  1. Hermetically Sealed

    Chapter 2

One one hand, Will actually seems more like a 15 year old. His cavalier attitude about sleeping with people he knows are in non-open relationships, and how he absolves himself of doing any wrong is pretty much what one expects from a teen age mind set. On the other hand, it's pretty disappointing that not one single adult manages to even try to get him to think just why he wasn't as undesearving of what happened. If anything, the adults are just enabling his solipsistic attitude.
  2. Hmmm, looking for Jeff's parent's? Billy didn't happen to knock some girl up before dying, did he? j/k
  3. Well, i think one thing to consider about JP, let's look at the 'incidences' he's actually been involved in; Dr. Jensen and Deke. He wasn't involved with Jeff's or Bitty's death, or Brian and Carson's. For him, this is kind of the first time he's met with family of those he's plotting against before things get messy. It's bound to be a bit upsetting for him.

    Chapter 92

Well . . . . that would explain why JP and Will responded as they did. It'll be interesting to see how they all handle further interactions. As for Wade's subserviance needs, I'm actually shocked that Matt hadn't figured out long ago that he enjoyed being dominated, sexually, unless he held back due to worrying about Wade's daddy issues.

    Chapter 83

I think I would be far more concerned about the intelligence of someone who thought putting a 14 year old on a board was a particularly sane endeavor, than of someone making profitable decisions who's in a family tiff with no bearing on the business. But then, Stef is nothing if not over dramatically petty.
  6. To be honest, Stef hasn't treated Robbie well since Man in Motion. He fully knows Robbie's troubled past, and how traumatized he was before getting under Neil's yoke, but even though he was the one to warn Brad and just how manipulative fisting could be, he basically just blamed Robbie for not being strong enough to overcome his past abuses. To a degree, so did Brad. I kind of think, probably unconsciously, Robbie reminds Stef too much of Jeff, and has merely transferred his anger (and Jeff's sins) to Robbie. I mean, I would have thought him sympathetic in regards to Neil considering that he himself was similarly used by Jeff after the whole France event. Instead, he just seemed derisive and every 'mistake' made by Robbie brings his wrath. Stef is clearly bearing some sort of grudge, whether he knows it or not.
  7. I would buy that for JP and Wade. Brad, maybe unconsciously so, but Stef? Stef has always reveled at emotional dramas. It's his lifeblood. From the beginning he has always sought to push people's buttons, to throw them off their emotional balance in order to manipulate or hurt. It's one of the things about him I have always disliked, although, I would say he probably is that way as a means of covering up his own insecurities from his childhood. He just never outgrew the habit. Honestly, I think the only time Stef actively dislikes emotional chaos is when he gets pulled in without consent, then he just gets bitter. As for Robbie, I can mostly agree, though he seems to get portrayed as dumber and more emotionally unbalanced with each story, even if still supposedly well intentioned. He's Celeste, Queen of Misery, always trying to make everyone happy only to end up a blubbering mess with everyone pissed at him. Great, now every time I read Robbie's lines it's going to be in Sally Field's voice. . .
  8. Well, one thing that always remains true, you can't force yourself to write, so as much as I enjoy Odyssey I am patient and can wait for its time to roll back around. Until then we have the remainder of Paternity to sustain us.
  9. Happy New Year. Here's hoping 2013 is a better year. ^^
  10. I really have never been a fan of this whole poor wittle Will, mean ol'Robbie and Brad thing, so no matter what happens, meh. But lets face it, any other character everyone would be besides themselves trying to make things work. Even resigned heavily when no other way could be found. Yet when it has come to Robbie, the first reaction of everyone (especially Stef) has been to put him down, belittle, bully and basically play upon every past trauma, then act completely surprised when things go sidewise. I don't just mean in this story, either. this seems to be a thing since The Box. Will meanwhile, throws a petulant temper tantrum because daddy and Pops weren't doting on his every moment for a week or two after months of family time in Ohio, Europe and Hawaii a mere few weeks before, inflicts massive damage and everyone is besides themselves with sorrow.
  11. It's called 9-11. I think the writing was on the wall from the start of this particular story that Robbie is being groomed to be off'd, And not in the fun Thai soi weekend sort of way.

    Chapter 82

Meh, sorry, this is probably the first chapter I have ever just gave up reading before it was half way finished. I don't know. For the last two or three stories Robbie has basically been turned into the story punching bag for seeming lack of a defined 'bad guy.' I guess I just don't understand the need, but oh well. I can see the writing on the wall, yet another Hayes character down the tubes. But at least the Will worshipers finally get their wish. I'll try coming back later, and give it another go, but I honestly just don't grog this . . . storyline.

    Chapter 75

It's nice that Nana is giving Will something to think on. He needs more non-sycophantic elders to encourage that habit. The question is, will he actually give it serious thought, or his usual out of sight, out of mind? Not too surprised about Tony. Will is 14, Tony is 19? 20? Will is in 9th grade, Tony in College. They really could never have been anything more than fuck buddies as they are in just too different of places in their lives.

