting with her for hours in that damn ICU waiting room on a damn uncomfortable bench. While Dante was

He really does love her, since years. It's just that back then, Valentine was moving faster (nudged by his mother, but that's a different topic). He knows what a strong argument her money is, but he is more of the traditional and humble side and looks more at what he himself has to offer or not to offer, and he feels that he is thoroughly lacking in financial and familial means. I mean, his proposal is made properly for this society in the way that he is not asking her to marry him, but he's offering himself.

that's like real life, shit is happening all the time, everywhere. We get another Another Time chapter from Alice soon with some updates. For the last part: keep your fingers crossed!

It wasn't far till home, maybe another ten minutes of driving, and yet Alice stopped the car on the side of the road, her forearms on the steering wheel, her forehead leaning against them. If anyone who knew her saw her like this, there would be a lot of talk, but she didn't care. As it seemed, the papers for Frank's guardianship had come. At least Ma had written something like that. The message had also been the reason why she had decided to leave, even though she had wanted to talk to her

A Night so sweet and bitter
Celian commented on Celian's story chapter in A Night so sweet and bitter
When it's about those two - whether as friends or lovers - I prefer one-shots, to be honest. Those little peeks and moments... -
Matt sighed as the frustrated scream sounded and turned the gaze from the two young men on the practice field to the side. "Do you think he'll be able to control his temper one day?" "Why are you asking me?" Valerian raised a brow. "Well, it's your son after all." "And? I have my temper under control." Valerian hinted at a shrug. "Unless a certain captain smears my face with dirt," he added with a smile and now Matt raised a brow. "A certain Captain?", he echoed critically, b

Oh god, updating will take a while, I guess. Good job, though! I really like some of the clarifications.

Dante awoke with a pounding in his head that was unrivaled. If someone had told him a mouse had crawled into his mouth and died there, he would have believed it immediately. And he didn't even want to think about what kind of party was going on in his stomach. A groan escaped him. "Are you awake or just suffering?" He groaned again at Frank's question. Then he blinked and squinted his eyes right back shut because there was something sparkling in his field of vision that hurt his eyes.

I know we all love Sawyer, but this would be in fact a bad idea 😅
-
That would be a great idea. Granted, Tom has no clue about women, but the main concept he can definitely explain well.

Miss Carolyn could say what she wanted, could give them time off as she pleased, but if work wasn't done, there would be trouble waiting at some point. Therefore Henry, tired but already freshly showered, descended to the basement while most of the others were still asleep. A glance around the common room told him that he had been right in his quiet suspicions: no one had thought to put the leftovers in the fridge, or at least cover them. A sigh escaped him, fading into a surprised-question

Sawyer for sure, Tom maybe. I think him not believing in their relationship would make him help them individually, not maybe not as much as a couple. I'm not sure "love" is the right word for what Blaise feels for Dante... But yes, the "Frank is growing up" seems to have hit him like a sledgehammer. Sarah has no real will/intention/knowlegde to rule over the farm, but if she had to, she surely would give her best. Including getting help for stuff she lacks knowledge. Were Alice & Co. will end up remains to be seen. You are soooo right my friend...

Sawyer wasn't sure where to draw the line between tipsy and drunk, but there was no mistaking that Dante was drinking too much. His face was flushed, his eyes glazed over, and his dialect was much more prominent than usual. Sawyer himself had today for the first time drunk something stronger than beer and had let it go right after the vodka lemonade. His head was messy enough without alcohol. Juice did it too. Dante, on the other hand... Dante drank and sang. The song had even sounded famil

The Night belongs to Dance and Drink
Celian commented on Celian's story chapter in The Night belongs to Dance and Drink
A place like this needs to be filled with life, but there is barely the opportunity to turn those background-characters into something more than puppets. All those work and house slaves are of course their own personalities, but we normally don't need to see more of them, it's enough if they exist. But I like how this turned out, all in all. Blaise is pissy-pouting now and we see more of that in the next Another Time chapter. Sometimes you could think he doesn't know what he wants. Your word in the Great Mother's ear. -
"If you need help, let me know." Dante got a tired look from Henry, an annoyed one from TJ, and a grateful one from Seth. But since it remained at glances, he left the kitchen with a mental shrug. Mistress Alice had discussed long and loud with her mother beforehand regarding Dante's participation in the birthday party. She had won out in the end, and so Dante was allowed to celebrate with the workers in the basement instead of being dressed up to serve food. He felt a little sorry for Henr

I don't know how you can call ~870miles "not that far" but I guess you americans think in different dimensions... 🤔 Fingers crossed on that one!

Finding a way to the hut was surprisingly less tricky than what Darryl had thought. He couldn’t say whether the overgrown state of the tiny cabin was meant as disguise or whether it was nature doing its thing, but either way, in the dark it was hard to spot and even during daylight it was surely not standing out. Engine switched off, the boat glided the last few meters through the black, barely moving waters until the bow gently bumped against some protruding planks serving as sort of jet

That's exactly what we need to cross our fingers for...

The laughter of the rest of the Mitchells, still sitting in the living room, gave Dante pause. Blaise should have been here. With his wife, his kids, his grandkids. Not downstairs, not with a young guy on his lap, not with a dick in his mouth. Dante swallowed. He understood perfectly well that Blaise wanted to follow both sides of his bisexuality- if that was even what he really was and he wasn't lying to everyone, including himself- and he also understood his ambivalent attitude about depe

To this, I can't give you a satisfying answer, but with this chapter we entered to peak of the story, so to speak. Alice will come home soon enough and still too late... And Blaise... patience, my friends, patience...

The show is inspired by a real show, as are the women taking part in it. Apart the very specific history question all the questions were once real ones as well (the one about the poet is at least taken from a real historic happning). Root for them! They will need it... I would support that. Because Blaise IS a creep. The type of guy where everyone just shakes their heads and says "oh but he was such a nice guy, lovely neighbour, never thought he could do such things".
