  1. That's where I was, in theory.
  2. I'm indifferent seeing as I bookmarked the forum page. Anyway, I'm used to the IPB portal so either way is fine by me.
  3. I swear for all the screaming and yelling Sun Microsystems does about Microsoft, they are just as obnoxious. I'm trying to download the Java runtime environment, but rather than let me download the whole thing then install it, I have to download an installer, run it, THEN download the actual program, only now I don't know how long it will take because Sun conveniently left that part out of the progress bar. And to make matters worse, because it was handled as a plug in, I had to download an installer to download the F-ing installer. Even Netscape let's you download the install files to save for later so you don't have to go through that horse**** again.
  4. Considering the candidates, that could be applied equally.
  5. Chapter 13 is now up. You can view the story at one of two locations: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/knightsofmerlinskeep or https://www.gayauthors.org/navigator Enjoy
  6. Assuming, of course, that Harry wins. He probably will but Rowling has pulled twists on us before. In any event, Harry's continued existence is also up in the air. Even if he wins, it may cost him his life.
  7. Pity. Even if he wasn't the Half Blood Prince his relation would've made for some great side plots.
  8. Okay, they apparently have some javascript required to view the whole page. Damned annoying. Congrats Myr
  9. Sorry dude, but they must've changed something. You were not to be found.
  10. Wow. Where to begin? I must say that I find some of the conclusions the author of this article has made quite frightening. On the hair thing, well history is rife of depictions of men with long hair. The typical anglo ideology of Jeus is a white man with long hair. I've never understood the hypocrasy (never mind the historical inaccuracy. Jesus was Jewish and very much NOT white.) As for gay marraige I'm not going to comment. It's too hot a topic for me to really go in depth of my opinion here. Now the reall issue I have could be disected down by semantics. When he says treating women the same as men does he mean exactly the same or just equitably. To treat a woman exactly the same as a man is absurd. I'll use the ever popluar bathroom analogy. Men's room has six regular stalls and six urinals. Treat women equally, they would have the exact same thing. Equitably, you would give them 12 stalls. The overall tenor of the article would indicate to me that he has issues with treating women equitably as much as equally. I read and re-read this paragraph several times and still can't see what he's doing here. Is he advocating racism and religious persecution, or is he merely just using this as an example? Despite that ambiguity, the author has made some very good points and the article as a whole is eloquent and articulate, but I think his conclusions are too stemmed in his own fear of difference.
  11. I'm thinking it might be Mark Evans Harry mentioned in book 5. Evans was Lily's last name. Pehaps he is a second cousin to Harry.
  12. Folloy the yellow brick link: http://money.cnn.com/2004/06/29/news/newsmakers/harrypotter/index.htm?cnn=yes

    Hello

    Howdy hey, Neighbor!
  14. already got it covered. Thanks. The yahoo group will still be active, but the story archive will link to the story at https://www.gayauthors.org/navigator/. Thanks Myr.
  15. I don't like logging in either, but it's the only place on the net that I can update at my convenience rather than someone elses as well as not be slapped down for BS reasons cause Xing or her admins don't know the meaning of the word consistency. What's worse is the formatting gets shot to hell because yahoo doesn't link to the CSS file, but hey, small price to pay for a little control. I suppose I could embed it, but then the page size would increase dramatically. By at least 25% I'd guess. Then again, maybe not. It's only a 16k file. I think I will embedd the CSS from now on. Goes against everything I know bout HTML and styling, but hey, life's a bitch. If you're concerned about the referrer, just get a program like ad-subtract that blocks that.
  16. Trust me, the story is much better than the description would indicate. Give it a shot.
  17. Title: Harry Potter & the Knights of Merlin's Keep Author: Navigator aka Muggle Location: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/knightsofmerlinskeep/ Story Code: tt, tG, MM - Minor erotica Description: When Camelot fell, Merlin took Excalibur and hid it within his keep, a realm not entirely within this world. He entrusted an order of Knights to guard it until a new king could retrieve it and rebuild Camelot anew. But if evil got ahold of Excalibur, darkness would reign for near eternity. Harry gets caught up in the prophecy and needs the help of Ron, Hermione, and a few new friends to prevent evil from getting the sword. The ancient order of knights sends help in the form of a new student and unlikely hero. Bill Weasley is the DADA and falls in love with someone unexpected and Draco Malfoy becomes even more dangerous. Slash impending. Harry/OC, Bill/OC, Ron/Hermione. And for the record, I know the description is pretty cheesy, but I couldn't think of anything better without giving the whole story away.
  18. coolness. Now if I could just find the stop font I'd be a happy man.
  19. The Castaway Sanctuary? Just a thought.
  20. Where'd ya get the HP font?
  21. I should have it posted by Wednesday evening. School don't cha know!
  22. How does one add a story to the archive?
  23. Server is local to my computer so execution time should not be an issue. I have not changed that default. I use the server for development, not live hosting.
  24. I know there are some tech geeks here. Maybe one of you can help me with my problem. I'm having some issue with apache web server not outputing properly. HTML files over a certain length (don't know exactly what length) are being truncated, but from the begining of the file, not the end. Also images larger than a certain size (again, the exact size threshold is unknown but it ain't much) are not displaying. I am running apache 2.0.49 on Win XP home. It was working fine two weeks ago but I had to reformat. The configuration is the same but now I've got these issues. Can anyone help?
  25. I'd complain about the cliff hanger... but then I'd be a hypocrite. Can't have that. Great story. So when's nine coming out?
