I think you are pretty spot on with your analysis, Dr. @Summerabbacat. Add to that the fact that Asher is naturally less daring and Killian's death-be-damned antics probably cause him a lot of stress, and the fact that are 17/18 years old, and well...how many high school romances really last? Asher is definitely a dick, especially at the beginning of this book, but I give him some grace for being young. It's hard to sort through all of that when you don't have the life experience to understand what you're feeling. Hell, I know plenty of people in their 40s who still can't manage. 🤣
Killian has a variety of gifts. We'll see them manifest over the course of the next few books (and a short story or two).
Kane is one of my all-time favorite characters. I love writing him. He's a little smart ass, but in the best way possible. I think Seth has a lot to do with how well he turned out, but yes, he is very much Adam's son.
