When I worked at the local movie theatre, we had a family who was deaf come into our theatre every once and awhile to see a kids movie with their 7 year old son. In order to help them get to their theatre (we had a CC one) they would usually carry a notepad and write down what they needed to say. When I first met them, I said hi and I think I suprised them when, after they wrote down that they needed the mirrors for the CC, I said 'sure wait one minute' in ASL (though very slowly). When I got them the mirrors, they said thank you and asked if I could help them with the concession items taht they wanted. From that point on, they taught me some phrases that I still remember to this day. After our first encounter, I was worried that I was going to offend them, but they said taht they wern't but gratful that someone was willing to go the extra mile and be willing to learn another language to help them (they wrote that down for me because I couldn't keep up). I have to say, after that I am very intrested in learning sign language for two reasons. One I want to be able to communicate with everyone no matter what. The other reason is that I want to be a social worker that specialises in children with disailities. My only problem though is that I'm very worried that I'll offend someone if I ask them questions or attempt to sign, but I guess that i'll need to get over that to achieve my goals. Finally i'm really glad that this forum popped up because I really hope to learn something form it.

After taking the time to research our resident Goat (cliff-icus hang-icus) there are a few things I've noticed... 1. He's got issues with Erics (just take a look at LTMP) 2. He's always spotted near cliffs (maybe why he's so fascinated with them) 3. He has a good heart (when it comes to other characters like Cody) 4. He's in denial about being The bastard queen of cliffhangers (I can't remember which forum it came up in) 5. There seems to be quite the number of people on GA interested in a BBQ (and goat being the main course) 6. He seems to make straight tequila the party drink (when I know from experience its a cosmo) That's all I can come up with at this time... feel free to add or correct me

It's great to see you posting! As always, it's great to hear different peoples oppinions on different subjects and thats what makes GA so great! Post a few more times and remember to have fun (but if your around CJames's forum... beware of cliffs :wacko: )

It seems like life gets slower when there's nothing to really look forward to. Whether it's a job or school or something like that, it slows down incredibly when there's nothing to do. So I decided to take this time and really look indepth to where I am, where I want to go, and what I want to do, and I've come up with a todo list to be accomplished over the next few years. Enigma's todo list: 1. Get a job that will last me through college 2. Get a car because NJTranist is horrible 3. Get my degree in criminal justice so I can get a job 4. Maintain a writing schedule and release stories 5. Help my friends and family when needed 6. Be there for people who need help 7. Help my fellow man 8. Find someone who makes me feel infinite again 9. Find friendship with good people 10. Find out why CJames loves to use nast cliff hangers 11. Write to a few authors on this site and tell them how inspiring they are 12. Give hope and love to everyone 13. Be the best I can be 14. Find out what ever happenes with GFD 15. Figure out who was better for Rory... Luke or Seth That's what I came up with and I'm gonna start working on that list..... tomorrow cus I'm tired now lol ~As Always~

Nothing wrong with the name Eric... or having a fixation with it... its an awsome name but i do wanna take a read of this ---- Ok just finished reading it... and it's a good idea on the history of what happened and one of the greatest mysteries (besides the one of your facination with the name eric if i read the forums right ). I remember talking about this in my history class and it intrested me. Well... thanks to your advice, I'm gonna end this topic. me and the ex talked about it and I told him how I felt, and the reasons for the way I wanted to continue things and he agreed. Basically we're going to have a friendship and thats about it. And the way I celebrated, I went out to NYC with my friend Kris (a good friend from PA) and spent 2 days in the heat only to loose myself in times square and a few bars. All in all, I feel better knowing that we're done and the emotions I have for him are slowly going away. And once again guys, thanks for the advice in dealing with him. It was much appreciated and I hope to return the favor one day!

rknapp: Hmmm... i'm trying to figure out which bar that is your at cus I think i've been there ...but then again they tend to look alike after while and when it comes to going out at night (which might help you prevent from getting hair mollested or maced with cologne ), I have 1 rule: If you touch my hair, add make up to me, put some type of cologne on me, or anything of the like WITHOUT my permission, thou shalt be bitch slapped on site But it's always fun to go out, take drunk face pics, and have a gay ol' time

