  3. The two pieces that I mentioned above have indeed been my theme as I meandered though this life, but that theme will change to a more suitable theme for that moment in time when... Listen to Beauty Do not stand at my grave and weep Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there. I do not sleep When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there. I do not sleep

It was/is my understanding that there is to be a Series 3 of this show on BBC. I was wondering if any of our brethren from across that huge pond called Atlantic had any information as to when the series might air. It is too bad, international agreements not with standing, that it isn't broadcast simultaneously on the BBC America cable channel. Take Care Tomas
  5. "O Fortuna" from Carl Orff's "Carmina Buranna". Oh! And the arrangement by Highland, entitled "Magic Fortuna".

Same thing with houses in Buras and Empire, La after Betsy, I believe that requirement extended all the way down river to Venice. If memory serves, houses had to be built upon a platform 15 feet high. I can only assume that that is still the case. Gosh, Its been years since Betsy. I'm surprised that I remembered that. Take care, have fun.

Something that I wrote and posted on another site (no longer in existence) after Katrina.
  8. Thanks, guys. Those are some great suggestions and I'll be trying each of them. Maybe one will fit or maybe a combination or they may possibly lead to one of my own. Hopefully, I'll be able to kick-start this story and get on with it or kick it to the curb and let it go. If it turns out to be the latter, then it there evidently wasn't a story to be written. The best to all of you and thanks again. Tomas
  9. I know that this subject has probably been broached and probably discussed to death in the past, but one more once. For the past 18 months or more, I don
  10. There are two rather long poems that I like. Both run to about 130 or more lines. The first is "Renascence" by my favorite poet, Edna St. Vincent Millay. The second (which I'll not post unless someone asks) is "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" by T.S. Elliot.
  11. Do you have a favorite poem? One that speaks to you and stirs an emotional response? I actually have two. Both by Edna St Vincent Millay

  16. Right you are. Never, ever post anything before the second cup of coffee.
  17. Gee, took you long enough. "Hash Pipe" was the first single from their 2001 "Green Album". LOL

  19. A very Happy Birthday, James. Remember, you are only as old as you feel. It does get confusing though. Sometimes I feel like I'm 100 and sometimes I feel like I'm 16. I just wish when I feel like I'm 16 the body would co-operate.
  20. Where you fit on the political spectrum may well determine if you'll enjoy or hate the book and/or the movie, if it truly gets made. The book was less favorably received by those on the left of the political spectrum than by those on the right. A lot of Ayn Rands philosophy, which is the foundation for the book, is anathema to the philosophy of Liberals and Progressives. Anyway, this was just a bit of news about another attempt to make a film from the book. There have numerous failed attempts since the book was first published in 1957. Welcome back, James. Hope you had a great vacation away from the rat race.
  21. NECRO POST. This subject was over and done with several months ago. There was no need to bring it up again.
  22. I appears that Atlas Shrugged may finally make it to the big screen. Since the book actually has three parts the movie will be made as a trilogy. Which might be a good idea since it is a massive work it really couldn't very well be reduced to one movie without destroying the story. Here is a link: Atlas Shrugged article
  23. Depends on my mood. Could be anything from Bluegrass to Zydeco with two exceptions. I don't listen to Rap or Hip Hop.
