    Chapter 3

@Summerabbacat My partner (who is in his late twenties and likes to DJ) is a HUGE disco fan, and especially likes the deep cuts. It's just about all we listen to around the house. Any recommendations?

    Chapter 1

Next up: The third installment in the Killian Kendall Mysteries, All Lost Things! I thought this little story would get us all back in Killian's head...I mean, his voice. His POV. You know what I mean... Here's a preview: Killian Kendall’s life is in flux — graduating high school, starting a new job with a private investigator, and reeling from a breakup. He barely has time to settle in when his ex-boyfriend calls with a desperate plea: prove his new boyfriend didn’t brutally murder his father with an axe. The victim was abusive, the evidence damning, and the accused is evasive, but something doesn’t add up. As Killian digs deeper, he finds himself caught in a web of lies, manipulation, and violence. Solving the case may clear a name...or cost Killian his life. Beginning next week.

@Summerabbacat You always have just the perfect song for every occasion. You should change your name to SummerJukeBox. 🖤

    Chapter 3

It is the same Bryant! And of course, Ilana, just a few years earlier than when we meet them as full established friends later down the road. It sounds like you and Charlie would get along like a house on fire... He would LOVE your song choice.
  5. I lay on the warm sand, listening to the waves crash against the shore and watching hot, half-naked guys wander by — and I was bored out of my mind. The family vacation had been Adam’s idea. He said I needed to get away, to clear my head. But there’s no such thing as escaping your own guilt. Ever since Aidan died, I’d been struggling — not just with grief, but the bone-deep conviction that I’d failed him. I hadn’t seen Will since the funeral. I couldn’t bring myself to look him in the
  6. While vacationing on the Outer Banks, Killian Kendall stumbles across a glimmering class ring buried in the surf — a ring lost in 1958. When his search to return it leads to an elderly woman named Elizabeth, he learns of a hidden love, a tragic drowning, and a secret that’s waited decades to surface. As memories stir and ghosts awaken, Killian begins to confront his own grief and guilt over a recent loss. But some stories don’t stay buried forever. In the echoes of the past, he just might find the path forward. What the Ocean Keeps is a quiet, haunting tale of love, loss, and the mysteries we carry.

    Chapter 1

    Haven't we all? 🙃

    Chapter 2

Eve is loosely based on one of my former sisters-in-law, a miserable woman who was never happy or satisfied and went out of her way to make sure everyone else in the life was just as unhappy as she was. When she and my brother split, she called my mom in an attempt to turn her against him, and it was (at that time) the only time I'd ever heard my mom curse when she called her b*tch. 🤣 I am not surprised that you have an extensive catalog of expletives. I'm pretty sure we'd get along splendidly.

    Chapter 1

I always look forward to your thoughts on each chapter. I enjoy how you hold nothing back, and I do really appreciate that you took the time to "cool off" after reading the chapter. LOL I have a lot of sympathy for Adam. How he treated Eric was deplorable, but I do understand that fear and how it can drive some deeper into the closet, especially in those evangelical circles. The good news is that we know Adam escaped and learned and, as you said, became a better, more honest person. It takes some of us longer than others... I had initially intended to write a scene that more directly addressed Adam's regret over his treatment of Eric and have him look him up and find he's thrived since college, but I ultimately decided that it distracted from this story that I was trying to tell. Keeping a story, especially a short story, focused is hard enough for me as it is. LOL

Ty will definitely pop up again...

    Chapter 5

It's great to finally meet the Loturi. They sound adorable, but as we all know, adorable sentient raccoons can also be unhinged and a little dangerous...

    Chapter 5

And still, we demand more! (Politely.) 🤣

    Chapter 5

Geron is an excellent world builder!

    Chapter 1

My first kiss with a guy is core memory for me. Blew my mind (no pun intended). I remember leaving his house and stopping at a green light and sitting through an entire light cycle while the people behind me honked their horns. I didn't even hear them. Life changing, to say the least. LOL

    Chapter 1

"You know who's hot?" Kyle asked suddenly, kicking off a conversation none of us had asked for. "Who?" Danny replied, already smirking. "Tara Wetzel." Danny groaned. "Tara Pretzel? Seriously?" "Yeah. Totally. Why? You don’t think she’s hot?" "Uh, no. That’s why I call her Tara Pretzel." Kyle made an exaggerated face. "Fine. Who do you think is hot then?" Danny considered. "Anna Bergdorf." "Anna? Anna, uh..." Kyle glanced over his shoulder at us, wheels sti
  16. Kane and Ty have been friends for a while — good friends, but not the kind who talk about their feelings. All that changes one summer afternoon when Kane wipes out on his skateboard. Kane’s Kiss is a warm, funny, and unexpectedly tender story about friendship, trust, and identity. It’s not a romance. It’s not about falling in love. It’s about the courage it takes to ask questions, and the kind of friend who doesn’t flinch when you ask them. It’s about growing up surrounded by noise and pressure, and finding moments of quiet honesty where you can just be who you are — even if you’re still figuring that out.

    Chapter 4

I hope the medical issue is minor and easily addressed! As everyone has said, you come first. Your excellent story will continue when you're ready and we will be patiently (mostly anyway) waiting! This was another great chapter, and this line especially stood out to me. "Time is the master of the universe, not the life that rises and falls within it." Beautiful, thoughtful writing...as usual.

    Chapter 3

Such a cool chapter! Love the "new" ancient ship. Excited to see where it takes the crew!

    Chapter 2

Always such a pleasure to sit back and dig into a new adventure with the gang! This one is off to a great start, and like everyone else, I can't wait to meet the new AI and see where we end up. I'm already enjoying Edrich, and I'm sure we'll meet some more new friends before it's over. I always know I'm safe in good hands with a @Geron Kees story!

    Chapter 4

Thanks @Tris! Counting Bleeding Hearts and Eden Revisited, you could definitely say three stories intersected! They were designed that way, though, to be fair. All the Extended Universe stories support the main series in some fashion. Aside from Reap the Whirlwind (which is an anomaly in several senses) the main series is always from Killian's point of view, and while some of the shorts are as well, they're primarily from other character's POVs. You might get more backstory, like Eden Revisited and Bright Things, you might get a cute little side story that tells you more about a character like the next story in the queue — Kane's Kiss, you might get a story that furthers a major plot point from the main series like the upcoming Like Unto a Ring, or I might use these shorter stories to introduce new characters. At the start of each short story, I'll put it into context as to where it fits into the overall timeline and remind you who is narrating (since I prefer to write in first person). While all the shorts can be read as self-contained standalone stories, they work best in concert with the main series. Many of the characters will pop up again. Unfortunately, Cole isn't one of them. At least, not yet. You never know... Glad you're enjoying them! And I'm happy to be a "new" author again!

    Chapter 1

oh my LORD! Browbeat's new look is the cutest! Always exciting to open this site and see a new Kip and Charlie story! Can't wait to see where it takes us.

    Chapter 3

You will not like Eve any more in Eden Revisited. 🤣
  23. Standing in the doorway was my dad. In person, he didn’t look all that different from the last time I’d seen him — just not quite as tall. I guess he hadn’t shrunk. I’d just gotten taller. His shoulders were still broad, his reddish-blond hair was still cut short and neatly parted, and his eyes were the same pale blue I remembered. There was a bit more gray at his temples, and he looked like he might be in better shape, but otherwise, he was the same Dad I’d carried in my memory all these

Only one chapter left! Next up will be a very short one-shot called Kane's Kiss.

    Chapter 3

Mostly because he didn't think he was wanted.