I guess it's impossible to find a job when your former job screws you over and gives you a bad reference. I used to work at a movie theatre and I left them because I was constantly over worked and underpaid and (the last straw) was when I was told I was wrong for calling the police on a customer who decided to threaten my life by beating the crap out of me until he "smashed my head in" (needless to say the guy did have an outstanding DV charge and a warrent issued for such). I spoke today with a store by my house in hopes of getting a job, but when I spoke to the manager who denied my application, she was nice enough to tell me that I was given a very bad reference by the theatre. She said that they told her that I 'liked to cause conflict with customers (I guess in reference to the guy I called the cops on)' and 'failed to do any training (which is a lie considering I have all of the certificates from every theatre management course I was required to take sitting in my file)'. It just astonishes me on how much one person giving you a bad reference can mess up your future. So now here I am unemployed and looking for a job, but I can't put down a company that I worked almost 2 years at because they're giving me a bad reference. So I shall talk to my friend who still works there and see if she can give me the low down on what they're saying. On another note, I can't stop reading which is throwing my release dates off for my stories. Curse you good authors on GA!!!!!!

I've decided to partake in some world literature recently (why? idk... guess i'm trying to culture myself lol) but I found my Korean Folklore and Fairy Tales and i'm thinking about reading the canterbury tales again (forgive me if i'm mispelling that one).

Well, he couldn't do dinner with me because he has work so I decided to post the whole situation of what happened since my original post was late at night and I was tired... About two weeks ago we were hanging out and I noticed something off with him (we've been going out for close to 4 months so I know his body language). When I asked him what was bothering him, he said that it was nothing and we let it at that. Later on that week, he calls me and tells me that we need to talk. So I get over to his place and we talk for a little bit and he tells me that he cheated on me, but only once. I couldn't believe it because I pegged him as a nice guy who wouldn't do something like that. So he tells me that it was with a guy he met up at the bar we normally go to (and that really got me because chances are I know the guy). We talked a little more after that and I said that I didn't want to talk to him for a little bit because of how hurt I was. The day before yesterday, he gives me a call telling me that he wants me to come over because of a little get together he's having. Now I thought I was somewhat over him so I agreed that I would. I spend some of the night talking with other people at the party and end up talking with him when people started to leave. I explained how I was really hurt by what he did and when we went into more detail about us, I started to cry. At this point he put his arms around me like he would when I was upset or scared (he was with me when I had to get some testing done at a hospital and had to stay there for close to a week and I get scared when I'm at a hospital). Then it happens and we kiss, but it gets more agressive and well.... lets say it gets a little bit steamy after that. When I woke up the next moring, we did our goodbyes and I got home and was really upset and hurt again. He texts me later and we talk for a bit but the whole thing was that he does care for me and wants to retry our relationship, but I told him that I can't date anyone who's cheated on me, but I want to be friends. Now while i'm telling him this, theres a little voice in my head that's saying that I can make this work. But everytime I see him or talk to him I want to make it work, but I feel hurt when I do. Thats the long story. But I do wanna take james's advice and moon him (and I like fruit bowls so i'd eat it before throwing it lol) and tell him to kiss my... yea. All I can say is that this situation sucks, but I really do appreciate everyones advice so far!

Well, after thinking about it and reading your advice, i've decided to goto dinner with him and talk about how I feel. Hopefully this goes over well and thanks for the advice Also if you live in NJ and hear of a guy getting thrown out of a resturant for mooning and yelling kiss my A**... it wasn't me

Well here it goes... Me and my Ex just broke up (well more like me dumping him because he cheated on me). He left me alone for a few days but he started texting me and we started talking again. Yesterday I headed over to his place because he was having a few friends over and since we were still on semi-friendly, me not wanting to murder him terms, I decided to go (against my better judgement). To make a long story short I still like him and ended up sleeping with him again. Now i'm sitting here hurting worse then before and basically replying to fourm topics as a way to get through the bitterness I feel for myself. Basically my question is what should I do? He's made it clear he doesn't want a relationship right now, but he wants to still be friends. But i'm afraid if I keep talking to him, I'll sleep with him again and get hurt all over again. :sigh:
