  1. Excellent story. Dark and touching on emotions. "When you overcome your fear of the unknown, stop lying to yourself, and end any denial of your reality, then you have courage." I can relate to this wholeheartedly.
  2. Happy Birthday!
  3. The Red Shoes There once was a young girl. She was said to be vain and proud. Karen was her name and all she cared for were clothes and looks. What she admired most were her red shoes. She went in them to church while all the others were dressed fully in black. Everybody shot Karen angry looks, but Karen chose to ignore them. A man with a red beard stopped her at the entrance of the church one Sunday morning. He pointed at Karen’s red shoes. "Those shoes are good for dancing," he said. Ka
  4. ‘Treasure Dome’ by Dolores Esteban I inherited the shop from my uncle. He died at the age of ninety-one and he had run the shop for sixty-two years. So the name ‘Everything Old’ was quite fitting to the shop. I was his only relative and that was why I inherited the shop. But, honestly, I was not happy about it. I had visited my uncle and his shop once or twice a year and the visits had always left me feeling drained and depressed. The room was dark and small. The air was stifled a
  5. Thank you, Cia. I was a bit sceptical about uploading this story. But now I'm glad I did.

  7. Laurelia was an island in the sea. The ocean is now known as the Atlantic Ocean. People lived in peace and harmony. They lived in happiness and in tune with the spirits of the universe. Aeons ago, a storm had carried a fishing boat to the island. The men had explored it. The island was rich in plants and animals. The climate was mild and agreeable. The fishermen had returned to the mainland and had reported their discovery to their tribe. The tribe lived on the western coast of the continent. T
  8. Jonathan T. Baxter Last Page of Jonathan T. Baxter’s diary: You don’t believe in fortune-telling, do you? Back then I did not. I laughed at the fortune teller’s words. My friends had told me of her and I had just seen her for fun. I wanted to see her fancy costume. This was what mainly interested me in her. Her look was grave and intense when she talked to me. I nodded seriously, but I was barely able to stifle a laugh. I shook off the slight feeling of uneasiness that took hold of me at he
  9. Hi. Thanks for reading and commenting. I'm happy you liked the drabble.
  10. I had experienced this several times in my life. But that year I really got the blues. I spent the last day on the surface of the planet like many others did as well. The snow started falling on the exact day they had announced it. Summer had drawn to an end. The long and draining winter time had arrived. Summer and winter last a long time on my planet. Each period is about two years on Earth. I know this because I worked on Earth for a few years before I returned to my home planet some time ag
  11. Edward II, King of England, laments the loss of a battle and the loss of his friend and beloved Piers Gaveston. Little epic in sonnet form.
  12. EDWARD II LAMENT OF THE KING The sun is up. The day is warm and bright. So tender; blissful spring has come anew. Alas, my heart is cold. I see no light. My friend, belov’d, oh why did death take you Away from me and separate our paths? I am a king no more; so sad but true. This is my fate. I feel an inward wrath. Oh God, are there no angels who do care, No helpful guardians of my fate aware? Bannockburn, name of bane and name of doom. Deep engraved in my heart: disgrace and shame. Those bra
  13. Great! Thank you.
  14. Okay, I usually don't read vampire stories. And I totally dislike incest. So, to be honest, I skipped the entire sex part. So, while the plot was definitely not mine, I enjoyed the writing style and the descriptive language. The pace of the story was perfect.

  16. Hi, thanks for reading and commenting. I was referring to the first poem...divine love is the greatest love. Therefore the promise. But, alas, they were not gods but mortals and so they followed to the grave. But we know Alexander as Alexander the Great and Achilles is an hero also. And the tragic love legend was passed on for centuries. So, in a sense they kept their promise. All fiction, of course Thanks for the feedback.
