Only time (and 20 chapters) will tell...

Great chapter filled with a lot of exciting developments! I love Amtapora, and the developments with Castor are very cool. I have to admit that my head is hurting from all the math talk though...

All lost things are in the angels’ keeping, Love; No past is dead for us, but only sleeping, Love. At last. Helen Hunt Jackson Blood was everywhere. It spattered the walls, pooled on the floor, even dripped from the ceiling. The metallic stench choked the air, so thick it seemed to cling to the skin. It was hard to believe all of it had come from just one body — but the scattered limbs and fragments confirmed otherwise. The killer stood still for a moment

Killian Kendall’s life is in flux — graduating high school, starting a new job with a private investigator, and reeling from a breakup. He barely has time to settle in when his ex-boyfriend calls with a desperate plea: prove his new boyfriend didn’t brutally murder his father with an axe. The victim was abusive, the evidence damning, and the accused is evasive, but something doesn’t add up. As Killian digs deeper, he finds himself caught in a web of lies, manipulation, and violence. Solving the case may clear a name...or cost Killian his life.

Kane gripped the dashboard in fear — whether real or feigned, I couldn't say with certainty. "Killian, will you slow down?" he wailed. "We don't have time to slow down. We're running late." "And we'll never get there if you have an accident and we die in a fiery explosion." I glanced away from the road long enough to give my little brother a skeptical look. "You watch too much TV." "Okay, so cars don't generally blow up in real life, but still, you have to admit we'll be

Thank you! I hope you enjoy the other stories as well!

You can dare say whatever you like, my friend. I, for one, wouldn't dare stop you. Minor quibble that has followed me for the past twenty years, while "All Things Lost" seems to be the natural cadence people seek since it is what the book gets called most often, the title is actually All Lost Things. It's from a very short poem that begins "All lost things are in the angels keeping..." A handy mnemonic is that the shortened version of the title is ALT, like the ALT key!

Thank you! And like I said, I can't wait for you to read the first chapter of All Lost Things!

She made her bed...now she has to sleep in it. ALONE FOREVER. 😜

I've had so many inexplicable experiences in my life...several of which have inspired scenes or even entire plots for my books. I get it. Thanks for reading...and commenting! It means a lot.

Isn't he just?

@Summerabbacat My partner (who is in his late twenties and likes to DJ) is a HUGE disco fan, and especially likes the deep cuts. It's just about all we listen to around the house. Any recommendations?

Next up: The third installment in the Killian Kendall Mysteries, All Lost Things! I thought this little story would get us all back in Killian's head...I mean, his voice. His POV. You know what I mean... Here's a preview: Killian Kendall’s life is in flux — graduating high school, starting a new job with a private investigator, and reeling from a breakup. Beginning next week.

@Summerabbacat You always have just the perfect song for every occasion. You should change your name to SummerJukeBox. 🖤

It is the same Bryant! And of course, Ilana, just a few years earlier than when we meet them as full established friends later down the road. It sounds like you and Charlie would get along like a house on fire... He would LOVE your song choice.

I lay on the warm sand, listening to the waves crash against the shore and watching hot, half-naked guys wander by — and I was bored out of my mind. The family vacation had been Adam’s idea. He said I needed to get away, to clear my head. But there’s no such thing as escaping your own guilt. Ever since Aidan died, I’d been struggling — not just with grief, but the bone-deep conviction that I’d failed him. I hadn’t seen Will since the funeral. I couldn’t bring myself to look him in the

While vacationing on the Outer Banks, Killian Kendall stumbles across a glimmering class ring buried in the surf — a ring lost in 1958. When his search to return it leads to an elderly woman named Elizabeth, he learns of a hidden love, a tragic drowning, and a secret that’s waited decades to surface. As memories stir and ghosts awaken, Killian begins to confront his own grief and guilt over a recent loss. But some stories don’t stay buried forever. In the echoes of the past, he just might find the path forward. What the Ocean Keeps is a quiet, haunting tale of love, loss, and the mysteries we carry.

Haven't we all? 🙃

Eve is loosely based on one of my former sisters-in-law, a miserable woman who was never happy or satisfied and went out of her way to make sure everyone else in the life was just as unhappy as she was. When she and my brother split, she called my mom in an attempt to turn her against him, and it was (at that time) the only time I'd ever heard my mom curse when she called her b*tch. 🤣 I am not surprised that you have an extensive catalog of expletives. I'm pretty sure we'd get along splendidly.

I always look forward to your thoughts on each chapter. I enjoy how you hold nothing back, and I do really appreciate that you took the time to "cool off" after reading the chapter. LOL I have a lot of sympathy for Adam. How he treated Eric was deplorable, but I do understand that fear and how it can drive some deeper into the closet, especially in those evangelical circles. The good news is that we know Adam escaped and learned and, as you said, became a better, more honest person. It takes some of us longer than others... I had initially intended to write a scene that more directly addressed Adam's regret over his treatment of Eric and have him look him up and find he's thrived since college, but I ultimately decided that it distracted from this story that I was trying to tell. Keeping a story, especially a short story, focused is hard enough for me as it is. LOL

Ty will definitely pop up again...

It's great to finally meet the Loturi. They sound adorable, but as we all know, adorable sentient raccoons can also be unhinged and a little dangerous...

My first kiss with a guy is core memory for me. Blew my mind (no pun intended). I remember leaving his house and stopping at a green light and sitting through an entire light cycle while the people behind me honked their horns. I didn't even hear them. Life changing, to say the least. LOL