    Chapter 74

I see Will is attempting to out drama Stefan. And as usual, stirs crap up only to run away for others to deal with the fallout. I really hope that with all the bullshit he pulled to not have Jeanine a part of his life (along with the witnesses of his even refusing to consider her his mother) that he doesn't just get his way handed to him on a platter. He wanted her out of his life, well that doesn't just mean when it's convenient.

    Chapter 73

Loving Nana as the Tonto pro tempore, and I hope we see more of her in the future. Elizabeth certainly underestimated Wade's mental acumen, but somehow don't think she's going to just give in. I definitely agree with his estimate that her drinking is just a planned move to cover her actions, and even with her war chest soon to be removed, she's likely to continue.
  16. Hermetically Sealed

    Chapter 68

I have a feeling that Wade and Mary Ellen aren't the only family members whose fortunes Mother Dearest has taken a keen interest in.
  17. Hermetically Sealed

    Chapter 65

I find Will lecturing anyone on being selfish, backstabbing, and not caring about others to be highly ironic. I think he suffers from a bit of transference. Maybe meeting Elizabeth will show him what having a real bitch for a mother is like. As tense as the dinner at Escorial was, I imagine it will be even more passive aggressive with the Danfields.
  18. Just don't stress yourself out trying to do too much. We'll be here, however long it takes.
  19. I would also say that the kids did get some sort of boundaries, it was just Jeanine, rather than Brad and Robbie who provided it (hence the friction with Will). And I take exception that second part. I was one such kid, but certainly am anything but docile as an adult. Especially towards my parents. Although, I will say that most of why I kept out of trouble was because it never made sense to get into it in the first place, and I got to watch my sisters screw up ahead of me to figure out the whole cause and consequence things. Sometimes it pays to be the youngest.

    Chapter 64

Hmm, I still don't see the supposed maturity, rationality and whatnot from Will that characters in the story keep claiming. He has constantly been irrational, violent and utterly amoral. And I really don't see him being adult enough for emancipation, even with his good grades in school, but if it moves to the story past this . . . drama, I'm all for it. I guess Will's story will just have to be my "A Summer Love." What ever it takes to get Brad back to being Brad. However, now I am really anxious to find out just what all Elizabeth has planned for Wade. I can't imagine her being too docile with the way he's worked his way into his father's inner circle.
  21. Or in this case, if the author even wants them to.
  22. I would argue that we have already passed that point, since every adult seems to have completely abandoned common sense just to pander to Will's petulant temper tantrums. Hell, the fact that even JP has yet to set him down even once and clearly explain things to him amazes me. They all just offer drive by quips like he will figure it out on his own, when throughout the entire story he has consistently failed to do so. What Will really needs is someone who won't blow smoke up his ass, patting him on the head and telling him what a good boy he is. Someone who will calmly and rationally sit with him and lead him through his possible actions and their consequences. One would think that at least one adult would have figured something as simple as that out. I mean, surely Stefan and JP have got to see the domino effect that Will going to the media would have on the rest of the family. But then, as several people seem to claim, who needs believability in a "fiction" story. ETA: Thinking about it, maybe Will would finally get his head screwed on straight if someone actually pointed out how much like his mother he is behaving. After all, Jeanine's plan was to take Tiffany's past to the media in order to hurt Wade when she didn't get what she wanted. Now Will is threatening to go to the media if he doesn't get what he wants. Will may get his temper from Brad, but he certainly gets his myopic deviousness from mom.
  23. You know what, let the little solipsist take it to the media. Then let him watch as the media starts digging further into all of the family's secrets. Bring out Aunt Claire's abortion, the teenage drinking and pot smoking JP and Isadore allowed under their watch, the connections to multiple criminal organizations (domestic and foreign), Josh, Jeff, Deke, Scottie, Jensen, Bitty . . . . oh the sheer material this family has accumulated. Will's threat isn't just against Brad and Jeanine, it could do a number on the rest of the family as well. As usual, Will proves his inability to think beyond his own instant gratification. He only ever sees what he gets out of it, but not who he harms in the crossfire. And yet, people still think he's mature and makes sound decisions? Okay then.
  24. As he is currently being portrayed? No. It just wouldn't be believable. Maybe if we could actually get a good reference that isn't from Will's narcissistic point of view (such as from any adult) I might change my opinion. To be honest, I'm not getting why M and PMS were missteps for Brad. Yes, things started off bad in M, but once others pointed out problems, he tried to work on them, and started paying closer attention (something he seems to have completely shrugged off and just gone off the deep end in P). Even in PMS he wasn't anything like his current portrayal. It's too hard to tell what is supposed to be Brad's actual behavior, and what is just Will's typical over dramatization of events.
  25. Hermetically Sealed

    Chapter 63

Pretty much my every negative opinion of Will just got a hefty reinforcement; petulant, spoiled, vindictive drama queen.
